Ah, I see. You quoted my post so I thought you were replying to me.

My point was the pride some people take in how well they have mastered an artificial system that was designed to be mastered, and how contentious they get in their peeing contests about who knows more about a given game, has played it longer or under more stringent (read: masochistic) difficulty settings.

What does it mean when you have a vivid dream where an older relative of yours is hell bent on killing you with an old musket rifle?

I went to this grocery store earlier. It's one I haven't been to, but it was there and I needed to pick up water. So I do. I get a case of 24 water bottles, which I usually pay like 3.50 for at Walmart. It was advertised as 3 for 9.99 with no other price listed. Well, they tried to charge me almost 8 dollars for it because I didn't have their store card. I basically said no, that's ridiculous. I'm not paying 8 dollars for water. The manager ends up coming over and I tell her she can either give me my money back or give me the discount. I got the discount and an apology. I wouldn't have given the money to begin with but my phone was ringing and I didn't notice what they were charging at first. I've never heard of water being that expensive. I'll probably never go back there again.

Ah, company loyalty cards! Or "customer rewards" cards. They use that to track purchase histories, and you have to have the card to get the discount price. Google isn't the only company that can data-mine.

Nice weather is finally here. I went for a long hike, grilled dinner, and even turned the heat off and opened windows. Spring makes me happy.

Fresh air is awesome. I really like being able to open up the windows at home. Today was beautiful outside here.

I love this song so much! The artwork is incredible as well.
As a child watching this movie, I always thought I could maybe someday go see the Notre Dame Cathedral. It makes me so sad to know that part of it was destroyed today.

Disney Fun Fact: Belle makes an appearance at 2:58. Lower right corner.

Wow, Streams is so... dead.

And wanted to ask - is Galatea around? She was pretty awesome - smart, witty and a delightful writer.

PS - of course most members have had their share of controversy ... so not everyone would like the same subset of people. We all have our favs on whose posts we like to read and whose we skim.

Yes streams is dead, or maybe just lapsing into unconsciousness. I haven't started participating but I think that conversation thread has usurped it's place. And let's be honest that streams has had a really good run but is confusing for new members who are faced with thousands of pages to read (I wonder if you could almost track the rise and development of the singles forum by going back and reading through all the posts here). And for those of us who've been here a while, well this thread is probably a bit of a reminder of all those cool people who have moved on from this forum for one reason or another.

Those of us who have grandparents are blessed. Grandparents are awesome.
My favorite grandparents passed in 81 and 83. I still miss them deeply. Enjoy your grandparents while you have the chance. They are a treasure that cannot be replaced.
