The Holy Laughter,ironically,invokes the greatest wrath from the flesh of religious people,and even some charismatics.
It is both comical and sad at the same time.

I read this whole thread and what got ME laughing a healing laugh was reading Laffter's story of church and believe it is a spiritual gifts. Especially confirmed by the power of the testimony of her words. I remember many years ago recovering from a depression breakdown after the anguish of a hospital and being in an outpatient meeting still suffering greatly and like the girl sitting across from me, just really wanting to die, and she said so expressing her anger at this world loudly, and her opinion of the useless boring meeting of misery. But every time our eyes met, we would both laugh in uncontrollable hysterics! We simply could not control it and so I tried avoiding looking her way, but to no avail. And everyone was wondering what was going on, and telling us to stop. But she said, "It's his fault, " and I said, "no, it's her fault!". I didn't quite understand the whole thing, but we both felt better at experiencing a healing spiritual gift in our misery. Her name was Lynn, and I often worried about her, but believe the same Holy Spirit helped her survive, and now healing tears of the memory. Joy and tears are confirmation of gifts of the Holy Spirit. And a confirmation of the power of God in the prophetic Word, and of the last days being upon us, but not necessarily a confirmation of everything in this thread.

Oh Sweet Father in Heaven,

Thank You so much for the Blood and Body of Your Son Yeshua/Jesus that cleanses us from all our sins and becomes our righteousness in Christ making us clean vessels and a new creation for You to pour Your sweet Holy Spirit in us and all the Godhead - Father, Son and Holy Spirit to indwell us. Truly, You make us one with You and each other with Your Love, Word and Spirit.

Just as Yeshua/Jesus had a "work" to do while on the Earth, the Holy Spirit has a "work" to do in us, too. Father, You have given us Your Word and Your Spirit - touch and heal us, restore the joy of our salvation, teach us to not hinder Your Holy Spirit, let us be those trees planted by the river of water that can bring forth fruit even in a drought. Let Your River erupt from our bellies and flow in us and through us mightily bringing life to thirsty souls, even the thirst of our own soul........

Father, thank You for Herald and Lynn! Do it again, Father........show them You can bring joy where there is sadness, You can bring life where there is death, You can bring laughter where there is misery. Where ever they are right now - touch, heal and restore them and all of us with Your Word and Spirit, in the Name of Yeshua/Jesus we pray, amen.

I thought the laughter was fake when my mother told me some were laughing hysterically in her church.
I went to go see and man o man was i wrong. The anointing in that meeting was so powerful.
Then a few months later Vicky Jaimison came to San Antonio to new life church. I got hit, and hit ,and hit with the holy laughter. I left there completly undone. It was like God opened the top of my head and made me a human straw or tube to gush a river of his spirit through me. It was deliverance,infilling,purging,renewal,refreshing,love,....and just a honey flush of goodness all in one. I will never forget it. We need that purging and goodness.
God....please do it again.

In the browsville revival both Don wilkerson and mike brown came on board as staff. David Wilkerson was against the revival at first,but don and mike convinced him it was genuine.
David vehemently opposed the Holy Laughter.as did the staff at the brownsville revival. As far as i know,Dave never did acknowledge the Holy Laughter.
It is bewildering how so many,including charismatics,missed and opposed the Holy Spirits wonderful visitation.
I really miss those times. They are precious and it is hopefully coming back one day.
I am gearing up to move cross country if need be to be in the next move of God. Tying to sell most everything and relocate.
Once you have been in those meetings,you are "forever ruined".
Religion is a robber.
Most worship leaders do not know what their job description is.
It is to bring the congregation into the Holy Of Holies. Into His presence.
If that is not known or accomplished,the congregation is robbed.
The walk is centered in the anointing.
The anointing magnifies exponentially in the assembly.

See. That's the problem and confusion with this whole issue that has me leaning against the entire movement. NO ONE on the side of tongues and gifts condemns absolutely obvious charlatans, that cruelly bilk the poor with false hopes of cures, like Hinn, who have become fabulously wealthy, and live exceedingly extravagant lifestyles.

I don't know if EVERY tongue is false. I tend to think not. But I am sure when I see either phonies, or different spirits. And that the movement at large either can't or won't condemn these guys is VERY troubling.

An evangelist was accused in a $5 million lawsuit Thursday of allowing an elderly Oklahoma City woman to languish at the front of a church for more than an hour after she fell and broke her hip.
The woman, Ella Peppard, 85, was later taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, but died 15 days later from blocked arteries brought on by the hip fracture.
The suit, filed in Oklahoma City federal court by Peppard's family, states that she suffered the broken hip Sept. 18 while attending a revival at the Faith Tabernacle near Interstate 40 and Portland. The revival featured evangelist Benny Hinn of Orlando, Fla., who took over the ministry once headed by the late Katherine Kuhlman.
The Peppard family's attorney, Carl Hughes, said the woman was convinced by ushers to go to the front of church, where Hinn was striking people on the forehead and pronouncing them "slain in the spirit."
The suit charged that Hinn, "in a deliberate and deceitful attempt to give the impression that one had been "slain in the spirit' ... pushed the gentleman standing in front of Mrs. Peppard backwards, knocking him into Mrs. Peppard and causing her to fall to the ground and break her hip."
Hughes said Hinn then declared that Peppard, who was in obvious pain, was hindering the service and ordered her removed from the stage and placed in a seat near the front of the church.
The attorney said Peppard's family was told by witnesses "that when one usher offered to seek medical aid, Hinn stopped him, saying, "Leave her alone. God will heal her.' " Peppard, according to the petition, eventually was taken to Deaconess Hospital, where surgeons implanted a prosthesis of her left hip. She was then transferred to Baptist Medical Center, where she died Oct. 3. The state medical examiner determined that she died of multiple pulmonary emboli (blocked arteries), caused by the broken hip.
The suit seeks $2.5 million in actual damages and another $2.5 million in punitive damages from Hinn, his company Benny Hinn Ministries Inc. and the Faith Tabernacle Association Inc.

The thing is,he never shows Hinns rebuttle from the smear artists.
The smear artists exist for one reason.To destroy men of God.
It is insanity.

would be youtube discernment...pre-digested and spat out for the masses who discern via an opinion and the exploited emotionally immature and untaught

no one needs a special anointing (gift from the Spirit of God) to understanding that many are not correcting their behavior and think anything goes and pass if off as the Holy Spirit. discernment also comes from the word of God

all you really need is I Corinthians 14 and Paul's teaching

love is not pretending that everyone here is actually who they say they are

some folks are here just to kick the can down the street, make alot of noise and cause division

without the Holy Spirit there is no Christianity

I certainly do appreciate your true concern and your idealistic hope in a consensus here

but we are addressing religious spirits actually and not just flesh and blood

so why doesn't God show everyone the truth?

if you are actually so far gone as to state the Holy Spirit is blasphemed because I can see through your religious charade, then I must point out to you that the Holy Spirit cannot be blasphemed unless you attribute His deeds to the devil

I tell the Lord this stuff wasn't even on my radar before this year. I mean I always knew Hinn and a couple of other obvious charlatans, were bad guys that gave a black eye to Christians in general, and bilked the poor and desperate to get fabulously wealthy and live ostentatious, obscene lifestyles. but I honestly never studied these Baptism of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, Baptism with fire doctrines etc...

As represented by many here, and from what I have seen from virtually every Charismatic church that I have looked at , I want NO part in whatever they are in to. The jury is in for me.

This does NOT mean I don't believe the Lord can and does use tongues, WHEN NECESSARY, for His purposes. Or that healings can't occur FOR HIS PURPOSES.

From what I have seen the movement is driven by a seeking of EXPERIENCE, and NOT a sincere desire to love and serve the Lord.

Can the joy of the Lord bubble up to meek laughter? Of course He can! Will a person maniacally laugh for no purpose but to elongate a false experience? Yep. I can start laughing right now if I wanted to, for as long as I want to. It wouldn't mean anything. There is of course NOWHERE in Scripture you can find the Holy Spirit being expressed in long fits of laughter. Or rolling around on the floor. Or barking or howling, or someone waving their hand and a bunch of people fall over "slain in the spirit".

So these are either manifestations of the H. S. or they are fake, or they are of another spirit. Those are your choices. And they AINT the 1st 2.

Now add in the ecumenical element that is emerging so much in this movement, and it's alliance with all sorts of religions, and closeness with catholics and the pope.

Even supposed "good" guys like Wigglesworth turn out to be BAD guys. Did you know he slammed a baby against a wall and then kicked it off the stage , and apparently the baby was healed/brought back to life? Unsubstantiated, just like all the charismatic claims past and present. But the fact that he thought the way to heal this baby was to do that tells you this is a very bad guy.

So no. It's not about maturing in the Holy Spirit. It's TOTALLY about discernment. And if it were about maturity, the maturity would be for those that have recognized that this movement is NOT FROM THE LORD to leave it. It all looks like idolatry to me.

And this verse keeps popping in my head when I see that people are into this stuff:
