Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you want to be somewhat attracted to your partner at the very least. I completely understand that. But there's a lot of moderately attractive people or average looking people with great personalities and qualities who you might miss out on because you're too focused on outward appearance.

Just curious... what did this woman claim she was bringing to the table? What would this hypothetical man who met all her long list get in return?

Pardon me for sounding crude, but if it was just sex... you can get that anywhere. She would need to up the ante a bit to make the bargain fair.

My friend's expectation is that the guy must not come from a broken family, as if it is a guarantee that will make the marriage work. She married someone who passed the criteria. I hope they live happily ever after.

I don't recall with certainty, but I believe it was just "herself"... as though she were some fantabulous prize. smh...

I saw a clip of that show. I got tired of listening to her list so I watched something else lol

I think the problem this woman has, is that she does not, and has never known God. Many points on her list, reminds her of those she has been with earlier, that crushed her heart, because she never knew, and didn't walk the ways of God.
This list is made from her heartache.

Some of her points does also point to a man that knows, and fears God.
She is trying again, that's why the list is there, but who she really is seeking, is the Lord.
He is the one that is stable, and the man that walks His ways, with a new heart.
 
I just watched that clip. Thank you LittleMermaid for digging that up.

The irony is I fit everything on that long list... except two. I'm too close to my family and I don't like to travel. You try to come between me and my family and we're gonna fight. And I mean WE'RE gonna fight, me and my family, you gonna have a fight on your hands with all of us. And I don't MIND traveling, but I'm not the kind to start planning a trip just for kicks.

So close... I was just so close...

Best line of the whole clip: "There's more but we ran out of pillars."

I've learned by now God's Word is correct: the only expectation that's realistic and that will stand the test of time is being equally yoked. That's it. And there's only one way to find out if a man and woman are equally yoked. Ya gotta spend time together. Ya gotta determine if you're in agreement on how to live for the Lord so you'll be an effective team, be able to get along as trustworthy friends to be great lovers, and you have to be able to accept each other's shortcomings and help each other grow in grace in Jesus Christ.

In other words, you don't have a snowball's chance in Hades if either one of you are focused on impressing the world. But you have a tremendous chance if both of you love the Lord Jesus with all your heart and mind and don't live for the flesh.

While it is funny (and sad at the same time), I think it's one thing to have three page worth of desired characteristics and traits from potential spouse and tell God what you want, but it is another thing to insist on it and make decision strictly based on the list.

And the truth is, you do not know, you do not truly know what you really want.

Yes that is true. It's best to let God introduce us to the right person for us. Does this happen though or are we meant to actively seek. I would prefer if God bought the right person across my path.
 
Start with a pulse and work your way up.
Seriously though, aren't we all, more or less, looking for the same fundamental character traits?
After that, in the big picture, it's all fluff.
Fluffy things can feel nice...but it's still fluff. Light and airy, blown this way and that by the wind, with no cohesiveness

There are a lot of really delusional folks on dating apps out there. This might be one of the worst I have seen. This is from Reddit. I kind of hope it turns out to be fake.
