someone once told me that truth never changes,
Truth never changes, but our perception of it does.
There is an argument when I was growing up, that people would listen to Jesus is they knew He was God.
So they believed miracles and demonstrating them would make the difference in peoples lives.
It was the argument, until you "prove" God exists, then I will believe in Him.
This is fundamentally a lie. The truth of Gods existence or not is not the issue, it is do we care.
Israel, taken out of Egypt, given a way to follow into the desert, following a pillar of smoke and a
pillar of fire at night, still, when Moses was gone, wanted to party without restraint.
God can exist and we just hate what He stands for, conformity, humbleness, submission, love.
Weak, empty things which only weaklings choose, rather fighting and conquering, showing how
big and great one is, is what matters.
Or take another perspective. Weather comes and goes, we are born, live and die. But all our arguments,
trials, efforts are done in 20 miles of atmosphere on a small blob called the earth orbiting a star called
the sun, where this small place is the only place we can exist. So in a sense it is all pointless, a flowering
of plant in a field, and then it is gone.
Now what matters is within these constraints or knowledge, can we bring love, hope, life through Jesus,
and an eternal perspective that turns this world into a glorious celebration of life and His blessings.
I say yes we can, Praise the Lord.
My point is simply truth by itself is often stark and without significance. Life comes from seeing its significance
in Christ and God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, Amen.
