belief has nothing to do with truth, people believe in many things that are untrue, i do not believe there is a God, i know he exists by what i see. paul puts is like this in corinthians 1 he who know may not know fully but love is manifest. its not what we believe that's important but how we believe, james say if u believe in word only but not in deed then u are a help to no one, we must believe with our whole heart to action.

Belief does have something to do with truth, but you have to believe the truth.

How can you escape what you think is truth, and reality, if you do not believe it.

Exo 4:5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

2Ch 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

believing in knowledge is not the same as a belief in the fanciful, most people have belief apart from knowledge, i am sure they have a grounding for such belief a reason why the believe it but it is not necessarily the truth.

We walk by faith NOT by SIGHT

The just shall live by FAITH

Congratulations.....the bolded above is the exact opposite of what the bible calls for!!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen..................But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

my belief system comes from what i have read in the bible, heard at church and experienced from God, and see of the world, it is not blind faith and does not come from nothing

In philosophy the search for truth came to a definitive conclusion, we always have to assume something
is true, there is no absolute proof of truth itself.

Some confuse this with subjective proof, where a pragmatic faith in truth works in everyday life.
Science defined truth further, as a statement of what something is not, rather than a definitive statement
of what it is. What this means there are no full descriptions of anything, but we can distinguish something
for its surroundings, which is enough to work with.

A way of describing this pragmatic faith in our view of the world is belief.
Now to oppose belief with truth, is slightly miss leading.

One persons faith is different from anothers, and could be insane, or close to anything we can clearly define.

Scientists hate saying they have a faith. The reason is their belief system is based on repeatable experiments
that give the same result given the same conditions. So they define their conclusions as truth.

A faith based on ideas or speculation, maybe be true, but it is a hypothesis.
In biblical terms, we ground our ideas in scripture, and thereby claim authority beyond hypothesis.

If one wants to pursue critical thinking, the foundations of knowing what is truth and its limitations is an
important first step.

There are views that suggest any belief in objective truth is a delusion, and merely a power manipulation by
social forces wishing to promote one group over another. For this reason it is important to defend truth, because
without truth we have lawlessness and anarchy.

someone once told me that truth never changes,

someone once told me that truth never changes,

Truth never changes, but our perception of it does.

There is an argument when I was growing up, that people would listen to Jesus is they knew He was God.
So they believed miracles and demonstrating them would make the difference in peoples lives.
It was the argument, until you "prove" God exists, then I will believe in Him.

This is fundamentally a lie. The truth of Gods existence or not is not the issue, it is do we care.
Israel, taken out of Egypt, given a way to follow into the desert, following a pillar of smoke and a
pillar of fire at night, still, when Moses was gone, wanted to party without restraint.

God can exist and we just hate what He stands for, conformity, humbleness, submission, love.
Weak, empty things which only weaklings choose, rather fighting and conquering, showing how
big and great one is, is what matters.

Or take another perspective. Weather comes and goes, we are born, live and die. But all our arguments,
trials, efforts are done in 20 miles of atmosphere on a small blob called the earth orbiting a star called
the sun, where this small place is the only place we can exist. So in a sense it is all pointless, a flowering
of plant in a field, and then it is gone.

Now what matters is within these constraints or knowledge, can we bring love, hope, life through Jesus,
and an eternal perspective that turns this world into a glorious celebration of life and His blessings.
I say yes we can, Praise the Lord.

My point is simply truth by itself is often stark and without significance. Life comes from seeing its significance
in Christ and God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, Amen.

truth is what governs life, if u are hungry u need to eat, if u want money u need to work, if u are tired u need sleep, there are fundamental truths an laws that govern everything in life, without truth there is no existence
