If you will not receive the word of God you do not have prophecy. The word of God is profitable for correction and instruction unto righteousness.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

For the cause of Christ
Roger
It amazes me

Payl said the word of God CAN make a man complete.

Yet these people think God left us an unfinished book

This is ridiculous: first you make up a wacky definition for a term that I introduced, and now you’re trying to redefine ‘cessationist’. Just accept the word for what it means to everyone else: someone who doesn’t believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still operating.
LOL Yes ridiculous: Yet for all the nice colors to help follow the law. What does the "sign" of Tongues confirm? Belief or unbelief?

Yet for all that they still refuse to look to the foundation of the doctrine .Its shown by falling backward.

And I also enjoy being taught much by the gifts of prophecy at our meetings wherein God does speak to his church.
.
What does this spirit that fills you say since he teaches you directly? Do you get to take home the gifts? Does this spirit of wonderment say made a good noise go ahead and fall backward ?

.How do you understand the unknown tongue? What do they teach about falling backwards . Is it unknown ?

You have an amazing ability to respond with irrelevance.

You made up a wacky definition for "circular reasoning". You made up a wacky definition for "cessationist". Just use the words with the meanings they have. If you don't understand the term, look it up.

I've dealt with your narrow-minded view on the gift of tongues... at great length. It's one thing to disagree honestly, but you have stubbornly refused to step away from your errors.

I care not for your ad hominems
Prophecy surpasses all your unbelief and nonsense.
Exactly, now you got it. That's a good sign, a new tongues, the gospel .Prophecy surpasses all your unbelief and nonsense. Its what follows one who has believed a slew of metaphor for every believer..

You must of finally looked at the "law" as it is written rather than pretending its not there supported in both places .I would think it was a great relief to know that now you are no longer mocking God with stammering lips. Sounds like the sign of the metaphor poison has taken away that by which you could mock God.

The sign clearly represents unbelief. Just think no more trusting men to catch you. The sign that shows they have no faith is falling backward. It replaced the drinking poison sign.

The father of lies just loves to turn things up side down and make the word of God to no effect. Prophecy (tongues) surpasses all your unbelief and nonsense

1 Corinthians 14:20-22 King James Version (KJV) Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips (all the nations) will I speak unto this people; and "yet for all that" will they not hear me, saith the Lord. Wherefore tongues (God's word) are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Isaiah 28:11-13 King James Version (KJV) For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

erstanding be men. In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips (all the nations) will I speak unto this people; and
Now the $65,000.00 ?

"yet for all that" . Waggles what does the sign of tongues confirm? Or is it still unknown and we are to keep falling backward. Getting filed with something unknown, mocking with stammering lips something unknown as the gospel of wonderment, mysticism .

Sure.....keep dreaming....you and your pals will find out soon enough......
The word,in its purest form is a harmony from cover to cover with Jesus as the heart, but seeking the bride and untimately David's throne in a new heaven and new earth.
Bride sought, gathered and by his side for eternity.
2 redeemed components
Earth
The bride
That panaramic purpose is illuminated by the Holy Spirit.
The bible you read is a book.
Power ceased in your book
The bride is an abstract.
Once you are filled with the Holy Spirit you commune with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in intimacy.
That dynamic COMPLETELY changes the impact of the word, because they/heaven,not only illuminate the word but guide in spoken commentary.
Many times the Holy Spirit says to me "read it again" i do and don't get it. He says it over and over and each time i know he is fixing to show me.

That is how i saw that nugget in acts 2.
Where peter quoting Joel says the gifts/tongues/bap in H. S. Continue (never ceasing) till the moon turns to blood.
I read that many times never seeing that the Holy Spirit destroyed the error that ANYTHING ceased.
The word was never meant for clever, dynamic, animated, minds to exault followers to follow their cunning flowery way with mere intellect.
In fact what will cease and fail is that mental dogma.
The 5 wise ran circles around the fiolish that CEASED getting the oil (Holy Spirit)
Get the oil while you can.
No oil after the rapture.

Like you say "you and your pals will find out"
Read the book of ruth then rev 5
Then the last supper dialog
Then mat 25
Then rev 19

The bride and groom
Heavens big,big purpose
(That almost nobody is talking about)
Wow
Seems impossible, but it is the result of a non illuminated body of christ.
Possibly 95% or more,in a backslidden non illuminated mental foggy walk, secular and without oil.
May God help us to be flames of fire.
Fire needs oil
OIL!!!!!!!
LORD SEND MORE OIL!!!!!
I REFUSE A LITTLE FLICKER OF WEAK LIGHT!!!!!!
TURN ME/US INTO FIREBALLS!!!!

Thank you,
however, as I said the issue I have had is with those who bully and attack those of the opposing view. For you, the term Spade is nothing yet to some it has another meaning just like gay is no longer gay. Case in point, the expression "to call a spade a spade." For almost half a millennium, the phrase has served as a demand to "tell it like it is." It is only in the past century that the phrase began to acquire a negative, racial overtone. origins of the expression to the Greek phrase "to call a fig a fig and a trough a trough." original Greek expression was very likely vulgar in nature and that the "figs" and "troughs" in question were double entendres. In the late 1920s during the Harlem Renaissance, "spade" began to evolve into code for a black person, according to Patricia T. O'Connor and Stewart Kellerman's bookOrigins of the Specious:

the term I well know and I know it as the latter. I am not saying the person said anything other than what I think he meant by I am not sure.
OK. Be blessed brother. Know that although myself and others may bicker, at the end of the day we love you as a brother in the Lord.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it is against the policy of this forum to type whatever and call it tongues

further, seek the Lord and even more, understand what tongues are about so that you don't post something that is tempting a poster to prove to you that tongues exist

you are exactly being 'a wise guy'

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Born Again Speaking in Tongues and I hope this will clarify a few things...

Receiving the Holy Ghost as they did in the book of Acts, we need to repent, find a church that baptizes full immersion into the water having the NAME of Jesus pronounced over us, and be filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues.

Note, receiving the Holy Ghost can be before or after water baptism but never before repentance.

Now, this initial speaking in tongues is NOT the gift of tongues a stated in 1Corinthians 12, it is the SOUND that Jesus spoke of in his conversation with Nicodemus...

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

When they were filled with the Holy Ghost in Acts chapter 2, they ALL spoke in tongues...

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

When God created all that was created he made a parallel between what is spirit and what is the natural.
When a woman is in the hospital birthing room the baby is born and begins to cry, and we know there is movement, there is sound, there is life.

When we are baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, as it is with the New Testament Church in Acts, we know there is movement, there is sound, there is LIFE, a baby in the church womb is just birthed forth, and is now Born Again, born of Spirit!

The initial tongues is like having a car...

Although the car has power windows, power locks and radio, none of that is of any use without the battery under the hood. When we get the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, it is like getting the battery and, now that we have the Holy Ghost the Bible way, we are now candidates to receive and use the power windows, power locks and radio as stated in 1Corinthians 12.

-Thank you.
This view is an embarrassment to Pentecostals everywhere. Let it be known to all that read this that this is a minority view of those who are often called "Oneness" Pentecostals or "Jesus Name Only." This is a misunderstanding of what "In the Name of" means. You are presenting it like it is a spell cast by your mouth rather than the authority of. Also, you are suggesting that no one was born again in church history between the book of Acts and the modern Pentecostal movement that began in the early 1900s when the Oneness groups formed after breaking off from the early Assembly of God people. The Oneness movement was birthed in ignorance of the English language and the meaning of "in the name of" being that of authority, not the words you speak. These same people say that when Jesus was praying in the Garden that there was no Father in heaven to receive his prayer and he only prayed like that as an example for us. These extreme views that one must speak in tongues to be saved, and that if the preacher said "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost" instead of "In the name of Jesus" then you are not saved yet and need to get baptized over again, and that There is no Father but Jesus should give you enough warning that you have joined a cult and you should do everything within your power to escape and have nothing to do with these false teachings. I believe in speaking in tongues today however it is not evidence of having been born again it is indeed a sign of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is given to all who ask and receive by faith to receive as the power to be witnesses and includes other gifts of the Holy Spirit such as prophecy etc. One does not have to prophesy or give a word of knowledge to be saved either. It is sad that people have been deceived into believing such doctrine as taught by the Oneness Pentecostals but please understand that they are far outnumbered by those Pentecostals who do not teach or make these ignorant statements that originated by backwoods uneducated hillbillies from Arkansas. (my apologies to those from Arkansas), Remember that when Jesus breathed on them and said Receive the Holy Spirit at least ten days before the Baptism of the Holy Spirit makes it clear that one receives the Holy Spirit for regeneration and being born again before they receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for power for ministry.

Who claims that modern-day prophetic messages are additions to Scripture? If you can't quote anyone here who claims this, then please dispense with this ridiculous and unfounded accusation.

By definition, Prophetic messages are an addition to scripture. If God gives a person a word, he is giving them scripture.

Actually as a genuine Spirit-filled Pentecostal speaking in tongues Christian I am directly taught by the Spirit of truth who dwells
within me.
And I also enjoy being taught much by the gifts of prophecy at our meetings wherein God does speak to his church.
Glad to hear that sir.
I too am a Spirit-filled tongue talking, WOF sword wielding, heaven healing, demon dumping/casting out/off, power punching with the word/promises of God through the name of Jesus, son of God.
I personally, have also received revelation knowledge, many many times, and revelations of people's personal lives, including knowing what they are thinking and feeling inside, not through other people's revelations, and have heard the voice of God once and smaller voices, many other times.
My wife goes beyond that, where she prophesies and sees or has visions of people's pass, present, and future.
I know God does new things, but I have yet to hear or have Him move outside His word.
When my wife prophesies, a scripture verse usually comes with it.
As for me, without fail, God has always told or given me a scripture verse with an explanation of the revelation. Always! Even telling me, what to me was, preposterous and frightening, at times, and things hard to believe. But each time I doubted or questioned what I heard, He would give or tell me yet another verse with the same revelation with a brief explanation.
God can be very persuasive and hard to argue against or doubt, when He wants us to know some things.
We are told to test or try the spirits, which includes the one's we hear from, because most of us don't always know who or what is talking to us. But the longer we walk with God and the closer our walk is with Him, the better we become at knowing who or what is doing the talking.
There are times when we hear from our own hidden man, the heart, or from our own spirit man and think it was God speaking to us.
Most of the time, it sounds like I am talking to myself, as though it's my own voice speaking to me.
I personally know people who said, "God said...", when they were way off and would later have to retract what they said, or make an excuse as to why they changed their mind or what they did, or why a situation took place when they said it wouldn't or the other way around.
This coming from the people saying the same thing as us. That being, they are tongue talking, Spirit filled Christians, and the like.
The simple truth is, it wasn't God in the first place.
Which isn't to say they are not of God, but it could be an indication of sin in their life or they need to seek God longer concerning the source of the voice they are hearing from. However, I would question their status, if they are in error constantly or continually missing the mark.
I Personally judge others who say they are Christian, based on my knowledge and understanding of the word of God.
One who is not of God, though they may think they are, will not be able to, or are incapable of, and literally CANNOT receive the whole truth or even some parts of some truths, which equates to error or a lie. And what they have received, they will speak, for, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, or in this case, they write.
So my stance on hearing from God is, revelation is good, but the word of God is a more sure word of prophecy, and make sure the word we hear doesn't negate, made to be a lie, or supersede the written word of God.
And the point of my first post, saying his argument was weak, was simply the fact that the guy didn't use scripture to backup what he said.
You might think I'm being a hypocrite at this point, but if you were to ask me to backup the things I said with scripture, I would be able to and would do so.
The word of God MUST be our foundation on which our house of faith stands. Without it as our solid rock, upon which we stand, we WILL fall.
