If you are going to go into that type of detail then why are you stopping short and not following all the way through to continue on and explain about the Hebrew particle "eth before each to distinguish between Gen1:1 (The creation that then was from 2 Pet 3) and Gen 2:1?
Strong's Concordance
eth: untranslatable mark of the accusative case.

Original Word: אֵת
Part of Speech: Untranslatable mark of the accusative; mark of accusative
Transliteration: eth
Phonetic Spelling: (ayth)
Definition: untranslatable mark of the accusative case

So let's move on to what Peter was actually saying:

2 PETER 3
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Peter is addressing the attitude of scoffers, who had refused to take Scripture seriously and claimed that nothing had changed on earth since the beginning of creation. From the context it would appear that they dismissed the global Flood (Deluge) at the time Noah as a myth or fable. Peter said that this was wilful ignorance of Bible truth. The facts of the matter were:

...by the Word of God the heavens were of old...
1. The heavens (plural) and the earth were created by the Word of God out of nothing. God spoke and it was done. This corresponds to Hebrew 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. "Were of old" simply refers to the Creation Account.

...and [the earth] in the water...
2. The earth was originally submerged in, and surrounded by, water. This corresponds to Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void (Heb tohu wa bohu = formless and empty); and darkness was upon the face of the deep (the deep = the oceans). And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (the surface of the earth was simply water, since the land was submerged under the waters, and the Holy Spirit was active in creation).

On the first day of creation, the earth was was simply a formless and empty mass surrounded by water. Then on each successive day, changes were made to ensure that everything created was "very good" (perfect).

...and the earth standing out of the water...
3. Then God separated the dry land from the oceans, and He also set bounds to the oceans as we know from other Scriptures. So we have this stated in Gen 1:9,10: And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

... the world that then was being overflowed with water, perished...
4. This is obviously a reference to the Genesis Flood, which took place c 2348 BC (or about 4,370 years ago).

Then Peter goes on to say that (since God had promised never to destroy the earth again with water), the future destruction of the earth would be by supernatural fire.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

So Peter is simply confirming what is revealed in Genesis and confirmed in the Ten Commandments.

That's what we thought. It didn't come from the bible.

I personally don't accept any authority about the bible besides the bible. The bible is the final authority regarding the bible. The rest including my own are just opinions, speculations and educated guesses. The Bible is the final word about the word.
Was this addressed to me? Mine was a general comment to DeighAnn, not a specific comment about "heavens". I can provide scriptural references on that issue if you'd like.

You! If you can provide scriptural proof of a walled city existing in Nod before Cain it would reinforce my hypothesis.

Can you elaborate, I really do not know what you mean by this?

Did God start again?
The premise is two different families of man, Adam being a more modern man (Homo sapiens) and a different creation than the first man. The genus includes the extinct species H. habilis, H. erectus, and H. heidelbergensis as well as the Neanderthals (H. neanderthalensis). The earlier form of Homo sapiens are called Cro-Magnon, and H. naledi, which may be the oldest known member of the genus.

That is not what is being spoken of. Because GOD TELLS US HE DID NOT CREATE IT "TOHU" IT BECAME THAT WAY. AND this is what they are willingly ignorant of. Satan WAS ALREADY BAD IN THE GARDEN. When did THAT HAPPEN. When did Satan Go Bad? When did GOD create Him? When did Satan draw 1/3 of Gods Children? WHEN did GOD cry destruction upon destruction and there WAS NO, not one, definitely not 8, NO MAN, yet not make a full end? WHEN DID He make the Heaven BLACK? And the earth standing in the water?

If He created it to be inhabited, and it was, and all the sons and stars sang and shouted, and Lucifer/Satan was good but went bad and God got mad and He says He destroyed it to the point there was NO MAN, and He turned the heavens black, yet did not make a full end, and then in GEN 1 2 we read "it was void and without form" and He had to light it up and when He did and when the waters were separated THE LAND APPEARED because it was already there.

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

Isaiah 45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me;

OK I was using Genesis as my study base. I think what you posted deserves more study. I bookmarked it for myself so I can study it further. In my spare time most likely tomorrow. Thank you, I will give it study and consideration.

I only gave a small aspect of the whole thing dr brown said, it is to large to fit here

It debunked the origioanl theory of which you positions holds to begin with, If the root of yoru argument is flawed. The rest most likely has issues too.
Too funny, again one very specific problem of the accelerated rate of decay and the radiation the would be emitted and how the earth would survive is speculative, stating that certain isotopes created by the p. effect would absorb a lot of the heat is a streeeeetch!

After reading some of his work he really has not rigorously demonstrated that his mechanisms would apply during a Flood, or generate the specific decay rates he needs, let alone eliminate the heat problem.

This scientist has not submitted any of his work to be peer reviewed, as a mechanical engineer he should surely know the credibility that is necessary and that peer reviewed journals are the only way for his work to be taken seriously within the scientific community.

A credible scientist is the one that is cited and it hard to accept his work as rigorous out side of that process.

If the earth is old as generally believed it still is a separate topic from evolution for me.

You better check out what bible you are using because within the first 7 words there is a mistake. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. It isn't until Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them that we find HEAVENS plural.
My point was not about creation but creation from waters.

Like how you put red x's on most everything I said? You are unreasonable and hypocritical to the max.

I am free to continue countering your lies while you hide.
Young earth is a disgrace, totally, utterly and compleatly.
