I believe the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus is not really a parable at all, but a truth of Paradise with 2 sides which would explain how the thief could be in paradise with Him today and He could preach to those in prison.
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
