Yes it happens quite often that way.
The impact of this school of thought.... tragic.
Sometimes I wonder what would Edwards, Spurgeon, Barns, Gill, Henry etc., etc., think of all this, the way things are piecemealed together to fit a political modern day narrative. :(
This is what happens when Christians don't get the time framework of Bible prophecy correct. The old covenant and law passed away a long time ago and so God does not have a special relationship with ethnic Jewish people anymore.

I'm not sure what those men would think about modern day Israel but I believe Spurgeon was a premillennialist so he was trying to make things physical too. It is an easy mistake to make.

Agree....I just add the names of bible teachers to show that the dispensationalism of Darby and Scofield is a relatively new idea and we are not the heretics they think we are because many prior to Darby and Scofield were not futurists.

But I really do wonder what they would think.... I am sure some would find some parts of futurism completely heretical... LOL

Hilariously sad...the end came and went in 70 A.D.....one hell of a Kingdom we are in now....2000 years of death, misery, war, disease, rise of evil, famines and the world going to hell in a hand basket....Jesus must have failed in his mission, the bible must be a joke because this is nothing like what was described to happen at the end of the age.....but hey....time marches on in this Kingdom of God on earth hey!!!

I really do not think that is what is being stated.... the age of the old covenant came to an end and we are in a new covenant age...it is more about viewing Jesus as victorious over sin, offering a new life, defeating Satan.....this is why the Gospel is so important to get out to the world.

lol, look at post #181-182 then look at the questions in the first 2-3 pages of the thread. Why is that me nor DC(maybe others) are "pre trib." and neither you nor delirious see that and are debating us a if we are all pre-trib.

Pre-trib refers to the rapture right?

Pre-trib refers to the rapture right?

correct "before the great tribulation" begins=pre-trib,,,,,,,,,,,, post tribulation is after the great tribulation and before the wrath of God begins(meaning the GT takes place before the rapture)...

You want it to be about sacrifices, it doesn’t say that at all, it reads as it is, morning and evening one day.
Here, you are simply supplying the word "day" (that is not in the text)… so you are making it to say, "2300 evenings mornings DAYS"... I'm not doing that, I'm simply supplying [in bracketed comment], "2300 evenings mornings [sacrifices]" [count 2300 of THOSE] (I tend to believe this would have fallen precisely BETWEEN two very specific calendar dates [equaling 1150 days], in the Hebrew calendar of the time--I'm not sure others [with differing views] could say the same).

WHY would "I WANT" it to be one or the other? Are you just assuming that I think this verse refers to our future (as opposed to past event, back then)? or what??

I'm simply comparing this phrase "evenings mornings" [with no word "DAY" accompanying it] to elsewhere, where used (and it's used in reference to the evening and morning sacrifices ['perpetual'/'dailies'] written of in those contexts... and Daniel does mention one in 9:21, so this is not as far-fetched as you seem to think it is ;) )

And just maybe the Christians have dropped the ball according our role on this planet... by following teachers that have promoted a false political agenda over the past 100 years or so.

In the end the difference between preterism and futurism is its heart is politics is it not?

In the orthodox preterist view rapture is not even in the discussion.

[as a pre-tribber here :D ] I think it's more accurate to say that "the GREAT tribulation" refers solely to the second half of the 7 years, so "pre-trib [rapture]" (INSTEAD) refers to "before the entire 7-yr period" (not just before the second half/The GREAT trib)... get 'er straight! :D

"[rapture] before the GREAT tribulation" refers to "mid-tribbers" [viewpoint] ;)

ok i'm post trib so I'll take your opinion. The point I was making to UG is in that Delirious and UG argue as if only debating with pre-trib(which seems to be to their disadvantage,lol)...

I'm not sure what you mean by "piecemealed" together or a "political modern day narrative", but the commentators you mention were all committed to Preterism, or Historicism or Amillennnialism (which originated with the Catholic Church). Therefore their eschatology would be seriously flawed. Generally politics has nothing to do with eschatology .

I understand but in preterism the tribulation has already occured.

Mr SoandSo your knowledge is very deep and wide I respect that.....I also respect that you can actually engage in a conversation on this topic without scoffing, you are a real gentleman. :)

But sadly I cannot keep up with you ...I have already tried LOL

Well, if you do a deep study of Mr. Scofield and John Darby and how they developed their commentaries and why .. that would be my reference for piecemealed
