True story.
Less than a week ago, my family and I received an urgent message about 10 or 11 o'clock at night from the wife of a couple we know, whom we consider family, whom we have known for about 30 year, asking us if we would call, as they do not live in the US.
My wife called her, and when she answered, she was crying, saying she didn't know where her husband was and was very worried about him.
She said it had been 4 hrs since he dropped her off at work and hasn't called since.
She was worried because her husband was very faithful to call her when he got home, every time.
We prayed, my wife called back after a couple of minutes, if that, because she was getting in her spirit all was good, and when she answered, she was no longer crying, and said, he was at the police station.
We weren't able to get much of the details until the next day from her husband, whom we spoke to directly.
And even though it is not my place to tell his story, but for the sake of glorifying God, and the fact he doesn't go on any social media, this is just the highlights of what he told us.
But before I go into his story, I would just like to give a small understanding of what this guy is like.
If you were to meet him, you would say he is the nicest, sweetest, most meek, mild mannered, humble, caring, loving, godlike person you know .
Simply the best person you could know and have as a friend.
What happened was, on his way home, two men blocked the path of his car and stopped him at gunpoint.
As soon as he saw the men, he started to pray the 91st and 23rd psalms and a few others.
They started out by tying his hands and feet and placing him in the trunk of his own car.
Drove him to a very secluded place they called, the bush.
He said, at one point, he saw both a demon and an angel of God talking to the men, and said the angel won.
He said they held the gun to both his forehead and neck, telling him they were hired and sent to kill him, and said they were going to do just that.
And he said they were both getting upset because he had no fear, and the fact he didn't plead for his life or scream for help in fear or tell them how much he wanted to live or to see his family, "like all the other people" did, whom they were hired to kill or murder.
He said, they never ruffed him up or beat him or hurt him in any way.
Something unheard of in his country, which made his story unbelievable to some of his family members.
The gunmen in the end said they would let him go because he was such a nice guy, but he had to pay them. And since he didn't have any money, they took the car instead and left him in the bush, telling him to lie low and get out of the country, because if he didn't, they would come back to his house, for they scoped him out for a month and knew everything about him and family, and would kill not only him, but all his family members as well.
The following day we found out, after the gunmen left, they stopped off at a gas station to get gas for his car, and both shot and killed the station attendant, because they had no money for the gas. According to witnesses, both the car and gunmen fit his description of them.
Our friend said the gunmen spilled almost all the beans, so to speak, all but who hired them, because they were so confused as to what to do with him, until they finally let him go.
He said he believes he knows who it is, because there is one guy who has been threatening to kill him everyday he goes to work, and that was simply out of envy.
At one point, he asked the men if they knew Jesus, and they told him not to preach to them or they would make sure he would meet his maker right then and there.
Something we thought was funny. To ask gunmen if they know Jesus?
Anyway, I am glad to report, God delivered our friend and bother from hired assassins out to kill him.
There was much more that transpired, but I'll keep it brief.
So why did God save our good friend from the hired killers?
I believe it is because, without fail, he starts out his day in prayer, FAITHFULLY, and walks with God throughout the day, had no fear, and was fully persuaded with complete confidence and faith in God to fulfill His word or promises to him.
I believe, if he were like most of us, they would have killed him, like they did the gas attendant.
They still haven't found the car yet, but he is confident the killers will bring it back to him for the sake of being tormented by the angels of God.
If any of you were in a similar situation, would you call on God and pray in faith, or fear for your life?
Would you boldly stand on God's word, without fear, in the face of adversity, or would you be like the rest of the people they killed, screaming in fear, with your attention on all the natural things going on around you and on all the, what ifs, and negative possibilities or outcomes?
What I wrote and the way I wrote our friend's story, doesn't come close to giving justice to what God did for him, or for the way he told it, or for the things he went through, as it was far better the way he told it to us, than I could write it.
I just wanted to give God glory and to let some know, He still moves to protect His children from the wicked and from dangers.
