I wanted to start a thread for the non-scholar, simple minded, that truly love the Bible, and the Faith. With friendly humor and a place where the misfits belong. You know who you are misfits. The Seventh Day Adventist, Messianic Believers, a non-mainstream voice, or no real identity with a church. If this sounds like you, this is your chance to share your faith in Christ and your understanding of scriptures. Please don't be dogmatic or overbearing. With that in mind, I'm not sure where to begin.

Let me think here.....

Still thinking....

Ummmm.....

O.k., what about the beginning? When did you find out you just don't belong to the mainstream of the Christian church?

I know there was many times things didn't really click for me going to the popular churches. For instance the pre-trib rapture that I was first indoctrinated with my early beginnings of going to Calvary Chapel. I was really interested in believing everything the church was teaching, but I just wanted to see the scriptures. When I asked the Bible teacher where the verses were, it didn't really make sense at all. So, I started on the path of the unknown finding the truth that made sense to me. The post tribulation rapture made much more sense to me, among other things.

That was really the doctrine that set my sails to the unknown. I was sorted of raptured out of blindly following the church to what it taught. No regrets! The path I went wasn't very clear, nor viewed by my friends, family, and fellow church goers as acceptable to say the least. Haven't really put all the pieces together as of yet, but I feel I'm better off setting my sails to the unknown. My walk with God has been a journey and always left pondering where I fit in.

Now your turn, I can keep going, but if there someone else out there the would like to share, the floor is yours so to speak.

You been around with this Screen Name for over six years............ Not a lot of activity during that time. What? A total of 294 posts in six years? I guess you really are on a journey into the unknown........ :)

Do you have other Screen Names here?

(just wondering, it's ok if you do ya know.....)

294 divided by six, divided by 12 equals just over 4 posts a month.....

I was mostly a chatter and not a forum user. Chat has really out grown me over the years, so I switched to forums. You may see me for a few months this year, than maybe offline for a year or so, or maybe something different. 2013 was really a fun year for chat.

Never came in as another user, except for maybe as a guest in chat, before I logged in. Do I remind you of someone? Lynx said, that I remind him of about 5 different people. You can ask Robo about me, if you need a reference.

I do hope my thread is not about me, but about what was posted in the opening post.

Congratulations on your 30 posts per month!!!! You have bested me for most posts.

Hi kinda,

(You can't run too far...... I'll find you! lol!(y))

Great thread! I love it! I do think we all feel like misfits at various times. Fellowship with each other, whether we agree or not is still good for us. Everyone has something to contribute to the whole - God designed us that way.

Eventually, the feeling of being a misfit gets less and less because we learn to love no matter what and we find our place and identity "in Christ" where we are loved and accepted by Him.

I love how you're "in motion" meaning you're searching and reading the scriptures and asking questions and looking for the answers - looking for the truth. Excellent!

Yeshua/Jesus is the Truth. Stay with Him. Keep reading your Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to explain it to you. He will teach you and guide you - sounds like He already has been.

The post trib makes more sense to me, too...... Enjoy your journey, you are not alone. There are many of us (misfits).

Thanks Laffter!

I can tell right away that your friendly. You may even have some humor judging by your screen name. Are you Messianic by chance, since you refer to our savior as Yeshua?

It amazes and dismays how some folks are able to fault just some denominations, and not their own.

Ask yourself if Jesus would go by the name of your denomination. I meanwould he call Himself a Baptist, a Mormon, and SDA, a Methodist, or maybea scholar or an intellectual.

For all the children of the Most High God, all I can say is you need to extend mercy, understandign and wisdom to those you consider lessr than you, oh,and learn that you are not so high and mighty. All love and blessings in Jesus, Yeshua.

It is quite ridiculous, I personally think people accuse me of other people, because they don't like me. It's o.k., I'm apparently am uneducated and unwanted. Hence the misfits thread. When I first joined chat, it was the same thing. "You are someone else!" Lafftur your o.k. in my book, so thanks for being a friend.

I do hope there are some Messianic believers, we are generally scorned for our law keeping beliefs.

Yes, I believe JaumeJ is a Messianic. Awesome! Thanks for posting. Not trying to start a division, but leave space for the unwanted.

I'm whatever Yeshua/Jesus is......that's all I know.

I like to say Yeshua/Jesus because Yeshua is what He was called while He was on the Earth. The name Jesus was given later but, I do like it too because I grew up calling Him Jesus. So, now I say them both.

I've been to different Messianic churches - they're fun. I've been to pretty much all of the denominations - even the "non-denominational" ones. They're all fun. Right and wrong in all of them. But, like us - we're under construction and God's not finished yet.

I don't knock anybody down in regards to their denomination. I've learned to just stay focused on Yeshua/Jesus and God's love for me and them - saved and unsaved.

I do love to laugh!!!:ROFL::love::giggle:(y)

Awesome! So, you know exactly what I'm talking about then?!?! And your super friendly....This has a friendship in the making. Well, what doctrines or ideas got looking in the uncommon path of the faith? Would love to hear how you transitioned to different churches. I'm gonna try to hit the hay now, it's so late. Look forward for any responses or posts in the thread.

My faith has always been the faith of Abraham as given and taught by Jesus, Yeshua.

You have not obliged this confession, but again, you should be reminded of your inadequacy in discerning and assessing the faith of others, not your department, not mine either except in regards to fellowshipping.

For me it was during a time of prayer alone at home. I was attending a nondenominational church at the time, but the doctrine of that church was Baptist, as the Pastor was indoctrinated at a Baptist college.

That church taught that God poured his wrath out on Jesus at the cross. I asked God if that was true. I heard no voice, but a thought came to me that wasn't my own which said, "No, mankind did." That really shook me. In short, I began to reread the Bible from that perspective and it makes far more sense to me now.

Thanks for the thread kinda.

Happy Trails. One day everything will make sense, until then. Hopefully, the thread has some good. I like to kick and punch and blow things up in life, so there is room to live. Sort of like this thread. When every one is talking over people and the topic is so out of line where I'm at, just need to find space. It wouldn't of surprised me if no one posted here, glad you did. I still can't sleep.

Well, thanks for the rebuke. I will probably be inadequate all my life, but God finds a way to surprise even the biggest of skeptics. Honestly, your talking over my. head, but it's o.k.. I managed to get through school, work, and life not knowing what people are talking about. It's a good thing for surfing, it was really the only time I wasn't constantly criticized, graded, measured, or taught.

Keep the rebukes coming, it's how misfits get their name. I honestly can't imagine a world where people just accepted me. It would freak me out.

Perhaps I have misunderstood your intentions in your posting, though what is containted in my responses applies, to me and to all.

You just be true to our Salvation, and it does not matter what I misunderstand, the One Who Is will always understand you. God bless you always...

Good morning from me to you all! Blessings in Jesus name! None of us are "misfits" so to speak but I get your point! I was always taught by my Mother about Jesus and His love! I didn't become indoctrinated until I was 19 and joined a very strict Pentecostal church! I was there for 17 yrs.,taught Sunday school, chaired a Young Ladies ministry and worked heartily for my denomination! I was so blessed to have revelations from God thru the leadership of the Holy Spirit and I treasure what He has taught me. One day I began to look at the restrictions placed upon the children of God and became very dissatisfied with what I was seeing! This began my own journey away from "what I had been taught" to what God is saying! I believe there is NO salvation in a church building and the many denominal beliefs separate the " Bride of Christ"! It took another 17 yrs. for the Spirit to work thru the boundaries that had been placed in my life to be torn down. Mind you I would not trade what I have learned about the fullness of God for anything for being there showed me how to receive the Holy Ghost and how to allow Him to be my comforter and guide in all God wants and gives to us! I have been to many forms of worship services over the years. God "sets apart" a people from all kinds of FAITH,those that truly want to follow only Him and live by what he instructs, rather than man's interpretation! My faith walk,my trials and my blessings are now ordered by His will to produce a child fit for His kingdom! I truly am least among many and am happy to be named among the bride! We are to ....examine ourselves daily....pray without ceasing......search the scriptures and.......show His LOVE! God reveals to those that seek and will never let us wander in darkness! HE IS AN AWESOME GOD,and we are FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULL MADE IN HIS IMAGE! ....... Blessings!🙏🙏🙏

Me too
I dont fit in anywhere, I would be the one outside tending the flower beds, or in many cases, lack of them, on the church grounds. Maybe Im a quaker, I dont know, was never one for the huge hype of many churches. It would be gloriously sunny and beautiful outisde, but many churches would be like going inside a cave of darkness and my ear would hurt from the feedback.
Or if I did go inside, i would be at the church library checking they still have Bibles there, not left behind novels.
