It Is A Gift Of God Not And Not Works,
We are not to boast because it is not something we earned
but rather it was a gift from God. So is that it, are we all done
now, we can just wander around with the joy of being saved.
I suppose that could be a legitimate choice but if that was all
then why did God send Jesus. Absolutely and unequivocally
Jesus came to save us for we all needed to be saved. So He
did not come to save only those who are good since none are
as scripture says. He came to save us to help us become
good and become in our hearts; His children. So He sent His
Son, Jesus to give us example of the way we should live and
imitate since Jesus proclaimed, I am the way, the truth and the
life so that means what we see in Him, we should be like Him.
Even thinking ahead; God always does, He knew we would
make mistakes so He gave us the gift of forgiveness, that is
how much He loved us. He is a God of redemption and when
we err we need to repent and come to Him for His forgiveness.
After accepting His forgiveness, we now start over. But we
cannot keep wilfully sinning, each time that we are
forgiven, improvement in our spirit should be our guide.
