Repenting is having a genuine sorrow for your sinful behavior... I find this easy compared to what it is I should place my belief in when there are so many divisions in the truth of God's Will concerning the saving grace proposed in Christ?

The response to your title question is pretty direct and that is to believe Jesus Christ is th eOnly Begotten of the Father ad the Firstborn of the Dead. If we believe Him, we learn from Him and not from flesh.

During the 4 Gospels era, as a Jew, you have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. For the Jews, under the Gospel of the Kingdom then, they had to believe in that, the identity of Jesus, to be saved. (John 20:31)

But for all of us now, we believe in the death burial resurrection of Jesus, as Paul stated in 1 Cor 15, that is what saves us now, believing in the finished works of Jesus.

John 16:8-11 is necessary for you to know Who you should believe in to be saved. Romans 10:9-10 tells you what you need to know.

Believing Jesus is believing His teachings..

Trusting that the Atonement secured by Jesus on the cross secures for us the forgiveness of our sins and entry into Gods Eternal perfect existence..

So for me it is simple..

If we focus on the Gospels and the letters of the NT we can (with the guidance of the Holy Spirit ) place our belief more easily then if we spend out time listening to preachers with their own personal twists on Interpretation the Word of God..

It's the difference between a church based Christian and a Bible based Christian..

Repentance is a turning in our mind from our way to His way. We repent or turn when the Father calls us, or draws us to Christ. The turn is simply a response to acknowledge the caller.

Why are you focusing on divisions instead of Christ? Here is what He Himself declared:

Jesus said unto her [Martha], I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25,26)

Not a very good definition of what "repenting" is. Just saying. Try doing a "search" of the word repent and find the Biblical definition and study that.

BTW........there is only 1 Truth.........now, granted, people can mess it up and all, but all you have to do is BELIEVE Jesus is who He says He is. Seek Him..............give your life to Him.

You can find a lot of this on your own simply by "searching" the Internet.........put in your question and click on "enter."

Here, I'll give you an example of what you can find, and how you can learn............

ALL NEED TO REPENT:

EVEN THE CHURCH IS IN NEED OF REPENTANCE..........Some have strayed from the Gospel of Christ, some have failed to do what God purposed them to do, some have not kept the Commandments of Faith established by Christ during His Ministry here on earth, and some go about to and fro seeking to cause distrust and disruptions within the Church Body.

The very first sermon Jesus preached was:

Matthew 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Acts 3:19 - Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Peter 3:9 - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Luke 13:3 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 17:30 - And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Ezekiel 18:21-23 - But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. (Read More...)

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.

Romans 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

More directly, I was wondering on what I needed to believe about Christ that is the true Christ.
Did he handle it or is there other duties I need to accomplish in my belief?

No you don't, you were saved on the Cross 2000 years ago just like I was,Paul was,Peter was,Abraham,Enoch(the list goes on). What goes on though is that people say "Jesus is my Savior" because everyone else is saying it but don't really believe what their saying.

Look at the second sentence in your post,,,"Did he handle it?"(means your not sure whether to believe it or not),,,then "or" "is there other duties (I) need to accomplish in my...."(means again your not sure if he saved you or not)...

If not then you see it is easy to get carried away with thinking he did not save you on the Cross and so your mind is going to have you do everything it thinks you need to to "get saved". By analogy those who don't believe he did are thirsty, hungry, afraid and lost in the midst of endless works to achieve salvation.

On the other those who do believe he saved them on the Cross are at rest from their works of salvation. They have had their prayers answered and no longer need to struggle with it. They thank him for it while those who don't believe it try to figure out whats left to be done and cant thank him(they dont believe it).

But now is this that I said universal salvation or is it that Jesus saved you on the Cross and many deny it and try to save their own selves because they don't believe he did then? The difference you see is that although he did save them/us, many deny it and you can see who does by watching them.

Yes He handled it 100% on the cross for you..... IF you believe Jesus and trust that He handled it 100% on the cross for you...

Once people start to believe they have to add to what Jesus did and think that Jesus did not 100% handle it then they have LOST IT and Jesus will be doing Nothing for them on the day of Judgement..

Hi S1, your asking the right question and the wrong question at the same time.

If your serious about knowing the answer, you'll have to commit to a discussion between you and I. If we do it here, it will attract alot of people who won't agree. I'll do it here or in private, just let me know.

Part of repenting is having sorrow for your sinful behavior.

The other part of repenting is turning to the Only One who can fix this situation.

After coming to Christ, repentance becomes turning from your ways (which are the cause of your sorrow for your sinful behavior) and turning to Christ and His Way.

Abiding in Christ and believing He is the Only Way you can be perfected.

If you believe that you can do it on your own by your own works and your own will and strength then you won't repent. You won't turn to Christ.

I think a big part of coming to Christ, which is repentance, is to stop being so self aware and instead become Christ Aware. Stop looking at how bad you may be and start looking at how good Christ is.

I don't have a paid membership to do it privately, but I posted this thread in part to determine the resistance and quantity of people who have it misconstrued. God called me and gave me knowledge of the truth, righteousness and power of his word.
The God I worship is one who saves with power and authority for His name's sake.
I have roughly 15,000 hours studying the word of God in pursuit of the truth. I have only used reference Bible and the spirit for this. No commentary, notes, opinions. Just the word of God sharpening the word of God.
I want to take a battle axe to Satan's kingdom. I want to expose all the lies and delusions in the modern corporations they try to label a "House of God".
I want to help to try and decrease the "many" who will be sent from the presence of my lord Jesus Christ on that day.
Not sure how or exactly when yet, but God will reveal it to me
I know that God chose me to be written in the book of life somewhere in eternity past. Nothing will change that. There are soooo many things people don't understand in the truth of the word of God. It literally is still like trging to put old wine into new wineskins thanks to the centuries of lies from Satan, and people taking on the title of preachers and teachers to fulfill their own way and desires.
I am called, and I may be wrong, but I feel I'm ready for battle.
All of you who are heavy laden with the burden of uncertainty, come to my God (the Father of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) and let him free your mind and heart to know that he is a God of love and power, and will pardon your sins and blot out your iniquities for his glory and name.
Learn the truth and power of the only true living God, and be made free.
