Let us all pray for Him, in hopes for the Lords revealing in His mind and heart. He has openly confessed his shaken faith. I pray He asks the Lord to forgive His unbelief and that He seeks the Lord of hosts.

After reading the article it sounds like he never really trusted the Word of God.

I'm not having a go at the guy, nor is it a personal attack on him, he doesn't need our criticism nor should we be having a heart to give it but it is somewhat in line with my thoughts on singing to God and the songs that we sing both personal and corporately.

For years now I've come to the place where the songs that I sing need to come from my heart and from my own revelation of who God is. Mindlessly singing some songs that someone else has written or what other people think we should sing and how we should sing it, when we should start and when we should stop should not be the way. Anyone can write lyrics, and we don't necessarily know the heart of the writers and I think this is a good example of that and a real issue with the institutional church.

The song All I need is You....

A pastor stopped the song service and said he wasn’t in agree with the song.

First time anyone ever did that when I was in attendance. Said we need many things in this life and then I thought about Maslows hierarchy of need.

They are not believers, they are there to make money. Satan is leading them. This is the enemies way of discouraging those that are at Hillsong looking for answers

You know.....a couple of verses come to mind....

They went out from us because they were never of us.

and lest we forget.....before the BODY PRESENCE (COMING/PAROUSIA) of Christ and our gathering together unto him two things will take place.....PAUL was clear....2nd Thessalonians 2

a. APO-HYSTAMIE <---apostasy from the truth
b. The MAN of SIN, SON of PERDITION being revealed

LOOK....we CANNOT assume or believe that EVERYONE that names CHRIST is of CHRIST and I am reminded of the so called Christian rock bad Stryper....the songs they sang were so ambiguous that the could have easily been applied to worldly rock music with enough JESUS blended in to claim the status of Christian rock band......

I watched HILLSONG once and I could not help but think of Stryper and their conflation of worldly rock with a lemon twist of JESUS added for flavor......

I am a believer.....I have had a hard life...lost two children, went through drugs in the 80's, been a Marine, lost friends and family members, have a handicapped son, been without money and in the wilderness, also retired at 45 and have plenty, have gained friends and lost friends over ignorance, have had my dad killed at three, had three abusive step dads etc....BEEN through a living hell on earth and I have NEVER once thought about quitting JESUS or walking away from MY FAITH......

I have a hard time believing that a genuine saved child of GOD will actually quit JESUS and renounce faith......NOW ONE that was NEVER SAVED.....I can see that NO PROBLEM......

Evidently he was involved in the Pentecostal Church. I would have "shaky faith" too.

"Why is the Bible full of contradictions? No one talks about it. How can God be love yet send four billion people to a place, all ‘coz they don’t believe? No one talks about it," he wrote. Wow. Well, he obviously never hung out at Christian Chat :giggle: Or watched any youtube videos dealing with that subject matter, or talked to anyone anywhere at any time about things that matter to him, and to many others as well... and yet he also says, "You cannot have well-educated opinions without educating yourself well.":oops:

Not surprised. All these hellsong guys are fake, phony and most of all SOFT

Men are too effeminate to handle the doctrine of hell(and a bunch of other doctrines) in 2019 in these mega churches. JUST CANT TAKE IT. They refuse to believe it. The only verses that mattter is John 3:16, use a little wine timothy for your stomach and everyone's favorite: DONT JUDGE, add in a bit of God is love and bam. YOu got the 2019 redacted bible edition, eartickling special.

I am glad to hear he quit faking the funk, now I wish and pray he would get saved FOR REAL

I will give everyone a great spiritual insight that will instantly weed out the biggest phony preachers: IF they are respected by the world today, you can bet on it. Shut it down

Sadly this is what is produced from the prosperity church, a man shaken at the core of what he believes because he wasn't taught sound doctrine and solid universal truths from the Gospel.
Revivalism has abandoned yet another poor soul to suffer with real questions not answered, and he don't even know enough to find real answers.

The senior pastor of Hillsong Church has released a statement countering allegations that he believes Muslims and Christians worship the same God.

The criticism was levelled against Houston after a clip from one of his recent sermons, during which he seemed to suggest that Allah and God are one and the same, went viral on the web.

Why, what's wrong with Pentecostals that would give them shaky faith?

I understand his thinking. I was someone who use to bounce back and forth between, science and faith.

The problem I ran into with science and medicine was, it has always changed through time. Just when a revolutionary discovery is announced, in 20 years, a new one begins and the endless search never seems to hit bedrock, internally, for me.

The Bible was written a long time ago and to believers, it is still totally relevant in 2019.... Read a medical book from 200 years ago, and see how much has changed.

Another notable issue: Not knowing what the future will bring, is an inescapable dilemma on both sides.

Saw a friend of mine about post this, I've lately become quite suspicious of big name worship groups.

I sincerely liked the song Hosanna when I was 16 at summer camp. Was one of the few songs that really got me into a private worship mindset, despite being a group setting. I don't know if any of you have had similar worship experiences...but it's like I wanted to be alone by myself and it felt kind of selfish. Quite confusing...

It is fleeting what I felt back then...Hillsong was definitely overplayed. It's like each year they wanted to play the new one that came out and get everybody interested in it. Twas annoying at the time. I'm still trying to figure out how I felt about "Happy day" by Hillsong.

I think that was the one that I just couldn't jive with...or at least it felt forced and I kind of stopped and was like...what's so great about this song? I often wrestled with that in youth group...like what are we even singing? Do I really believe this? Am I just singing along, do I truly mean it?

Some songs I just wouldn't sing. My heart wasn't there and it felt like I was lying and it was just lip service. Others were my jam...

I'm still pretty fond of "I'll fly away" though ;)

Had so much fun surprisingly when I was at this revival in rural south Ga almost 2 years ago.

Thanks for the thread...allowed me to give it some more thought.

Yeah totally agree mate.

Even looking back on bloodletting should cause anyone to give a bit of pause to accepting our knowledge as reliable. I think it's amazing though, looking at things with an open mind, how much we truly have no idea about medically. The deeper we dig, the more hopeless things can look...that's why resting in the Lord is the only real solution.

The last is a good point also. We do have an outline at least. As well as step-by-step instructions...but each of us has their own personal race to run...and what a time to run it, eh?
