Im sure you read about Marty Sampson renouncing his faith?

This becomes shaky ground as to know who really believes and who doesnt. But in the case with Marty Sampson, was he a believer before he renounced his "faith"?
i don't know who that is.

i'll look it up, tho, and check in again later. :)

You are correct, no one is yet in Gehenna/hell. But the wicked have been pouring into Hades translated as hell 24/7 throughout all history. Here is the list of words translated as "Hell" posted from post #82

Tartaroo/Tartartus = This word is only found once in scripture. It is the place under the earth where the angels who sinned were sent to by God, mentioned in both 2 Peter 2:4 and described in Jude 6. I believe that the angels referred to are the ones who took wives from mankind, defiling themselves with them.

Sheol/Hades = This is the realm of the unrighteous dead located under the earth, which is where "the rich man" of Lazarus fame went to when he died, being in flame and torment. Sheol/Hades is a temporary place of punishment for the wicked until the great white throne judgment takes place. At the end of the thousand year kingdom, the unrighteous dead will be resurrected, their spirits being released from Sheol/Hades and united with their resurrected bodies, and will stand before God at the great white throne to be judged for all of their sins.

Gehenna = This is the final place of eternal punishment, the location of which is not mentioned but will most likely not be on the earth since this current heaven and earth will pass away. The other names for it are the lake of fire, everlasting fire and the second death, which is also the place that Jesus said was created for Satan and his angels.
Oh, very intrigued .
If I understand your list there, Tartartus would be where the 1/3rd of the angels that joined with Lucifer in the rebellion were sent?
And Hades is where the damned await the call to be judged?

Gehenna. Let me ask please for clarification on that. Is that the same as Hell? That is mentioned in the Revelation verse?
If it is going to be on the earth once heaven and earth pass away, isn't there something in scripture about Jesus ruling the earth with those who are the righteous in him after his second coming? I could be wrong on timelines. However, if that is to occur, where or when would Gehenna fit into that timeline?
Thank you for your help in my understanding of these things. :) Blessings.

Christian don’t go to Hell. The question is posed as though there is irrefutable proof that this happens. It goes against God’s Word.

Matthew 13: KING JAMES VERSION
31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Where does this illistrate about false individuals and satan nesting in the tree? The tree represents the Kingdom of God. Jesus didnt teach anything about the birds representing satan? Who taught you that? Or where did you read that? Got questions? Sounds false to me. But if you can share scripture to back that up?
First of all, no one has taught me anything, as all of my teachings are from my own studies. Why would you conclude that "Got Questions.com" as being false, when you've expressed that you don't even know who they are?

But to answer your question, "The birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof" is figurative for Satan and false believers lodging in its branches, i.e. attaching themselves to the church to take advantage of it.

Here is another parable where Satan and the powers of darkness are used figuratively as "Birds" to steal what is sown in the hearts of hearers:

"And He told them many things in parables, saying, “A farmer went out to sow his seed. And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it."

"When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sownd along the path."

Below is the full posting from Got Questions.com to give you a better understanding

Question: "What is the meaning of the Parable of the Mustard Seed?"

Answer:
Like with all parables, the purpose of the Parable of the Mustard Seed is to teach a concept or “big idea” using elements or details, like birds, weeds, and growth, that are common, easily recognized, and usually representational of something else. While the elements themselves do have importance, an overemphasis on the details or literal focus on an element usually leads to interpretive errors and missing the main point of the parable. One of the possible practical reasons that Jesus used parables is that parables teach a concept or idea by using word pictures. By depicting concepts, the message is not as readily lost to changes in word usage, technology, cultural context, or the passage of time as easily as it might be with a literal detailed narrative. Two thousand years later, we can still understand concepts like sameness, growth, the presence of evil influence, etc. This approach also promotes practicing principles rather than inflexible adherence to laws. Further emphasis on a singular point is given when multiple parables are given consecutively on the same subject, as is the case with the Parable of the Mustard Seed.

The Parable of the Mustard Seed is contained in all three of the synoptic gospels (Matthew 13:31–32; Mark 4:30–32; Luke 13:18–19). However, the Gospel of Matthew provides us with the most peripheral information, as it includes one parable before and after the mustard seed parable, each teaching on the same subject. Each of the three parables: the weeds among the wheat, the mustard seed, and the yeast have six common elements in them, providing structure which helps us to interpret the individual parables. The common elements are (1) a similitude about "the kingdom of heaven," the earthly sphere of profession both true and false; (2) “a man,” Christ; (3) “a field,” the world; (4) “seed,” the Word of God or its effect; (5) ”growth” or “spreading,” church growth; and (6) the presence of evil, symbolized by weeds, birds of the air, and yeast.

The Parable of the Mustard Seed was taught in rhetorical hyperbole. Here, Jesus uses a shrub/tree coming from a seed (John 12:24) to represent kingdom growth, consistent with other tree/kingdom references (Ezekiel 17:23 and Daniel 4:11-21). The seed’s growth attracts the presence of evil—depicted as birds (Matthew 13:4,19; Revelation 18:2)—to dilute the church while taking advantage of its benefits.

So, the picture painted in the Parable of the Mustard Seed by Jesus is of the humble beginnings of the church experiencing an explosive rate of growth. It grows large and becomes a source of food, rest, and shelter, for both believers and false professing individuals that seek to consume or take advantage of its benefits while residing or mixing among what was produced by the seed (1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:7; 2 Corinthians 11:13; Galatians 1:7). In other words, Jesus predicts that, while the church will grow extremely large from just a small start, it will not remain pure. While this is not a condemnation of the "bigness" of modern Christianity, it does show us the greatest burden that comes with it. The Parable of the Mustard Seed is both a prediction and a warning. May we listen to its message.

Oh, very intrigued .
If I understand your list there, Tartartus would be where the 1/3rd of the angels that joined with Lucifer in the rebellion were sent?
No, that is not what I said. Most of Satan's angels are out and about, deceiving and tempting. The angels that I was referring to and described, are those angels who took wives from the progeny of men, which both Peter and Jude refer to.

"For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them deep into hell (tartaroo) placing them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment" - 2 Pet.2:4

"And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. - Jude 6

And Hades is where the damned await the call to be judged?
Correct! All of the wicked who die go down into Sheol/Hades where they begin their punishment in torment in flame, just like the rich man of Lazarus fame. At the great white throne judgment, which is after the millennial kingdom, all those in Hades will be resurrected and will be judged before God for all of their sins.

Gehenna. Let me ask please for clarification on that. Is that the same as Hell that is mentioned in the Revelation verse?
As I said in post #82, there are three separate words erroneously translated as "Hell," Tartartoo, Sheol/Hades and Gehenna. For the sake of clarification and repetition, please go back and read post #82 which describes each of them.

The "Hell" in Revelation for the most part, speaks about Gehenna, aka the lake of fire and the second death. This is the final punishment for those who are resurrected at the end of the thousand years and whose names are not found written. These will stand before God and will be judged and cast into Gehenna/lake of fire. (See Rev.20:11-15)

If you will go back and read that post I said "that the location of the lake of fire is not revealed and therefore will most likely not be on this current earth because it is going to pass away at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ. Since the great white throne judgment doesn't take place until after the Lord's thousand year reign, then the wicked are not thrown into Gehenna/lake of fire until after the end of the thousand years and during the great white throne judgment.

Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing. That is a good post.

So these birds are representing Satan and his followers. Finding shelter because of the abundance of the tree. Thieves, taking advantage of the goodness of Gods tree. We all represent the branches in the tree. Those who remain in the vine belong to God and produce fruit. Then these birds come and try to steal.

Thats a new take on that parable. I appreciate that.

We know that true Christians will not go to hell, neither is there anyone, whether Christian or unsaved in hell at this time.

We know that unsaved people, that is people who want nothing to do with Jesus, will not make it into God's kingdom. We don't need to waste time on that one. But nether should we
have arguments on which professing Christian will make it to heaven and who won't. Because only God knows the answer to that.

That's why He said let the wheat and the tares continue together. And at the end He will separate them.

We can see who is sinning, but that does not mean they won't make it to heaven. At best we can say is that they are in error, but it's not for us to say they are going to hell. Because as you know, no one is perfect, we all sin - but some more than others.

I appreciate your post, because you actually explained your disagreement with me instead of merely posting a red X. For that you have my respect.
I wish I could say the same. All I get from him is red x’s with no explanation of disagreement. :cautious:

Yes the Will of the father is believing the son
There is a difference between doing God's will "in order to become saved": John 6:40 - For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

AND doing God's will "after we have been saved": 1 Thessalonians 5:14 - Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

But Jesus say a Lot of people call Him Lord but not go to heaven.

If one call Him Lord, mean he believe that Jesus or the Son is God

So that person doing the Will of God
There are many people who "profess" to be Christians and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, but do not truly believe IN THE SON. Such people may even believe that the death, burial and resurrection of Christ "happened" (believe in your head) BUT they are not believing in their heart by trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation. (Romans 1:16; 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

Yes that person say they do prophecy, but that person do not say they believe salvation by work.

That person think that because he prophecy mean he already save.

And Jesus not say, because you believe salvation by work so you not save, but you not do the Will of the father.
Yet the will of the Father is to believe in Him in order to have eternal life (John 6:40) yet Jesus NEVER knew them which means they were NEVER saved because they did not truly believe in Him and receive eternal life. These many people in Matthew 7:22 had the wrong foundation. They were trusting in their works to save them and NOT IN CHRIST ALONE. Their hearts were not right with God, so their "attempted external obedience" (apart from the righteousness of God which is by faith and the blood of Christ) was stained with sin. *Seeking salvation by works is not the will of the Father.*

John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. The term "know" implies intimate, experiential knowledge, through a relationship with Him, not merely theoretical knowledge. These many people were not true converts. *Without faith it's impossible to please God no matter how many "alleged" wonderful works that these many people set out to conjure up through the flesh. God does not see the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus (Romans 4:5-6; Philippians 3:9) in unbelievers, but He see's all of their sins which remain and have not been washed away by the blood of Christ.

The verse that you quote is the Will of the father, to believe the Son

And what is that mean?

That mean believe not only the fact that Jesus is God, but believe all His information or teaching
It's not enough to believe that Jesus is God (Roman Catholicism teaches that Jesus is God, yet their gospel is works based) and believe that all His information or teaching is true. We must believe in/have faith in/trust in/reliance in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. (Acts 10:43; 13:39; 16:31; Romans 1:16; 3:24-28; 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9; Philippians 3:9 etc..).

And what is His teaching

His teaching is to love God and love your neighbors
Are you trusting in your best efforts to love God and love your neighbors in order to obtain salvation?

So If a man only believe that Jesus is God but not love Jesus, he not save

And If a man say love Jesus and not love fellow man he is Lie.
Loving Jesus and our fellow man is the effect of being a child of God and not the cause of becoming a child of God. We love Him because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19) The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:5)

1 John 4:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

King James Version (KJV)
John draws a contrast between children of God and children of the devil. 1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. *John 17:3 - And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

And to love other man is a Lot of work
Do you believe that we we saved through faith in Christ or by performing a lot of work? (see Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9)

For Example If the poor do not have food, because of love you may need to cook for him, and It is a work
It certainly is a work to feed and clothe the poor (James 2:15-17) yet we are saved FOR good works and NOT BY good works. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Agreed. You are correct. But for the sake of the thread, I think it is a good point to bring up.

If we discuss the problem as a whole. We can address it and find meaningful and useful ways to fix this problem. By taking personal inventory and reflecting on what I can do, or what is my role in the body, how can I encourage someone who is struggling?

No one wants to see a fellow brother or sister fall away. Regardless if they come back to Christ in the future, we dont want them to struggle and suffer. I myself have fallen away a few years ago, and I suffered greatly. Like a prodigal son I have returned. And Im greatful to God. But there are others still lost and blinded by the schemes of the devil.

The question is how can we help? How can we do MORE.

Do not you know that Satan can go back and forth between Heaven and Earth. Why? Because He need permission of God to tempt you or me or any other Christians on earth, therefore he needs to present himself in front of God who is in Heaven. I agree that Satan do no belong to heaven just as human beings will not belong to hell endlessly since we know that there will be a day of Judgement when hell itself will be cast into the lake of fire.
Satan's name should NOT be capitalized. And you're mistaken, he cannot enter heaven, he got cast out of there long ago. God allows him to torment us sometimes, for reasons that only God knows.

I am reading M. Scott Peck, M.D.’s book about the hope for healing human evil. He laments that the science of psychology has only accepted evil, never studied it.

In this book he points out that evil people are drawn to the church because they only lie to themselves and the world. In the church they can cover up their basic desire to harm. Scott points to pride as a major source of evil, humbleness and honesty is needed to combat it.
I agree that pride is one of the major sources of evil that makes people spiritually blind completely. We can see all these 'pride movements' in the world. Examples: I am proud because I am gay or because I am african or being a citizen of USA or because I speak French or because I am jewish or greek ... and so on... These are all come from the Satan. The only thing a person should be proud of is to be in the family of Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Scripture does not indicate that people are in hell at this time. Luke 16 speaks of the two compartments in the grave. Paradise was moved to heaven around the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus.

Ephesians 4:8 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
8 That is why the Scriptures say,

“He went up high into the sky;
he took prisoners with him,
and he gave gifts to people.”

Luke 23:43 Then Jesus said to him, “I promise you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

2 Corinthians 12:3-4 And I know that this man was taken up to paradise. I don’t know if he was in his body or away from his body, but he heard things that he is not able to explain. He heard things that no one is allowed to tell.

Revelation 2:7 “Everyone who hears this should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. To those who win the victory I will give the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life, which is in God’s paradise.
If you read the scripture you would know that the lasts days start when Jesus came 2000 years ago. since the death and the resurrection of Christ people have been resurrected because Jesus was THE FIRST who resurrected from death.

Satan's name should NOT be capitalized. And you're mistaken, he cannot enter heaven, he got cast out of there long ago. God allows him to torment us sometimes, for reasons that only God knows.
Sorry but you are mistaken. He can go back to ask permission of God. Do not think God will come down from heaven to Satan to let him know what he can do or not. And it is better for you to prepare because Satan will come to you too to tempt you!!!
