We all are going through trials at certain points of our life when Satan makes requests of God to swift us and sadly many fall and do not stand up. Is it because they are lukewarm Christians or lacking of faith?
If on the other hand is why can life as a Christian be more difficult for some than others? I think that the answer might be it depends upon the roles we may be chosen for. I think life is like a boot camp and an office clerk in the Coast Guards experience will be totally different than that of a person to become a Seal or Green Beret. It's only my opinion but it's as valid as anyone else's.

I disagree with you. Since the Lord shows a few of us in vision (check hell and heaven testimonies on youtube) that there are many in Hell already burning and tortured. Who will be resurrected to be judged? Those who will live in the 1000 year of reign of Christ.
"it's God's judgement to make" - of course only the Lord can judge but it is also up to Him if He want to reveal anything to us that takes place right now.
Good day GyO,

It is important here to understand that unfortunately, there are three Greek words all translated as "Hell" but are individual places, as listed below:

Tartaroo/Tartartus = This word is only found once in scripture. It is the place under the earth where the angels who sinned were sent to by God, mentioned in both 2 Peter 2:4 and described in Jude 6. I believe that the angels referred to are the ones who took wives from mankind, defiling themselves with them.

Sheol/Hades = This is the realm of the unrighteous dead located under the earth, which is where "the rich man" of Lazarus fame went to when he died, being in flame and torment. Sheol/Hades is a temporary place of punishment for the wicked until the great white throne judgment takes place. At the end of the thousand year kingdom, the unrighteous dead will be resurrected, their spirits being released from Sheol/Hades and united with their resurrected bodies, and will stand before God at the great white throne to be judged for all of their sins.

Gehenna = This is the final place of eternal punishment, the location of which is not mentioned but will most likely not be on the earth since this current heaven and earth will pass away. The other names for it are the lake of fire, everlasting fire and the second death, which is also the place that Jesus said was created for Satan and his angels.

All that said, the place where the wicked are currently in torment in flame is Sheol/Hades. For no one has yet been put into the lake of fire, with Its first recipients being the beast and the false prophet (Rev.19:20)

Church "members" who have not accepted the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on their behalf are in exactly the same position as atheists, murderers, and deviants: unsaved and in need of the gospel. Church "membership" never got anyone out of hell (despite what the Catholics teach).

Those who are lukewarm need to be nudged (or jolted) into realizing that they are either squandering the most precious gift conceivable, or are not actually saved in the first place. They would do well to examine themselves and proceed accordingly.
When I say church members i meant people that attend your church. Regulars if you will. So im assuming they believe in Jesus or about Jesus assuming thats why they attend?

Ok. So lets take your approach. Are they in fact "saved"? They believe and are attending your church based on that belief right? Why doesnt that belief atone for their sins? I dont understand?

You say if they have not accepted the attoning sacrifice of sin through Jesus Christ.. Can you explain how they accept that or why they wouldnt have accepted that?

Hello TLC209,

I believe that Dino is speaking about what I call "Potluck Christians" which are those who believe that by attending church they are saved, but have no real commitment to Christ. They're doing their duty (works).

These are the ones I refer to as the "Sunday crowd". The ones who show up Sundays and thats about all they have concerning God in their life.

So theres many who believe they are Christians by this definition of potluck and Sunday goer. Do you agree?

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Yes, I agree. That's what I said in my previous post. They are just doing their duty by attending, but have no real commitment to Christ.

So it seems that there are some among us who believe that some how there will be members of the body of Christ in hell. That presents a serious problem with the understanding of Christology, and the place of the Christian I'm Christ.

I think thats who GyO is referring to in his OP. Christians in hell. It is those potluck Christians who will be spit out.

Thats the crazy part. Because I doubt alot of them realize they are not truly "saved". Its just a counterfeit faith that they have.

A "counterfeit" faith, where is that in scripture?

2 Timothy 3
7 (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) 8 These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.

I wonder what happens when God tells these people different things, how do they check who is right? One who has the more fancy message, more polished?
iirc it's a combination of number of views / subscribers / likes

No Christian will end up in hell.

Christians go to heaven; non-Christians go to hell.

What some might call real Christians are simply Christians. What some might call luke-warm Christians are non-Christians. My point is simply that the person who believes in Christ is a Christian. The one who does not believe is not a Christian. Don't use the term Christian for a non-believer and then call a believer a "real" Christian.

Of course I am not saying that you or I can look at a person and tell whether or not they are a Christian.
;)

let your 'yes' be yes and your 'no' be no;
anything beyond this comes from the evil one

(Matthew 5:37)

if a person is continually getting mislead by one bad teacher after another, is what we see in that a 'counterfeit faith' or is it a 'counterfeit understanding' ?

IMO it's here:

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

((not to say it's not elsewhere, too - e.g. Matthew 7:22?))

Anyway Jesus say to These people that call Him Lord not go to heaven because they do not doing the Will of the father, verse 21

Jesus not say because your believe is intelectual believe

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

this shows doing His will is not the same as doing wonderful works. that does not mean that it is not His will that we do good things - but it means the will of the Father is not judged or measured by works, even miracles or prophesy or power. it means a person can do many good things, a person can even speak prophesy and work miracles but not be doing the Father's will.

if a person is not doing God's will it is someone else's will.
if a person works miracles by someone's will that is not God, whose will is it that can even give power for miracles, and look like it is God's will but it is really not?
so we must test prophets and visionaries and even miracle workers - not just believe them on account of their signs or power.

test by what?

Thankfully there is still time as no one is yet in Hell. Hell is the final place for after the judgment.
