In Scripture God is said to be both truth and love.

I John 4:8 - God is love
John 14:6 - Jesus - "I am the way, the truth, and the life"

If a person says they have love but do not have truth then their love is not real love.
So if a person is kind and "loving" to a homosexual person, but does not at the appropriate time and way confront them with biblical truth, they are not really loving the person at all.

If a person says they have truth but do not have love then their truth is not real truth.
If a preacher pounds the pulpit and yells Bible verses at the homosexual person, but does not love them, then the words he said are only facts, but are not truth.

Truth encapsulates Love not the other way around.
Truth is always the foundation of Love
Truth is what sets us Free
Jesus states......I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
The holy Spirit lead into all truth
Truth is far more predominant in scripture
“Faith hope and love the greatest of these is love (1 Cor.13:13).
Yet in verse 6 it states “Love..........rejoices in the truth.”

Truth and love go hand in hand. He is truth and He is love. I am not sure how they can be separated. He is a God of mercy, of truth, of justice of love. He is so worthy to be praised.

I will stand on the truth if the bible that any and all unity is based upon truth.....Paul did not sit down with and sing KUM BA YAH with false teachers and or those that perverted the gospel.....

The bible is clear...The word of GOD DIVIDES and JESUS came to bring a SWORD and TWO cannot nor will not EVER be able to walk together unless agreed..........

NO where are we commanded to side step the truth, disregard the truth, deny the truth, sell the truth short, etc. for the sake of unity and or under the banner of truth........

He set at variance MOTHER against daughters, Fathers against SONS and YOUR enemy will be they of your OWN HOUSE...if it is that serious for FAMILY....HOW serious is it for those that are not family and those that CORRUPT the gospel message??

Question Mr. Chester....

Did Jesus have love when He flipped the tables and called the scribes and Pharisees hypocrites and white washed tombs.

I can absolutely make a truthful statement without love.

However, love can not be expressed with lies, that makes no sense.

Agree and we can see the results presently in the modern day church. A sad state of affairs.

I won't question your passion, but could I ask you what your credentials are without offending you? Credentials that put you in the seat of one of the gifted teachers?

The scribes and pharisees who were called hypocrites and white washed tombs ... were they believers? I think not.

Jesus' anger was not without cause. One thing God does not put up with is when wolves in sheep's clothing come in and lead others astray. Causing others to stumble is something we are warned about in Scripture.

However, I believe the OP speaks of how believers treat fellow believers. From the OP:

"I came looking for fellowship among the household of faith, nothing else!"
"We are to love, encourage, pray, carry one another's burdens, and share the word, for it is the breaking of bread!
WE ARE TO BE UNITED IN THE FAITH,LOOKING TO THE FINISHER OF OUR FAITH!"

And, yes, sometimes we come across believers who have been lead astray and repeat the error they have been taught. How do we treat fellow believers who have been wrongly taught? I love the example in Acts 18 where Aquila and Priscilla took Apollos aside privately and taught him the word of God more perfectly. Of course it appears Apollos was much more humble than some of the folks we come across here and with whom we try to expound the word of God more perfectly. But I think when we allow our anger to direct our words, we must be careful that our anger does not draw us away from our fellowship with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Credentials as in a character reference? Or pieces of paper? I've heard some aberrant teachings from people with what the world defines as "credentialed"...Interestingly, only Paul was "credentialed" in the modern sense of the word.

For me personally, character references are all that matter. I am consistently impressed with his online character :)

I've wrestled with this personally. Agreement among believers is quite important. Dissent, strife, factions? Nah.

but at the same time, I've heard the cliche phrase (although it does seem valid) major on the majors, minor on the minors.

I think enough agreement and disagreement is seen in the NT to cause the above statement to be true. Not what Paul wrote about false teachers or anything but how he interacted with the other disciples/believers.

It is an important distinction because I don't see "too" much disagreement here on the forums just that not everyone is a good "wordsmith".

Ofc, even in a short time I've seen some jarring things but they are usually dealt with swiftly.

Time will tell, I'm still maturing...but even with a lot of pastors I've heard I disagree with some things...not the doctrine itself necessarily but the hierarchy of importance.

I think we can all agree on the cornerstone and that to build anything on a different cornerstone is grave error. It very well may be just figuring out where our "building block" fits.

I certainly believe in chastisement and correction. If a believer isn't receiving that somewhere...then idk. I get corrected a lot.

There are definitely attacks all over the place and I appreciate your steadfastness. Has been helpful to me :)

This is what we call the "echo chamber" effect.

Once you get a regular group of X number of people who constantly like your post and affirm what you are saying, it can be difficult not to think what you are saying must therefore be the truth.

Have you been reading the threads?

We are NOT united in faith.

Nothing close to it!

We may all claim to believe in a person named Jesus. But for some, thats about as unified as we are.

I disagree on the whole we are very United both in faith that saves and our call to follow. How we follow is often areas of emphasis, but love of Jesus, amen.

Some desire division where there is none and distract to irrelevant subjects while missing our calling to encouragement. So praise the Lord we know Jesus and follow in truth and love, amen
