I'm not sure this topic needs to be in the Bible study room.
The " Christian news forum" or another one like that.

This thread is full of a lot of useful information, just throwing that out there.

I have a difficult time with abortion politically. The problem is there are many issues to focus on if you are a lawmaker, and this one is split.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether political/personal opinions are seperate or should be? Deep topic so disregard if your "derail-o-meter" goes off ;)

I do not think anyone is saying it is not useful. Just does not meet the Bible Study forum type of topics.

Didn't know there was a criteria for topics that the bible forum DOES cover. After all, the bible covers abortion, so why shouldn't we?

then where is the biblical context with the person in the thread? I did not see any verses or application. Again no one is saying one should not Cover abortions, just in the Bible Study forum Ms. Alyssa Milano sexual actions or opinion on abortions are not recorded in the bible, in fact the word abortion is not even in the bible :)

I respectfully disagree with your last sentence. The bible does indeed mention abortion, though not with that specific word. The bible mentions murder, which is basically what an abortion is. Just because the fetus isn't born, does not mean that it isn't alive. It's a sin to kill another human, be it a child, unborn fetus or adult. ABORTION IS MURDER.

Ok please show me where in the word of God "Abortion" . The context of the word and it's origin is Latin mid-1600's associated more with miscarriage, not murder. That is why the medical community and feminist embrace the word. feminist have changed the meaning of the word just like they did the word gay and other terms. words and science.

God did not use the word abortion HE called Murder the shedding of innocent blood.

An abortion is far from being a miscarriage. When a doctor uses a scalpel or other sharp instrument to end the life of a live fetus, that is MURDER. It's not a miscarriage, which is usually associated with a trauma, or birth defect or something like that.

You're right, God didn't use the word "abortion". He called it murder, which IS what an abortion is. Sad, but true. An abortion IS the shedding of innocent blood. And if you think abortions are not bloody, you are sorely mistaken.

aBortion was seen as a normative as being a miscarriage until the feminist perverted the meaning of the word in its original meaning as homosexuals did with the word "Gay". Of course, what they do in calling today abortion is hardly a miscarriage, however, my wife miscarried our second child at 8 months that was no easy thing for a woman to bring forth a dead child.

My sister had a close friend who had a series of abortions, when she was in her 20's. My sister was not a Christian, but she told me after each abortion, the woman got harder and harder, caring less for people and life. She became very self-centred, and bragged about her abortions. My sister decided abortion was wrong, on that basis. I have also met women who radically changed from kind and loving people into dark, selfish people.

So, abortion kills an unborn child, and it also damages the women who had the abortion. The Catholic Church has an organization called "Rachel's Vineyard" and they do counselling of these women. The ones that don't get hardened hearts, often go crazy because they feel so much guilt for killing their own unborn child. I had a friend in Edmonton who was forced into an abortion, because she had vaccines for travel to South America, before she knew she was pregnant. She had many hard years, filled with guilt, until God saved her. She also had a severe breakdown and became psychotic after her second child was born. She was so grieved over the child that she was forced to abort.

I lost a baby in my last pregnancy. She was a twin of my daughter, who was fine when she was born. Even though I had a live child, I have always mourned the loss of the twin.

@CS1 I am so sorry your wife had to go through that. The word has indeed changed, except for doctors who use the words the medical way. But, she should never feel guilty because she lost the baby. I guess this is an area, we have to give to God.

I had a workmate who told me she had an abortion when she was in her 20s, kind of like alyssa milano scenario although she wasnt an actress. She did say to me she had 'no regrets' her partner at the time said to her 'have it out'

Then later on as I got to know her better one day she told me she was going out with another guy, and ended up in hospitsl as she was hemoraghing. It turned out she had a miscarriage, she was on her 40s and she was crying because she could never have children again. The guy didnt even know.

She has moved down south so we lost touch, but she did turn to drink and also had anorexia/bulimia. She was going to AA but one day I was hanging out with her, and it all came out. I''m much younger than her and didnt really know how to handle it. I gave her a hug. I think God is somehow looking a
Out for her as one time we walked into a church and just sat and she started to talk to God about all the bad stuff she had done. Not that she was proud of it but that she did need Him. I do pray that shes found some peace and forgiveness.

People might say they have 'no regrets' at the time but later on they do. I saw with my own eyes. When someone cries in front of you you dont dismiss that.

I dont know how alyssa milanos children feel to know that their mother killed their older siblings. It would be like finding out some family secret or other siblings you had no clue about. And how would they feel if shes said to them be grateful for your lives I could have killed you had you not been born in a convenient time for me. That is just weird and I dont know what I would do with that knowledge. I think I would lose faith in my mother...if it was my mother. Many children already dont have faith in their dads cos they dont even know their dads.

Possibly with actress types that are famous, they arent even mothers, they just hire nannies to do all the things mothers are meant to do.

The Bible talks about two women who came to king solomon both claiming to be mother of one baby. Interesting what King Solomon advised.

I watched a couple of minutes of a discussion between American Senator Ted Cruz and Alyssa Milano over gun rights. She was expressing concern about how gun violence endangers children. I wish Cruz had called her out on the utter hypocrisy of that position.
