I am a Bible thumper and believe only Salvation thru Messiah/ Jesus (alone) is the way to heaven. Yet my Aunt (who claims to be saved) believes even people who "believe in god, even if the wrong god, like Muslims,(for example or put any religion in or lack of) will still go to heaven because of their faith.

Is my Aunt right? Am I right? Is there a middle ground or is my Aunt A. just not really saved?
Your aunt is correct and is saved eternally. If you believe that there is a spiritual God (the one and only God) then you are secure in eternal life. Paul while on one of his journeys passed through this town that had many signs depicting many gods and one of the signs read "to the unknown God" and Paul said this was the God that he served. Some eternally saved people worship a higher spiritual power and do not know what name it has. The natural man cannot discern spiritual things as a higher power, even though some on this forum believe that he can.

She's sadly mistaken. Would your aunt happen to be Catholic? Pope Francis some time ago made a speech that implied what your aunt holds as true. He even went so far as to say atheists would enter Heaven. He's mistaken of course but how sad he misleads over a billion people as their earthly shepherd.

This may help your aunt if you would care to email the article to her after your review.
I hope she finds Christ if it be God's will.
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).
Jesus is the Only Way

Jesus is the Only Way – Do Christians Really Mean That?
Is Jesus the only way to God?
Yes Jesus is the only way and that is by being one of those that God gave to his Son to die for and they will all live in heaven with him without the lose of even one. (John 6:38)

Jesus is our Only rescuer and redeemer...

It can be hard to think of our loves not being saved, hoping we can all be found blameless through the blood of Christ, without actually believing or calling on Him, but it just isn't so. I think how common and trivial His death and ressurection would be if He was only one of the ways to the Father. He is the One and Only way, truth and life.

1 Cor 1:30....

And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption
Believing and calling on him is a product of being already born again, not the cause of being born again. Eph 2 explains it.

Not sure what i said that contradicts what you are saying. Being born again is a result of repentance, realizing we need a savior and accepting Jesus as the One who saves.

Wrong

You can not be born again until after you call.

He is saying we are regenerated (born again) before we are justified, (forgiven of sin)

The Book of John chapter 6 verses 37 to 39
Jesus the Bread of Life
…37Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away. 38For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. 39And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day

Really this is what I tell my Grandma, if someone says they are saved I have to believe them because I can not judge that.... I get to judge their fruit to see if they are a christian I want to hang out with, or "Jeff to the left" .... good character is corrupted by bad company...

But do you really think christians can be deceived like that or never really saved to begin with? Can someone reject Christ as only Lord and Savior if Saved?
Jesus made it quite plain that we need to know Who He is or we would die in our sins. He is the author and giver of life. He is the way, the Truth, the vine, the door, the narrow gate, the bread of life, the light and life of men, the true shepherd. He said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Oprah Winfrey used to claim she was a Christian also and then turn around and contradict what Jesus said of Himself. I wonder how many people she has led astray. Going to heaven is not the end goal, either. The life to come is lived on a new earth. Nominal Christians do not know Jesus.

Hi again Jacob, setting my theoretical statement (in bold above) aside for a minute, if your Aunt claims to be a Christian, but she believes that others can be saved by believing in "their" god instead of Jesus, chances are very good that she is not saved, because if she truly understood the way of salvation through Christ alone (and 'why' He is the only way), then she would not say that there are other ways to "go to heaven".

So, you might want to ask her some questions about the Christian faith and about salvation to see where she's at, to see if she is truly saved or not. True Christians can become confused (or deceived) sometimes, but chances are very good that she does not know Jesus.

p.s. - she's not Roman Catholic, is she?
I 100% agree with you. I personally believe thes(she) are the people Messiah speaks about when He says, The will say I called you Lord, and I will say I never knew you. I do not believe they (she) were exer "rally" saved.

Forgive me, if I am wrong, but , to me, you are making a statement that is right the opposite of mine. I am saying that repentance, realizing we need a Savior and accepting Jesus as one who saves is a result of being born again.

I'm sorry, if I am not understanding what you are saying. Are you saying that God gave his Son all mankind?

If you are trying to quote me, kindly, quote me right. I did not say we are born again before Jesus justified us. Jesus made us just by his death on the cross. We are born into this world totally sinful and are born again sometime after our natural birth.

Your aunt is correct somehow.

Salvation is not what we do or what we think or what we know.

And i always ask; How does a two year old get saved?

Wrong

The natural man will not call on a spiritual God about spiritual things that he cannot discern 1 Cor 2:14. Instead of just saying "Wrong" you should present scriptures that backs your reply up.

The same way anybody gets saved eternally, it is explained in Eph 2.

Does a child have to have faith in Christ and believe that Christ died for their sins? The kind of salvation you teach?

Did those who were spiritually dead in sins know Jesus in Eph 2?

Maybe come at it from a different perspective. If Jesus is your Lord and Saviour, why would you need another God when He has done it all.

Jesus is the only way that anyone gets to heaven and by his righteousness he sanctified, justified and redeemed us by his death on the cross for all of those that God gave him, which was not all mankind, but only those that God gave him. By his finished work on the cross, all of those that he died for are secured of having a home in heaven.
