If your loving people, you do jot have to think about t, because you wont break it, thats the point.

When god says he writes his laws in our heart, he is not talking about the ten commands, he is talking about his wasy

H explained his ways, it starts with love because god is love
Well it says law and it the same in the hebrew.

Aslo Jesus quotes the 2 most important laws and says all laws hang on these:

Matthew 22:37-40, " 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

I think the spirit tells our heart when we go astray and the wrotten word is a way to meditate on it and have it in black and white to "test the spirits"

Nope, but they sure can do good things

I know i have seen them

As scripture also says, gentiles who do not have the law can do them

Works prove nothing

Yes a true child will work, but if work is all we look at, you may mistake a true child from a false child

There is something else that happens.
They will have wrong motives and I never said works are all we look at. The Bible lists 3 things that identify a believer, works are just one component. It`s words, fruits and works. I believe the three because the Bible says it of all three.

I can spot a legalist from a mile away...

Acts 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
Acts 8:23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

I feel the same way, and honeslty I feel like we do agree on a lot, and the main thing that is most important IMO is that Jesus is the way and we should follow Him, so that is really great!
Amen, he gave us the example we should all follow, as well as many other men whom-also give the same example

They why oppose what I say about the Law?
Because you appear like a few others here, to say we learn obdince by the law (if this is not true forgive me)

Thats not true

We learn our guilt and the way to redemption through the law, the schoolmaster

We learn obedience through christ.

I think God's laws always existed, if not what satan did in the garden would be ok. Also Moses led them OUT of egypt, they had forgotten the right way. How did Abraham follow God's laws if they did not exist until Moses?

Genesis 26:5, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
Yes, but no on can be judged when their is no law, thats wht paul meant when he said the law came and thus death

If there is not a law which says speed limit is 55, people can do 100, no one can do anything about it, no law.

While i do agree many ppl have done wnderful things, some that even inspire us to walk more like Jesus, I beleive Jesus is the only example, leader, Shepherd.

When sheep follow a shepherd they have to stay focused or they will get off path, if there are multiple shepherds leading in different directions the sheep get misled.

Jesus, Peter and John all say to follow Jesus as the example:

John 13:15, “For I (Jesus) gave you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.”

1 Peter 2:21, “This is, in fact, what you were called to do, because Christ also suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in His steps.”

1 John 1:26, “The one who says that he abides in him must live the same way he (Jesus) himself lived.”

John 10:16, ""And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd."

True, but only god can see fruit.

Many false teachers have appeared to produce alot of fruit by leading people to god

Yet they produce nothing

True

But many men and women in our lives are great mentors, because they exhibit the love of christ in their hearts,

I agree, of course adultery is sin. But some ppl see no issue.

Also yes, I believe the law is of God given through Moses, and that the law was before Moses but the Hebrews were slaves in Egypt and lost their way, because like I said Abraham had the law way before Moses. God;s law, not Moses law.

No

The condemnation of not meeting the standard of the law is death.

Cursed is the one who does not obey every word

If we keep the whole law yet stumble in one point we are guilty of the whole law.

PPl that are following Jesus are a definite blessing to others, for sure, shining His light!

I look at it like sheep dogs! WHen a sheep goes astray they point that lost sheep to Jesus! and say: Follow HIM!!!! :)

Like John and Peter said!

No

The condemnation of not meeting the standard of the law is death.
That does not make the law bad, that makes sin bad, sin = death

James 1:12-18, " 12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

John 8:34-36, " 34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Cursed is the one who does not obey every word
You seem fixated on death and curses, Im fixate on life and blessings;

Deuteronomy 28:1-2, " 1 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.

If we keep the whole law yet stumble in one point we are guilty of the whole law.
But thats only one selected verse look at tall the verses around it! James is not saying "If we keep the whole law yet stumble in one point we are guilty of the whole law" therefore reject or shun or whatever the law, he is saying to obey it! Literally the next thing he says ;)

James 2:8-13, " 8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. 9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. 11 For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Hey DeighAnn,

What you have to recognize is that those who have not the Spirit of God cannot understand or even conceptualize the idea that anyone would want to, desire to, even enjoy keeping Gods laws even if they didn't get any reward whatsoever for it! Everything they do is carefully, strategically formulated to deal benifit to them. Whereas we love God and Neighbor and do these things out of love.

There is a gap, a chasm, a spiritual barrier. You cannot teach spirituality to a carnal man.

SG :)
Hello SG,
It is just the basic common sense of it all that seems to elude them. We are all sinners, there must be law. Repent, there must be law. Be righteous, there must be law. Do not kill, there must be law. Obey, there must be law. Against some things there is no law, so there must be law. Knowing good from evil, there must be law.
But because they can not get rid of the law out right, the next step is to make following the law itself bad. Follow the law you are trying to be justified. Following the law you are working towards salvation, Following the law means you have not been saved. Following the law means you are not lead by the spirit. Following the law means you have to follow them all.
It all goes on and on and is nothing but sad.

Follow the law you must follow them all. What is the opposite of that? Follow no law. It is like they disannul the life and death of Jesus completely. There is never a bit about repentance and remission of sin yet when Jesus came out of the wilderness

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, REPENT for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Without the law, what is repentance for?

Forgive us our trespasses? Without law how do you trespass?

It is so basic, I can't believe there is an argument.

God is the lawgiver is He not? If you abrogate the law are you not doing the same to God?

Why is obediance to the law so scarry? Why do some believe it can't be done?

I know it all comes back to that doctrine of death OSAS somehow but I don't know how. If you do please let me know. The only thing I can think of is they are "already" perfect and so can't sin so the law can't be valid anymore. I feel funny writing it because it makes no sense to me. I know Satan hated Gods law. Maybe my answer could be found in that. I don't know.

I know this wasn't written to me but I want to build upon it with the word, as I have heard some of these things from people in the world, telling me to follow some indistinct teaching, why would I when I can follow Jesus?

We are all sinners, there must be law.
1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."

Repent, there must be law.
Acts 3:19-20, " 19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

Be righteous, there must be law.
Deuteronomy 6:24-25, " 24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day. 25 And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.’

1 John 3:7, "Little children, let no man deceive you; he who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous."

Do not kill, there must be law.
Revelation 22:14-16, " 14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.

Obey, there must be law.
John 14:21, “he who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Knowing good from evil, there must be law.
John 5:28-30, " 28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. 30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Isaiah 8:20-21, " 20 To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn. 21 They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against their king and their God, and turn their faces upward."

Follow the law you must follow them all. What is the opposite of that? Follow no law. It is like they disannul the life and death of Jesus completely. There is never a bit about repentance and remission of sin yet when Jesus came out of the wilderness

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, REPENT for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

satan definitely hates Gods law.

Isaiah 5:20, " 20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! "

I think we need hold fast to Jesus, abide in Him according to what He says!

John 15:1-10, " 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
