With all these different names hell, Hades, sheol, Gehenna, abyss, lake of fire... I am not sure how to sort it all out...
Sheol is same as Hades
Gehenna same as lake of fire

Here's what I know about hell VCO.
Not many people actually read what I post so I'm going to brief and to the point.
Psa_63:9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
The wicked go to the heart of the earth.
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
The rich man in hell could see Abraham was holding Lazarus near his chest. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 🡿

Conclusion:
- Hell is still in operation, wicked people are going there today.
- Lazarus was leaning on Abraham's chest and that's why "scholars" Abraham's bosom is a place. Abraham's bosom as a place does not exist.
- Abraham and Lazarus was in eye shot and ear shot of the rich man in hell. Abraham and Lazarus were in hell but not in torment or punishment. A chasm separated the two groups.
- Jesus went to hell and ministered to the souls that sinned before the flood.
- Those who accepted the gospel were release from hell.
- Hell is tossed in the lake a fire after all of the wicked have died at the end of time.
See, it supports my reasoning THE LORD DOES NOT CHANGE. BELIEVER's human spirit always GOES TO HEAVEN, O.T. and N.T.; while the Unrighteous human spirit always goes to Hades. Physical DEATH Body goes to the grave. IF HE DESCENDED SPIRITUALLY IT WAS ONLY TO PROCLAIM THE VICTORY OVER THE DEMONS IN THE PIT, THAT TRIED TO POLLUTE THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE SO THAT MESSIAH COULD NOT COME FROM THE HUMAN RACE.
Now HOW can a person in Hades, see all the way to HEAVEN? You are forgetting it is not with these PHYSICAL EYES. Who knows how far you can see with spiritual EYES? Apparently as Far as GOD Wants you to SEE and HEAR What HE wants you to HEAR. He said he saw seeth Abraham afar off and HE went on to say there is a GREAT GULF FIXED between Abraham and the Rich Man in HADES.

26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'

Jesus went to hell/hades and PREACHED to the SPIRITS in hell. These were those who died during the time of Noah. I would assume that they were with Abraham and Lazarus since they weren't condemned for this sins until Christ came and preached the gospel to them and they made their decisions.
I agree there was a great gulf between them.

When you do something, and your flesh, your conscious, other people, or satan himself tells you there is no way you can be saved, because saved people are not that stupid to make that mistake

When your life is in such a dire straights, through tribulation suffering, Loss, despair hopelessness seems to be all around you, and those same voices speak and tell you God woul dnot allow that to happen to his children.

Paul. Who can claim to suffer more, From power and wealth to nothing, having to work to earn his meal, Sever suffering which would cause most men to give up. yet through it all. God was faithful. His grace is enough God said, And paul, in his great faith, such as the two men above, Considered these things as light afflictions compared to the glory he awaits.
When legalism wants to tear you down, Let God and his word strengthen you and build you up. God loves you in all cases. he proved that when he sent his son to die for you..Knowing what a knucklehead you would be!!
