amen.....I have from day one and for almost 6 years straight on this site pointed 100% to Christ, his work, his ministry, his sacrifice, his blood as the means of our eternal salvation based upon the faith he begins, finishes and completes in us....anyone that states otherwise is either blind, mistaken, misunderstands or is flat misrepresenting the truth of what I have said......
i always think about that verse. calvinists use it alot. author of our faith. how is Jesus the author of our faith? when we are told to believe.

dear friend. to say saved by faith alone is a slogan. it wasnt meant as all encompassing saying i believe.

like if i say "by faith alone in Christ alone" does that mean i say God the Father is not involved its just Christ? of course not. its just a slogan from reformation. by grace alone through faith alone by Christ alone. its funny when you say it actually cause its three thinsg and it says alone lolz.

i dont know if slogan is right word here, i dont mean as derogative like a tv advertisement. but like a thing you say thats catchy you know?
Does not matter what he thinks.....the bible is clear....faith alone is what saves a man regardless of the drivel. In the grace you are <---having been saved OUT OF FAITH.....if anything he peddles a salvation that needs man's help......end of story!

John 12:25-26, " 25 Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

John 8:51 “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My Word he shall never see death at all.”

John 14:23-26, " 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. 25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

And yet Jesus teaches us that he will not lose even one who has been given to Him by our Heavenly Father.

I understand that, but the Bible nowhere says saved by faith alone. It is an unbiblical slogan

When you conflate justification with salvation, it produces unbalanced theology

Justification and salvation are not precisely the same thing. Justify is part of salvation, declared righteous. Salvation is foreknown, predestined, called, regenerated, adopted, sanctified, preserved, and glorified

Read carefully. Salvation is based on works. The works that God did for us AND in us

Peace

I supplied it

We are not saved by faith alone. We are saved by grace. Nowhere in the Bible does it say saved by faith. It is saved by GRACE THROUGH Faith

Conflation of the thing wrought and the instrumental means

Yes I love that verse. Well either that verse is true or Jesus is a liar. If Jesus is a liar there is no salvation in Jesus.

Jesus is not a liar. a few support verses then I will expand;

1 John 2:6, "He who says he abides in Him, is himself also obligated to walk as He walked."

1 John 3:24, “And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us.”

Acts 3:22-23, " 22 Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’

I don't think Jesus expects 100% perfection in the flesh. He Himself preached forgiveness to others:

Luke 17:3-4, “Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day comes back to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

Key point: he says: ‘I repent,’ THEN = "you shall forgive him.”

I think the same with us.

Ezekiel 18:21-23, " 21 “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?"

I think it a life long process, where we will sin, that is why He did what He did:

Hebrews 10:12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God"

that is why John says:

1 John 1:8-10, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."

1 John 2:1-6, " 1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked."

Not perfect but repentant of sin and becoming more and more like HIm. WHere is the exact line, I dont know and it is not for me to decide, He is the judge.

John 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

Yes. Saved by grace through faith is not the same thing as saved by faith alone. If you are saved by faith alone, you initiated and began your own salvation and finish it too

So you exclude grace and say saved by faith alone

My faith did not regenerate me. Your faith did not regenerate you. Gods POWER and Grace did

It’s intersting that when you list aspects of salvation, you always exclude regeneration
