I notice that you completely missed the part in Exodus where the people were instructed NOT to collect manna on the Sabbath, because the provision from the previous day was enough and would last.

Sabbath was not primarily about equality, or about helping people, or sharing. It was about resting because God rested, and because humans need the rest, and because God said so. Yes, Jesus healed people on the Sabbath, but I sense in your post a tendency to make the appropriate activities of the Sabbath just another set of "must do's" that are completely antithetical to the original concept of Sabbath rest.
Thanks for pointing out that no manna fell on the Sabbath.

I think you are reading into what am I saying. Jesus said, It is lawful to do good. And as I irretirated before that you have different assumption about the Sabbath. It was not just primarily for rest. It was sign. If God had ought to rest and not sustain life on earth what will happen in that 24 hours. We can do good on the sabbath. Police officers, nurses, doctors and other essential service to relief human suffering can still work on sabbath.

It was not burdensome day or day of idleness good for yourself. It was not made for selfish pleasure. It ought to be blessing for us and other people, we come into contact with. It is definitely not about ourselves and that is the character we need to develop that nothing is about ourselves.

In heaven, there will be no selfish people, why not start to practice it here.

Simply put, your statements about the purpose of the sabbath are not rooted in Scripture.

Simply put, your statements about the purpose of the sabbath are not rooted in Scripture.
You clearly not understanding. There are other aspects to the Sabbath other than just resting.

And I have shared with you the scriptures. And the perfect example, would be Jesus Christ. If you want deeper understanding of Sabbath, go and read the what Jesus did on the Sabbath.

You are getting confused with the Sabbath of the Pharisees.

God made the Sabbath a delight. Humans give the assumption that it is worrysome day and restricted. It is a sercice of love.

Isaiah 58
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

I sincerely pray that God will open up your understanding.

It's pretty much common knowledge with anyone that takes their faith even half seriously that Jesus wasn't born around Dec 25. I'm surprised you still think everyone else believes that and you're one of the few enlightened.
But, really, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. I would have honestly never figured that out on my own. Those are not things I tend to focus on or do well at. That's why those who can share.

How are you not attempting to poke at people or start arguements when you label everyone else "brainwashed"?
Is not the humble person open to learning rather than talks down about how clueless everyone else is. Perhaps a knowledgable person will say that, but not a wise one.

I don't know the exact day Jesus was born. And guess what? It's not really important. If people choose to celebrate his birthday at the wrong time, so what? Does it really matter? Or change anything? Do you believe Jesus is offended? Does it affect your life? Your walk? Your faith?

People are so eager to run around boasting about what they know and how ignorant everyone else is on the most insignificant things. Ironic.
agree 100% with this

Good evening ,

You will know them by thier fruits , I’m not saying I’m perfect nor better then you or anyone .
I fall short like everyone else , but in my heart know the truth.... how most who claim to know Christ miss this? So leaves one to wonder do they know the father as they claim .

Sunday is not stated in the bible as the sabbath nor is Saturday by name that is , but it is said rest on the 7th day and from my knowledge which is from man I grant you that , as I was not around since the beginning to know it as true fact , but Saturday is the 7th day , and to top that the Catholic Church decided to change it to Sunday , which they didn’t actually change but seem to have lead everyone away from Saturday ..... that in it self should be a big red flag for all christians man has no power to change Gods laws or word add to it or subtract from it.

All commandments are equal but the sabbath stands out , it’s the longest and one could argue there’s more then one rule or law in it . But instead of using that mentality look at it as a whole and it was designed for us and if the world just listened wow would it be a world of difference .

I consider my self a simple man , and I think that’s why I can see things more clear I accept what the bible and Jesus has said , rather then fight it and try to find a fault in it which is not possible.

Let me ask you this .....

What is a church ? Or the real definition Jesus means by it ?
It’s not a fancy building , it’s not a idol to worship , it’s a group of believers gathering under his name and grace , to share and talk about the Lord.

Crosses , pictures and sculptures of so called angels and Jesus is all wrong and goes against scripture .
Some of these churches are decked out beyond belief with gold and so on , and there’s starving ppl . Where’s the money going , just open your eyes it’s plain as day light.

Churches try to put a priest or something between you and good some what do a mediator which again is not right and the list goes on.

Kinda off topic but this church hillsong or whatever , prime example of a apostate church , preacher is tatted up , out in bars etc.. is this someone who you want teaching the gospel , is he a true representative of Jesus , not judging , but not blind. I call it how I see it . To Joel olstein preaching peace and prosperity , and the list goes on , ppl just eat this stuff up and don’t research or anything , and fall victim to itchy ears .

The deception and false teaching hasnt been this bad , even his very elect may be decieved.

Good afternoonaroonie!

Man was made for the Sabbath, Sabbath was not made for man. That's all I know.

Pagan Christmas zombie thread, back from the graaaaaaaaave!

zombiesanta.jpg

We haven't had many "Christmas is pagan!" threads this year. In fact we haven't had ANY in some forums. So we must resort to the Halloween tradition of digging up zombie threads to fill the gap.

Sorry, posted this in my blog

Break up the Fallow ground

3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Fallow ground refers to farmland that has not been sown allowing it to recuperate. What is the fallow ground for the church? They do not talk about prophecy and they do not talk about the rapture. This is our fallow ground, approximately one fourth of the Bible is essentially off limits to most churches.

4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

You are to circumcise on the 8th day, it is a new beginning. There are only two holy convocations given to us for an 8th day celebration. The first is the Feast of Tabernacles, ti is the last great day of that feast, not unlike a wedding celebration which is a week long. The other is the Lord's table which celebrates the Lord's death and resurrection, and is to be celebrated on the 8th day. There is a third feast and that is Hanukkah which was celebrated because they were not allowed to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. So the eighth day is quite interesting, a wedding feast is also the same day you circumcise males who are dedicated to the Lord.

5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

This is the message of the watchmen. The Lord is coming for the Bride so therefore circumcise your heart otherwise you will see His fury come forth like fire. The church will be circumcised and you will see the Lord cut off the fleshly part. The apostate church will be cut off and thrown in the fire.

6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

Wow, this is the same thing all the prophets have been saying. Directly north of Jerusalem is Moscow. Likewise for the US, if we are attacked from the North pole that also would be Russia. Look at this prophecy it is as though God is telling us that when the flesh is cut off the knife will come from the North Pole! Is this a reference to Christmas?

7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah has gone up from his thicket. The Lord may use the bear to attack, but ultimately this judgement is from the Lord.

8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned back from us.

This is the message of the watchmen, repent, prepare to meet your God, forsake the materialism and worldliness and lusts of the flesh and of the eyes.

9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

What we have seen in Ukraine is not making the heart of the king to perish. No one is astonished. Maybe at this point there are many prophets wondering about Ezekiel 38 and some other more recent prophecies. But what is about to happen will cause many in power to have a heart attack and to be astonished. Pearl Harbor made us angry, it didn't cause us to have a heart attack. Maybe 911 did cause our princes to be astonished. So we are going step by step to fulfill this prophecy.

10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

This is not the Antichrist saying it. Do not think this is referring to the Antichrist confirming the covenant. Nor can you refer to Thessalonians where Paul says "when they say peace and security", no, this is the Lord saying it. When were we told that we would have peace by the Lord? The angels told us the shepherds this when Jesus was born. When were we told that the sword would reach unto the soul? Simeon told Mary this when Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day.

We are told this every year as we recite the Christmas story.

Who is saying Peace and safety?

1Thessalonians 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

The Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. We are told in the Bible that Satan is the thief. So the Day of the Lord comes when Satan with the Antichrist will come as a counterfeit Christ to deceive the world and exercise his full dominion over the world. I thought that the whole world lies in the evil one? Not exactly, Jesus paid the price to redeem those out of the age of darkness and into the kingdom of light. The age of grace is like a grace period on a debt. Yes, there is a debt from sin, but Jesus death and redeeming blood has given us a grace period. When that grace period is over then the debt of sin will have to be fully paid by those who are not redeemed by the blood. Like a vicious creditor Satan will come and take everything away.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

This is not the antichrist saying "Peace and safety", no this is those upon whom the sudden destruction is going to come. The big quote that describes 2022 is "Normal is not coming back, Jesus is". Everyday the situation gets worse and worse and worse. So how, at this time, will they say "peace and security"? For hundreds of years we interpreted this as the Antichrist confirming the covenant with the many, but that is not what this is saying. This is referring to the woman who is with child and goes into travail, they are the ones upon whom sudden destruction comes and they are the ones saying "peace and security". When does the church say that?

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Compare this with the Lord's word to Sardis in Revelation 3, that if they didn't repent and dig into His word as they did at the beginning then He would come as a thief and they wouldn't know the hour. When does the Protestant church say "Peace and security"? They say this at Christmas every year, that is when they say it. All these watchmen have been looking and wondering when the Lord is coming? Paul tells us it is when the dead church says "peace and security", and that is at Christmas.

All I’m saying as it is a commandment yet most Christian’s ain’t aware of it or if they are they follow on a Sunday which is not Jesus day. I think the biggest issue behind this is we don’t read our bibles if we did we wouldn’t miss this stuff instead we go to a church listen to a “man” give us his ideas and we trust him cause he’s holding a bible and maybe if your lucky pulls a few versus from it . The Lord says trust no man , yet we do the opposite.

So before I begin this isn’t to start a argument , poke at anyone , or create confusion . I know where I stand and curious to how so many Christians are still following the pagan ways and traditions of man.

I will start with Christmas , I personally don’t believe Jesus was born on the said day man follows , 25th . As the bible does not state this as well if you look at New Years , it’s followed on the 1st of Jan in the dead of winter please anyone tell me what’s new then! If you said nothing your right, Bible states this one clearly , “new bud ,new year” spring time is the new year and when you think about it logically completely makes sense.

Man has been so brainwashed sometimes I can’t believe it .

Moving on to the Sabbath day , this one is truly a doozy.
I want to put it this way as an example.... Mans law says we shouldn’t steal , you as a good citizen follow all the rules but steal every week , what I’m getting at is the sabbath is a commandment yet most ignore it, aren’t aware of its significance or don’t follow as it don’t fit there wants or needs or what have you .
Just FYI I’m guilty as most I do try to keep it but don’t always keep it holy . It’s funny when you look at Friday night and Saturday’s that’s when everything “ cool “ happens , all the parties , new movie releases and the list goes on . Do you think this is a accident ? No it’s not.

The devil is here to take you away from Jesus by any means , most of us this is easily accomplished but temptations of all types . For those of us who follow the sabbath I noticed he does what he can to get you to break it , for me I’m having a hard time finding work now as I don’t work saturdays and in my line of work oncall is a big part , been over a year now and I could of been working but because I will not sacrifice the sabbath I have not since. It’s been a battle , tears and all. But I will not give it up even if that means death .

The sabbath is how one grows closer to Jesus , so when someone says there close to him and does not follow I find it hard to believe . There’s only one God Jesus and one way how are we at a place so divided and so confused on what path to take as there’s only two death and everlasting life. Broad and narrow.

I can see how over the years the devil got he’s greasy little claws on literally everything and twisted/ perverted it to make it pleasing to man and quote easier to follow unquote. We are in the end days everyone we need to wake up . Jesus is to be acknowledged everyday but especially on the sabbath , the devils seal is the mark the Lords seal is received by following his word and obeying the sabbath.

If we can be lead astray but something as silly as Christmas I can’t imagine how many will fall with the great deception coming.

Much love to you all may the Lord speak to you and show you his way ....

Just looking to hear ppls thoughts on this not looking to get into heated discussions
I appreciate what you have shared here. Keep sharing what the LORD leads you to, Your labor in the LORD is not in vain!

CasS22,

I don't judge you for choosing to not celebrate the birth of Jesus. The Bible tells me that I as a believer in Christ, should not judge you whether you esteem one day over another or not. Do according to your conscience.

Likewise, I don't let followers of Ellen G White judge me according to her writings.
One thing is far more important. If you were to die today, are you 100% sure that you would go to heaven?

Feel like splitting hairs over which day is the Sabbath is just being pedantic.
It's probably just most people are off work on Sunday so that's the day this most convenient for people to go to church

Spoken like a true atheist. I suspect that for God it is more than pedantic.

Nah .. I grew up Southern Baptist and we always worshiped on sunday.
Seems a little self-righteous to judge people just for what day they worship
Also Christians are not subject to Mosaic law, as per the covenant of the New testament so yeah, it's pedantic
