Exactly! This new cat is doing wonderful works by feeding the hungry and he is to be commended, however it has nothing to do with salvation.

Our works are but filthy rags.
Just wanted to clarify -

our good works to earn or maintain our salvation are filthy rags. However, after receiving Salvation through Yeshua/Jesus Christ, we are created unto good works IN Christ Jesus...... which means we will desire to do good works BUT, NOT for salvation or maintaining salvation...the good works we do now are for the Kingdom of God...

preach the gospel, telling others about God’s grace, forgiveness; healing the sick, defending the oppressed, feeding the hungry....

We’ll be judged for theses works before the Judgment Seat of Christ- the sheep on the right and the goats on the left. There are rewards in Heaven for these good works BUT, these works are NOT earning or maintaining salvation.

Again, for the upteenth time... we DO NOT work for salvation. We must Repent, as Jesus defined Repent to the churches in Rev 2 & 3, and Overcome, if we are to inherit the promises of God.

Can you really ignore almost the entire New Testament?
Revelation 2:4-5 King James Version (KJV)

4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Here we have some sampling of the word ‘repent’ and ‘do’ the first works.

Yes, the connection of the word remember is of the mind and not a place or position such as ‘turning away’. Speaking then of sin repentance is about a change of our mind rather than changes in the position that would require action or something for us to do which is the result. So, the bible is very clear in the passage, it has to differentiate repentance (change of mind) against doing something (do the first works).

In another instance,

Rev. 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Rev. 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

The word ‘repent’ connotes the word mind, in here, the reins are used figuratively as the inmost thoughts and the heart is used as the fountain and seat of the thoughts, passions, desires, etc. thus turning away from sin falls short to the intended meaning of the word repent. Obviously, turning away is the result, the Bible says “and (indicating an additive) to repentance which is the works you do.

I would bet you would come to understand or realize by now what repentance means.

Sorry you are not impressed with what the Bible says. :(

And you know what... the Elect in Eternity will also be able to say to the nations, as does the Man Jesus... "I Am."

(here come the accusations of heresy!!!) o_O:eek:
No, I believe what the Bible says but to impress me with how many times it has been used is somewhat elementary just saying.

Didn't see this last night. Rises well above heresy sir!

THIS, is the very definition of blasphemy. Not my site, but if it were, this would be a bannable offense.

Michael Biggs claims here that these "elect" will be equal to God and say to the "nations" they ARE God!!!

Just awful!

That loser just wants to be the "I AM" one day to the nations to boast of himself persevering. What a spiritual bum.

We know who it was that wanted to be like the Most High.

My ministry is based in Medellín, Colombia, in a poor neighborhood in the center of the city, and throughout the week I go out giving out peanut butter jelly sandwiches to the homeless. Now, what good works are you doing?
Nothing wrong with that. But remember that a sandwich aint gonna help no one in hell. So we need to preach the Gospel as well

That is often overlooked by the 'social gospel' advocates, not saying you have, but many have indeed.

So, according to Matthew 28:19,20, Yeshua/Jesus has commanded us to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit......that would be the Trinity.

Do you obey that command?

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

@dcontroversal hahaha. True bro I also cant call a spade a spade. Its tough because we both come from environments where we are used to letting it fly and calling it how it is. Then we come to a tea party where all of a sudden you gotta play nice no matter the heresy being "peddled" as you'd say!

Saying good works is required is not casting judgment, it is saying the truth, because that is what the scriptures teach. It is because you people falsely believe good works are not required that you get angry with me for saying the truth that the scriptures teach.
Mamma Mia!

Lets see if I can get through to you

All the verses you keep listing about giving to the poor, feeding the hungry and so on, have you noticed that NO ONE has denied any of it?
NO ONE is against any of that, the only difference is that WE dont see it as MERIT, WE dont see it as something to do to "maintain" salvation.

ME ME ME ME ME and no one else. You guys are leaving GOD out the picture completely OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

What is God doing? Thats what I wanna know, is God just sitting there in the third heaven unemployed waiting and hoping someone gives a sandwich to someone and if not He snatches their eternal life from them?
What kind of a sideshow circus god are you suggesting we worship? Here is to hoping you believe in the trinity atleast, unlike that limmuwd guy, if not, then we know which sideshow circus god it is right off the bat!

Son, the fruit of your "salvation" is evident once again. And it will "not inherit the Kingdom of God."

"A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the Truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. " - 2Tim 2:24-26

May God grant you repentance, that you may come to know the Truth.

I was once like you, many many years ago. As you, I thought I was something special, and voiced my ignorant opinion, often making a fool of myself. But then the Lord got a hold of me; I "came to my senses" (as the prodigal son); and I repented (changed my behavior) and He has been revealing Truth to me ever since. As a "servant of the Lord" now, He has given me the gift of teaching, and as I continually "deny myself, pick up my cross daily and follow Him"
When was the last time you watched a hollywood movie or TV show? Im willing to bet that if I observed you for one day, that "deny myself" gimmick would fall apart quicker than your IKEA doityourself plan of salvation.

Again you do the SAME THING as before, every verse is about salvation with you guys, so because it says a servant of the Lord must not querrel but be gentle to all, this automatically means if someone isnt doing this they arent saved? You wanna talk about a weird interpretation. This is written to Timothy to begin with, and Timothy was in the ministry, JOE SHMOE probably is not in the ministry, he works as a plumber.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Maybe you should make a thread about that.😅

Jesus our God did indeed endure what we could not, He is our mighty and Holy savior.

This thread was made specifically to point out how it is by Him we are saved and not works. Like the bible clearly teaches.
