The resurrection as an event.........I am struggling here. I am trying to understand how this works. For example what happens to those who are never buried in the ground, what happens to those who were buried only to be dug up at a later time, what happens to those babies who are murdered for the sake of convenience. Why would God need these old bodies in order to make a new one? Why would I want this old body in any form after it has caused me so much misery? What about the saints under the alter who cry out for vengeance ? What about the great cloud of witnesses that surround us ? What will these who arise from the ground look like?

We know we as Christians we have been born again. We know as Christians we are saved (delivered) each day. WE are delivered from this body of death. As the flesh dies (knowing we have put it to death by the power of the Spirit) we are resurrected to life.

Make no mistake about it there is no foreignness after death. What ever you are when you die ( physical) is what you will deal with in the next life. Fortunately we will not have the devil to deal with. We will be free of the temptations of the flesh and the RESURRECTION of the Body of Christ will continue. We as Christians will become perfect as He is perfect. When this has been completed we will be presented to the Father as the Bride of Christ. This is why we were created.

Question: The resurrection as taught by Paul, is it an event or is it a process ?
An event, in a moment, twinkling of an eye acurately describes the speed at which the dead in Christ STAND AGAIN <--ANASTASIS-->RESURRECT and the speed at which those alive are changed and given a glorified, celestial body.........

The event you speak of is for those who are alive and remaining. If you choose to call it a rapture ( even tho that word does not exist in scripture ) I guess I can live with that, However lets be clear it is NOT a resurrection. There is only one resurrection for Christians and it is not an event it is a process.
