The forbidden fruit is comonly known today as ego, named by an unbeliever. We have knowledge of good and evil in the mind of the flesh. The garden of God being in the heart where we have fellowship with God "He that is joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him." But chased out of the garden, our spirit having died to the Love of God; living for ourselves is in the mind of the flesh. The fruit of desiring control is mentioned in the bible as rebellion the sin of witchcraft and stuborness idolatry: another God or desiring to be as God. While "Love does not insist on it's own Way." The Tree of Life, the wisdom of God was also in the midst of the Garden. "Christ is made to us wisdom from God."

Your not alone, everyones humor needs help, except God, and we are "Fools for Christ." Does anyone know the verse in the bible that describes God's humor; the meaning of the verse is Love to the point of folly for His beloved: that he would nulify the old covenant and take the blame and die for us?

How many Apostles do we know were present at the Sermon on the Mount? And who were they?
All twelve were present.

Luke 6:20 New International Version
Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

Answer is at the end:
When Jesus said on the cross "It is finished," "God speaks of a New Covenant in His blood, means He made the old obsolete." "He came to deliver those who through fear of death were held their whole lifetime in bondage." When we think like men in the flesh and desire control, the enemy is given room to cause divisions. "From where come wars among you? Are they not from the lusts of the flesh." Those who desired control nullified their covenant with God. The old covenant could only be nullified by the death of the one who established it. "Had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory." "Had there been a law that could save us, salvation would have been by the law." But the law exposed our selfish motives to bring us to Christ, so that no man would glory in himself. "The foolishness of God is Wiser than the wisdom of the wise of this world." Love to the point of folly for His Beloved, that we may be a new creation cleansed in His blood.

Since your waiting,
... I am convinced that there are such in heaven awaiting the first Resurrection to rule with Christ. There is more than one heaven. The third heaven is the Resurrection.
(don't worry Lafftur - I know it is off-topic, and it is a very divisive one. This is my last post on the matter).

Who are you talking about, stillness? It is clear from the passages already quoted that David is not in heaven. So who does go there? ..just believers since Christ? It doesn't really make sense.

But what are you 'convinced' of? Is it an immortal soul? This goes all the way back to Genesis..

God said:
Gen 2:17 ..but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
Satan said:
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die,

One of these statements must be wrong. Who do you believe?

(Yes, Adam and Eve did live on for a while, but only because of the blood sacrifice of an animal, establishing the model of substitutionary sacrifice..
Gen 3:7 ..And they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made girdles for themselves.
Gen 3:21 And for Adam and his wife Jehovah God made coats of skins, and clothed them).

So what is death? Is it just apparent earthly death, while we enjoy life beyond the grave?
Ecc 9:5 ..but the dead do not know anything, nor do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.
Ecc 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you go.

Sounds a lot like 'sleep' to me, in need of resurrection to overcome.

Sleep = Death
Joh 11:11 Our friend Lazarus sleeps. But I go so that I may awaken him out of sleep.
Joh 11:12 Then His disciples said, Lord, if he sleeps, he will get well.
Joh 11:14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

So when is resurrection? Has it already happened?

2Ti 2:16 But shun profane, vain babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
2Ti 2:17 And their word will eat like a gangrene; among whom are Hymeneus and Philetus,
2Ti 2:18 who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and who overthrow the faith of some.

Ok, so when?
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But each in his own order: Christ the first-fruit, and afterward they who are Christ's at His coming;

When?
Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first.
(Rev 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound).
1Co 15:52 ..in a moment, in a glance of an eye, at the last trumpet. For a trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall all be changed.

I know this all goes against long tradition, but I do think it stacks up. And it doesn't detract anything from the narrative, I think it makes the work of Christ on the cross all that much more important. The death of Jesus on the cross is much more than a nice gesture to show God's love, it is crucial for the forgiveness of everyone, ever.

Anyway, enough - the defence rests.
..or am I an offence? :)

(Now, if anyone is going to refute my position, please, please provide scriptural references. I truly am open minded in search of truth, I just haven't found anything to the contrary on this point. And before anyone throws me the 'absent from the body, present with the Lord' line, skip it. It is a one off unclear passage (that is probably poorly translated) that is way over used - because its all you have. All the plain passages point a different way, whether we like it or not).

..and to lighten the mood, a trivia question (though I struggle calling anything in God's word 'trivial')..

When the Israelites crossed the Jordan toward Jericho, the water was parted and 'piled up in a great heap'.
How far upstream did the waters reach?

(..and I don't know exactly how, but I do think the name of the town must be significant)

All twelve were present.

Luke 6:20 New International Version
Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
I don't think all 12 were there.

Apostles are disciples, but not all disciples are Apostles:

Matthew 4:18-22 New King James Version (NKJV)
Four Fishermen Called as Disciples
18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.21 Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

As far as I know, these are the only four we know were present at the Sermon on the Mount. In fact, it appears the author himself of the Sermon on the Mount was NOT present:

Well AFTER Jesus had come down from the Mount, and moved around doing healings and miracles, we read THIS:

Matthew 9:9 New King James Version (NKJV)
Matthew the Tax Collector
9 As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.

Oh, I got it wrong! Well, I didn't really know the answer; I just ventured a guess. Now at least I know that Matthew wasn't present because he was called after the Sermon.

My first thought was not to reply since im hoping not to have quarel left in me and not to go back. But you say your open minded. It's writen, "If any man thinks he knows, he does not know as he should, but if a man Loves God that same man is known of Him." Another place sais the same thing in few words, "Knowlege puffs up but Love buids up." if we think we know we stop learning; but if we Love God, "He that is Joined to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him." The kingdom of heaven is where jesus is Lord. A few references, "The kingdom of heave does not come with observation... the Kingsom of heaven is among you (within you)" "We are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." A while bach I spent time allone to seek the Lord, and when i saw my failure to seek Him first with my whole heart, told Him Im sorry and intended to leave in the morning: 3 days earlier than planed, and went to sleep. I woke up at midnight and the Lord asked me: What's your purpose for being here? I answered: to find my purpose. He said: Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these thimgs shall be added to you.
The Lord will not tel you to seek something that you cant attain. There was more to the convwesation, i asked him if I should stay or leave in the morning? He said continue to apear before God. I umderstood continue was lifelong and now i realise, eternal since as we continue in Him: the Kingdom of heaven, we dont die except dying daily in the reconciliation of the cross: to put off the old man and His deeds.
I did not need this experience to believe we can experience the Kingdom of heaven now and neither do i claim to have attained. We ascend when we have clean hands and a pure heart, then we can enter. "As we walk in the light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with Another and the blood of Jesud cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
You should know the acout of Paul cough up to the Third heaven and of John who wrote Revelation, "I was cough up in the spirit on the Lord's day."
I could go on with the experiences of others who either died and were sent back and some who got to visit because of their delight in the Lord: He gave them the desire of their heart...

This one stumped me in high school when I played a Bible Trivia game. Try to answer without looking it up.

Who rescued Jeremiah from the mud pit?

(What human instrument. I am not expecting, 'God' as an answer.)

I kind of lost interest in that game. i believe it had a card that asked about Marian visions, wanting the answer, Fatima, which was totally off-topic.

Was it so that no one would say that a woman had slain him? Was he the one that got hit by a woman throwing a rock from the wall, and the one David mentioned to Joab when he lost men in a similar situation... including Uriah?

Hey don't mind me, I see seone already got it right and and I won't cheat and look up Elim. What is the difference between understanding knowlege, and the wisdom of God. "Wisdom is the principal thing therefore get wisdom and with all your getting, get understanding." Since the wisdom of God is manifold I will give clues. The wisdom of God bears fruit: peacable gentle easy to be received, without partiality (respect of person) full of mercy and good fruit. Our umderstanding can mislead us.
Much can be said of the wisdom we receive from God. "Now we know in part but then we shall know fully even as we are known." Or if any man loves God the same is known of Him. So how do you know wether you have wisdom or understanding of the Truth. What does wisdom have the ability to do that our understanding can not do?
Whoa! Whoa! @stillness,

This is Bible Trivia, NOT Bible Discussion Forum......:giggle:

We simply ask questions that are plainly and easily answered in the Bible scriptures, NOTHING that requires "interpretation" of the scriptures.

Our questions are just to cause each other to go back to our Bibles and search the scriptures..........we might actually read our Bibles more and find them and each other enjoyable.

After someone answers a question they are free to give any insight or their personal thoughts about the scripture BUT, the answers HAVE TO BE FOUND IN THE BIBLE.

Here's an example of an ACCEPTABLE Question:

Q: How many disciples did Yeshua/Jesus have?

A: 12

Here's an example of a NOT ACCEPTABLE Question:

Q: Why did Yeshua/Jesus choose 12 disciples and not 22?

The answer to this question is NOT in the Bible, although it is very interesting.

So, if you have insight about why 12 and not 22, then ask the ACCEPTABLE question first and then feel free to give your insight about why 12 and not 22 disciples.

Please keep playing Bible Trivia with us, just be sure to ask ACCEPTABLE questions. All are welcome and encouraged to play!!!(y)

Is not this forbidden fruit from the Serpents loins?
No, the forbidden fruit is from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. That's all the Bible says.

Be sure to ask Bible Trivia questions that CAN BE FOUND IN THE BIBLE, NOT private interpretation.

Thanks!

Great question!(y)

Joshua 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

So this is both a question and an inquiry into your post back to me!

1) is the tree of life Christ Jesus?
According to the scriptures

2) Is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil the serpent?

I wasn't asking a question with my statement about the serpent i was answering her question about the forbidden fruit in a question form!!
Anyhow i did not mean for it to be a question for your thread to be answered but to be pondered!
But TKS none the less!!
