This one stumped me in high school when I played a Bible Trivia game. Try to answer without looking it up.

Who rescued Jeremiah from the mud pit?

(What human instrument. I am not expecting, 'God' as an answer.)

I kind of lost interest in that game. i believe it had a card that asked about Marian visions, wanting the answer, Fatima, which was totally off-topic.
Hello @presidente!

So, I'm thinking Jeremiah wasn't the only one rescued from a mud pit........ David must have ended up in one too...... He wrote about in Psalm 40:

Psalm 40:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

I'm still searching the Bible for the answer to your question about who rescued Jeremiah.......be right back!(y)

So this is both a question and an inquiry into your post back to me!

1) is the tree of life Christ Jesus?
According to the scriptures

2) Is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil the serpent?

I wasn't asking a question with my statement about the serpent i was answering her question about the forbidden fruit in a question form!!
Anyhow i did not mean for it to be a question for your thread to be answered but to be pondered!
But TKS none the less!!
I understand. So, do you have a Bible Trivia question?:love:(y)

Paul was shipwrecked on what island?
Well, Paul was shipwrecked 3 times but, the only name of an island I found was Malta.

Acts 28:1 New International Version (NIV)
Paul Ashore on Malta
28 Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta.

2 Corinthians 11:25 New International Version (NIV)
25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,

Great question! I had to go look it up! I had not realized Paul was shipwrecked 3 times! Interesting...

Are we allowed to do that?

I'll give you a clue. The servant of the king.
Absolutely!! Everyone can go grab their Bibles and look it up! Bible scripture searching is highly encouraged!

And besides....... aren't ALL the answers to Life's questions in the Bible "so to speak"......... perhaps we'll find more than we went in search for.......:love:(y)

Found it! It was Ebed-Melek in the NIV and Ebedmelech in the KJV.

Great question!(y)

Jeremiah 38:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
11 So Ebed-Melek took the men with him and went to a room under the treasury in the palace. He took some old rags and worn-out clothes from there and let them down with ropes to Jeremiah in the cistern. 12 Ebed-Melek the Cushite said to Jeremiah, “Put these old rags and worn-out clothes under your arms to pad the ropes.” Jeremiah did so, 13 and they pulled him up with the ropes and lifted him out of the cistern. And Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guard.

Jeremiah sure did go through a lot..... just pondering his life.... it's a lot to think about...

Yes! Okay, guess I'm not very good at this??!

My question is:

Is the tree of Life, in the garden of Eden Christ Jesus?
I cannot find a verse in the Bible that plainly says Yeshua/Jesus is the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.

Please share your answer with us from the Bible. It needs to be a Bible verse that says it plainly.

Where is the Bible Verse........
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful." John 15:1-2

What I think, and something I posted here (on CC) over 4 years ago:

As Christians, we are exhorted to bear fruit.

We know we are not trees, but only {metaphorical} branches, offshoots of the true vine, Jesus Christ. I believe He was the {metaphorical} tree of Life placed in the garden of Eden; He holds the keys to life and death; all life is in Him; He is author and giver of life etc, and eternal life is promised to those who surrender to and abide in Him (John 15:4-5).

The fruit we are to bear has different aspects to it. One is character building: the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Peter adds to this: make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love. For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately.

So our life surrendered to God, and our works through faith are fruit, and so are people who come to Christ through us (Rom 1:3; Phil 4:17), and there is also the fruit of our lips as we praise God and witness to others (Hebrews 13:15).

These are good fruits, partaken of when aligned with the will of God.

Evil fruits would be the result of disobeying God, defying God, following self will in opposition to God's will, severing ourselves from fellowship with Him, etc. That is the fruit Adam and Eve bore and ate (lived). They followed the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life, in turning away from God after being in fellowship with Him. It is what we all do before being regenerated by the Holy Spirit of God.

I think it will be wonderful to be restored to the garden in the new earth. Come LORD Jesus.

Hi JamOn, here you go:

2 Corinthians 11:25 New International Version (NIV)
25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,
spent a night and a day in the open sea. 14 of them in acts 27 the ship was set adrift but it wrecked I think lol
