The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus is the highest law in the universe. This is Gods prescribe order of victory, over sin, the world, flesh, and the Devil. This law tells the Believer how the Holy Spirit operates for sanctification.

The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus demands that the Believer place and maintain their Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won. This allows the Holy Spirit the legal means to help you in every capacity of life, which work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure (a uninterrupted flow of Grace because the Believer is walking in the spirit). This is a true Believer who has been awarded BY GOD "RIGHTEOUSNESS."

The person who doesn't believe this, understand this, or never heard of this is 100% functioning in the law of sin and death (the 2nd highest law in the universe - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil), i.e., the works of the flesh (There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.)

Without Faith placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won, the sin nature that was silence (not eliminated) begins to rule! Most Believers are taken captive by Satan at his will (2 Tim. 2:24-26).

Typical projection from someone who spits in Jesus Christ’s face. God’s grace is sufficient, much to your legalistic chagrin.

Why do we as Christians continually battle sin ?

The scripture tells us that when Christ died and was resurrected he defeated sin and sin was done away with.

Having been made Lords over sin why do some still bow down to sin ? Its as if some who profess to be Christians think they can serve two masters.

Our lives now should be centered on living for Christ. Now we are Lords over sin. Now sin has no part in our lives.

When we fall short of what we know would be pleasing to Christ do not give sin the credit. Sin has been done away with. Sin no longer has dominion over us.

Because we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ we are the Sons of God. As Sons we are held accountable for our deeds. If the deeds we have done are against the will of God then we as His children will be chastised.

As a child of God You can ask for forgiveness, however because you are no longer under the bondage of sin, the hand of God will fall upon you in the form of chastisement for whom He loves he chastises

Rest assured .....Sin has no part in this relationship.

WE have been set free from sin and its condemnation. WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN !!!!

Only Jesus is sinless and sin will be present in one's life until death.

The new life in Him is what is sinless.

The flesh in the unbeliever is not any better than the flesh in the believer.

I know you understand that righteousness comes through faith and because you are righteous you are justified and being justified we have peace with God. I know you understand this and because I know you understand this I do not know how to answer your question. Perhaps you could give me more insight into your thoughts.

By faith we believe in His redemption,we put on HIS righteousness,and He alone can bring peace in a storm filled life of sin!
He justifies the life we live for Him,bc He justifies us!

If we were still sinners who sin after coming to faith in our Lord, and were Baptized, then regeneration, rebirth, and new creation, were of non effect.

A quick reading through the small epistle of 1 John reveals a number of verses that seem to disagree with each other. For instance, in 1 John 1:8,10 the author assures his readers that all people have sinned. In 2:1, John seems to indicate that even Christians will sin and therefore need Jesus Christ to be their advocate. Yet, 3:6 has John on record as saying: “Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.” In verse 8 of chapter 3, John wrote: “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning.” And verse 9 states: “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” Steve Wells, in his work, The Skeptic’s Annotated Bible, wrote concerning these verses in chapter 3: “Earlier in this letter (1:8,10) John assured us that everyone sins. Yet in these verses he claims that Christians don’t sin” (Wells, 2003).


Are these verses examples of contradictions within the Bible? If they are not, what do they mean? Do Christians sin, or don’t they?


The answers to these questions actually are much simpler than it may, at first, appear. When we compare other translations of 3:6,8,9, we see that the actual Greek wording of the verses makes a major difference in the understanding of the passages. R.C.H. Lenski translated 3:6 as follows: “Everyone remaining in him does not go on sinning; everyone continuing to sin has not seen him, nor has he known him” (1966, pp. 457-458, emp. added). Lenski translated verse 9: “Everyone that has been born from God does not go on doing sinning because his seed remains in him; and he is not able to go on sinning because he has been born of God” (p. 462, emp. added). The New International Version translates 3:6: “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him” (emp. added).


Lenski explained that 1 John 3:6,9 uses a Greek construction called the present durative, which should be translated “does not go on sinning” (pp. 458,462). John, then, is saying no more in these verses than what Paul was saying in Romans 6:1-2, when he stated: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any long in it?” Numerous other verses teach that Christians will commit sins, even after they have been washed in the blood of Christ (cf. Romans 7:14-25; Philippians 3:12-13). However, John is saying that any person who rebelliously continues to sin, making it his or her usual, habitual way of life, is not following God. In 1 John 3:9, the Greek present infinitive means to habitually sin without compunction. In more practical terms (to offer an example), it is one thing for a Christian to slip up and commit an act of sexual immorality for which he or she is penitent. It is altogether another thing for a person to live as a prostitute and claim to be “having fellowship with the Father” (1 John 1:6).


Therefore, it is easily shown that no discrepancies exist between the verses under discussion in 1 John. Furthermore, it is refreshing to know that when a Christian does sin, “we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must place and maintain proper Faith the size of a mustard seed exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary, i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, where the victory was won so that His life would be lived through you. This gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to help and do what is needed to be done in the Believers life because the Believer is glorifying Christ, God's beloved Son in whom He is pleased. You are now operating in the spirit. No Believer can fix the flesh with the flesh. All fruits that are added to the leaves of the Believer most be done by the Holy Spirit or you enter the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21).

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation. Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross; understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory (Rom. 8:2).

The Holy Spirit works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ" i.e., "The Blood of Jesus;" which demands that our Faith be placed and maintained exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil:Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:15


The Apostle Paul makes it very clear in Romans 8:10 that the physical body, mind / intellect, and the heart (which is evil - Jeremiah 17:9) has been rendered helpless because of the original sin; consequently, the Believer trying to overcome by willpower presents a fruitless task. Only the Holy Spirit can mortify the deeds of the flesh and make us what we ought to be (Romans 8:13). This means we cannot do it ourselves. Once again, He performs all that He does within the confines of the Finished Work of Christ (Romans 8:2).

If a Christian will and their efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work, The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus said deny yourself and pick up your cross and follow me (Luke 9:23).

Remember our bodies are dead and useless to God. The heart is prone to wander away from God's love and eat from "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." The reason why the body is dead is because of the effects of the fall has made us totally incapable of yielding spiritual obedience on a regular basis (Jeremiah 13:23). So there must be a source outside of myself that helps me to enter into sanctification which is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13).

Note: The Believer must repent not just for the bad they are doing, but also for the good they are doing. Why? Because the Believer can depend on the good to get them through (Jer. 6:13-15). Good things will always follow right living. However, that is not God's way. His way is Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work (Rev. 3:17-22).

How does a Believer maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is - John 1:1-14, 29) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross where the victory was one. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV
