If you find a piece of paper on the ground, pick it up, look at it and throw it back on the ground, is that littering?

No don't pick up litter. Don't do the earth a good work. Just leave the litter where it is so it can build up and pollute water and kill wildlife..

You have a very odd sense of humor. :/

YES, because you picked it up so it wouldn't be litter anymore, then threw it back on the ground, thus making it litter once again..

Is this a trick question?

Okay here is my take...... it was litter, then it was not litter, then it became litter again.

This in no way mimics the plan of salvation though :)

I picked up a written paper once to read it and my conscious would not let me throw it back down. :)
I once picked up a store receipt that was wadded up on the ground. Was $10 inside. Kept the $10 and threw the receipt in the trash.. lol

My buddy asked me the question verbatim and I was stumped. 😊

You were stumped ...okay maybe I am missing something?
Thinking more deeply then. :p... no not littering cause it was already litter...however by throwing back to the ground one could have prevented it from being litter.

Don't take the risk of relittering. its not worth it! Leave that rubbish on the ground. let the wind take care of it! Also those high powered blowers do just as good a job as the wind.

for those who have not read a post that we answered in another thread way back about littering =
'trash throws out trash', and now I will add, 'if a person actually bends over and picks up trash
and then throughs it down again instead of putting it in a 'trash-can', then, they are trashier than regular trashers...
