I'll tell you what a friend of mine told me once when I thought I'd made a really grievous error as pertained to my future; Don't beat yourself up over this. You're alive. That means you survived to learn from it (that thing I did) and you won't make the same stupid mistake.
Hello again @Alessia, @Whispered's post reminded me of some very encouraging words from the Bible, from some of the darkest days in Israel's history. It is one of my favorite passages in the OT, ~especially~ verses 22-23.

I can be so very hard on myself and hold myself to such rigorous standards but, Jesus paid the price for our sins, debt paid. Forgive yourself, learn from it, and I am going to try to do the same for me!
