US President Donald Trump has demanded an immediate impeachment trial in the Senate, amid an impasse among Democrats and Republicans over when it may start.
On Wednesday, the House impeached Mr Trump on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
But Democrats have yet to embark on the next stage, arguing the Republican-controlled Senate is refusing witnesses and will not hold a fair trial.
The Senate's numbers mean Mr Trump is almost certain to be acquitted. [Full Article]

Newt Gingrich said some weeks ago before this travesty took place, that the Democrats have been so dedicated to this effort and for so long that they almost have to go through with it. Or their base will turn on them. And he was right!

The one's that need be impeached are each and every member of the House responsible for leading or participating in this soft coup and act of sedition.
Trump did nothing wrong. These people are a travesty in office. God save America from the Democrats on the Hill.

They wanted to impeach him before he took office. Then in office we already had 7 different times that the House voted on impeachment. 1 for just not liking Trumps language. Or his border stance. Or how he treated that one basketball team.

Really? Lol

Idk I almost think they should do like Senator Lindsey Graham has stated. He wants to shut it down as fast as possible.

All those Democrats that hate Trump now loved him when he was one of them; a Democrat.
Now they hate him because they had all their eggs in Hillary's basket when she was running for the office they were sure she couldn't lose. But she did.
Now everything they were banking on with Hillary is over. They have Trump to deal with. And they started going after him with the perjury committed , along with the fraudulent HRC backed$ Steele dossier, prior to the election. Wire taps on his election. And they want the American people to buy that it was Russia colluding against our election? When that FISA warrant and how it was garnered shows it wasn't Russia that was colluding against the election, it was HRC and our own people pulling strings to corrupt the election.

Yes and the more you dig, the more rotten it gets. Especially the relationship between Biden, his son, the Ukrainian energy company and the corrupt basically mob boss that practically runs the country.

This was a little premature. Chances are that the Senate could dismiss this whole farce (which it should).

Generally speaking we know that Russia has both the will, and the means, to be meddling with other countries affairs.

Distinguishing this knowledge to this particular case, while simultaneously taking into consideration the evidence, solid or hearsay, that is present here, there’s a fair chance there was some sort of foreign interference in the general election. We can’t be 100% sure, though.

HRC is not president. Comparing Trump with her is not establishing an environment, where the standards of which he is expected to meet can be compared to her.

It all boils down to whether we will accept economic growth before high moral standards.

Don't forget Nancy Pelosi's son Paul and even Mitt Romney are linked to shenanigans in Ukraine too. This could explain Nancy's gung-ho zeal to go after Trump as a cover to distract from those facts.

So does China. It isn't a matter of can , it is a matter of did they?

And therein is the crux of the matter.
Hearsay, save for a few minor exceptions, is not admissible in court.
The articles of Impeachment the House drafted against Trump are derived through hearsay.

This is why I think Nancy Pelosi is reticent in forwarding the articles to the Senate. Because the Senate knowing that can ask the Chair to rule the articles inadmissible.

HRC is not president. Comparing Trump with her is not establishing an environment, where the standards of which he is expected to meet can be compared to her.
If one is invoking moral standards as a litmus test for CiC then those markers are certainly applicable for those who seek the office. HRC is the reason the Democrats are on this rampage.

It all boils down to whether we will accept economic growth before high moral standards.
Economic growth can be measured.
Who measures and first defines what qualifies as , high moral standards?
If that is something you hold as the litmus test for a right and proper president, then you may wish to adjust your field of judgment to include all branches and their representatives or jurists so as to be fair in the pleading.

They can dismiss based on the articles being derived from hearsay evidence alone. I think Pelosi well knows this and that's why she's playing games and not releasing the articles to the Senate.

The second article, obstruction of Congress, is a farce. Executive Privilege, which the Dem's well know, was exercised by Trump when Pelosi, Schumer and others were asking for all manner of documents months back. Now they're trying to use Trump's mere refusal, ignoring EP as his right, to say he was basically in contempt when he refused their requests for certain documents.

They're desperate.

Did you see Trump's tweet caling for Pelosi to be charged with obstructing Congress? Now there's definitely truth in that, since the business of Congress has been put on hold, while this Kangaroo Court makes fools of themselves.

A kangaroo court is a court that ignores recognized standards of law or justice and often carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides. The term may also apply to a court held by a legitimate judicial authority which intentionally disregards the court's legal or ethical obligations. The defendants in such courts are often denied access to legal representation and, in some cases, proper defence and the right of appeal.

Prejudicial bias of the decision-maker or from political decree are among the most publicized causes of kangaroo courts. Such proceedings are often held to give the appearance of a fair and just trial, even though the verdict was already decided before the trial actually began.

Wait, does that mean he wants to expedite the process or work toward a quicker job at being acquitted?

No, I didn't see that. Can you find it and post it for us?

I did see that when the House voted for Impeachment Pelosi silenced the applause that started up. That was decent of her.

Unfortunately, the last few decades have seen the rise of what can best be described as “lawfare” in our nation. It is the practice of using the law as an instrument of political power instead of a measure of justice. The tactic is typically advanced by Democrats to try and punish political opponents when they can’t win at the ballot box. You’ve seen this through a variety of random federal judges making unilateral declarations contrary to the will of the voters, impeachment is simply the latest example of it.

Well hopefully Barr and others are working to bring the actual offenders in office to justice. Starting with those who manufactured the Steele dossier that led to the perjury that garnered the wire tap warrant from the FISA court, and all the way down the ladder to every last member of Congress invested in this soft coup and acts of Sedition against our president and nation.

I'd love to see the offenders walked out of Congress and wearing handcuffs as they are escorted into the paddy wagon. I think I'd give a minute from my life for that one. It would save America from their machinations and it would send a clear message to those like them should they think to enter the office with the same nefarious intentions.

This is laughable. "High moral standards"! Which of the Democrats have ever had high moral standards??? They specialize in lying and smearing anyone and everyone.

Particularly Hillary Clinton, who was criminally involved with many things, and should have already been behind bars.

The only thing laughable here is your sentiment. You’re jumping to conclusions. I haven’t said a word about the Democrats holding high moral standards. Go raise your straw man somewhere else.

Well if you want *high moral standards* they must apply across the board. But the Leftists have a double standard -- ignore all the evil on the Left, and then manufacture evil deeds on the right.

This is clearly evident in the mainstream media. They have deliberately failed to expose the evil deeds of the Democrats (starting with Obama). But they have been slandering Trump day after day along with their Leftist buddies.
