I strongly disagree with Mary being described as the mother of God. Its inference alone I find apalling

But I am not saying this simply to people of the RC faith

As so many Trinitarians have pointed out to me concerning their beliefs, they all must believe in effect the same thing
Well. I do not believe so. Jesus was long before he came to earth.

Mary gave birth to his physical body. A body without a soul is dead. Mary did not give Jesus his soul. Jesus allowed his soul to be placed into the body.

Speaking to the Divinity of Jesus, i think Mary did not deserve the credit for being the mother of God since Jesus Divinity is already pre-existed before Mary exist (Micah 5:2). She did not conceived Jesus' Divinity.
well she was credited because while she was pregnant, back then woodloch mother or children was a disgrace and they would stone someone for having a child by someone else. She stood up for what she did and she gave life to the flesh of Christ.

I believe being persucuted should be credited by God :)

Mary is the mother of Jesus. Scripture says that she is, therefore she is. Jesus is God, and Mary is His mother, therefore she is the mother of God, in a manner of speaking.

Remember. Mary was a sinner when she concieved, She was a sinner while she carried the Son, And she was a sinner until the day she died.

Her son redeemed her like he redeemed the rest of us. He was not only her son, but her savior.

She is to be blessed, Because of what she had to go through (a fornicator or adulterer, giving birth to a bastard son) which in her day women who did this were outcasts of society. Yet she did this for God. and is blessed because of it.
If Mary is a sinner, she is less of a sinner than we all are, for at least I can say without contradiction that I am sinner. Which of us have done as good as Mary? All have sinned. But it's slander and unfair to call her a sinner. Only God has the right to call anyone a sinner. It's the Holy Spirit who says a person is a sinner. He convicts me of my sin.
Mary lived a sinless life according to Scripture and tradition. She had the ancestral sin. It is difficult to imagine she committed any major sin. But remember the verse in Romans about death coming even to those who had not committed a sin in the likeness of the transgression of Adam. Death is a natural part of the creation now that Adam and Eve sinned, even animals, who do not sin, must die. Mary, too, was mortal, and died, even though she committed no mortal sins. If she committed any actual sins, these would have been venial and not mortal. In any case, we should fear God enough not to try to stand in judgment of the Ever-Virgin Mary. It's just wrong to disrespect her so much by calling her a sinner. It is sinful to do that. "Judgment must begin at the house of God."
It's better for Christians of other traditions to look at themselves first before they start passing judgment on the holy saints of the church. The only one I am going to call a sinner is myself. But the Bible says we all have sinned. And that's not a judgment on my part. The Bible says it; I believe it; that settles it. Which verse in the Bible says anywhere that "such and such" was the "sin" of Mary? You will search in vain and find the Bible nowhere says, "Mary was a sinner." In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

Matthew 12
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Send for Him
46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”
48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

Mark 3
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Send for Him
31 Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. 32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers[e] are outside seeking You.”
33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.

so can you claim kinship?

I would never impugn Mary or any other by my personal judgement, but the Word says, "For ALL have sinned...". No one is maligning the precious virgin.

Romans 3: 23 goes for the entire human race, including mary.

As far as her being a less sinner. This is the problem with mankind. We think we are "less" sinners, so we are more ok with God. God says if we break one command we are found guilty of the whole law.

Imagine if we will a place where there is a line at a specific point,. Everything above the line is bright and full of light. Everything below the line is darkness. This is how God sees us.

The line is the mark God set (the law) of which one can be right with him under our own merit. Anyone who does not meet that mark is below the line, Now what do we see? Darkness. Everyone below deserve eternal damnation. Everyone above deserves eternal fellowship with God. As we can see, there is only one who made it above the Line (Christ), Sorry Mary did not make it.

No one below the line can climb to the top and put themselves over the line, they are doomed, Because that which makes it dark to God is sin.

In other words, unless the blood of Christ washes the sin, no one below the line will make it. No matter who they are. there is not more guilty or less guilty, there is guilty. and ALL are guilty. (including Mary) and are in danger of hellfire unless they are taken out of the darkness, and moved into the light by Christ. Only he has the ability to do this.

Mary lived a sinless life according to Scripture and tradition. She had the ancestral sin. It is difficult to imagine she committed any major sin. But remember the verse in Romans about death coming even to those who had not committed a sin in the likeness of the transgression of Adam.
No where in scripture is it said mary was sinless. Scripture states the opposite. "For ALL have sinned and fall short" (this can not include original sin, for we did not commit origional sin) Again ALL would include Mary.
Death is a natural part of the creation now that Adam and Eve sinned, even animals, who do not sin, must die. Mary, too, was mortal, and died, even though she committed no mortal sins.

Physical death is a natural part of sin. But this is not what happened to Adam and Eve the "moment" they sinned, as God promised. They did die, they dies spiritually (spiritual seperation from God, as their relationship was severed We are ALL born in this state of spiritual death, And will remain in this state unless all our sin is paid for by Christ. There is no such thing as "mortal vs Venial sin" God said the fact of eating a mere fruit was worthy of death. James makes it clear if one breaks even the least of the law, he is guilty of the whole law.

Since ALL sin brings forth the penalty of death. (Spiritual) all sin can be said to be mortal (although in a spiritual not physical sense.)

Animals have no soul, so can not be saved, so are not even a part of the equation.

No one is judging Mary, They are just stating facts concerning here. Romans 3: 23 makes it clear she committed sin. If she did not commit sin, Then she is equal to Christ. and fulfilled the law. Which is against the word of God. (not to mention she would not need Christ as a savior. and she could have paid for sin, there would have been no need of Christ to come.)

As for her bring a virgin. She was at birth. But to say she remained would be an offense to her, and her Husband Joseph. Whom scripture makes clear consummated the marriage after the birth of her firstborn son.

It's better for Christians of other traditions to look at themselves first before they start passing judgment on the holy saints of the church. The only one I am going to call a sinner is myself. Where in the bible does it say "such and such was the sin of Luke, Or Timothy, Or many other of the early church leaders where no mention of personal sin were ever mentioned.

We know Mary sinned Because scripture states ALL HAVE SINNED. Unless the bible lied. And I have no reason to believe it did.

yeah we shouldn't worship mary....like many or some or one here said she only gave birth to the flesh, not the Spirit. :)
That makes absolutely no logical sense. Did your mother give birth to just your flesh? Or your person?

Even then, she only became the mother through the law... No blood connections... She's only a guardian of Jesus... Not the real mother...

Jesus is not pro-created by Mary - she has no contribution in conceiving Jesus since the Holy Spirit conceived Him. Mary only become the host of carrying Jesus in her womb.

Jesus has no origin... the Alpha and Omega...

So you mean sin has measurements? Your in error for this taking SIN differ from each other, if you murder, steal, slander, bear false witness - it is the same in the sight of God - it is still a sin

Does the Bible teaches major sin and lesser sin?

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is DEATH -
-- Whatever SIN you committed - it is the same amount of punishment - it is all equivalent...

Mary lived a sinless life according to Scripture and tradition.
Wait a minute... you say there's a record in the scripture that Mary lived a sinless life like Jesus did?
Wheres your proof? Can you give me your scriptural reference?

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short from the glory of God.

It say's all - nobody is exempted except Jesus... Mary still need the saving grace of Jesus Christ - Jesus is the only savior of the World whom the Father has sent...

wait what? have you not read what was written, God created the heaven and the earth....there was no Mary before the Lord. He is Spirit and we must worship in Spirit. He was the self existing the non created the most high God....nothing was before the Lord....but the flesh gave life for the Lord to be here....take care bro :)

ok Mary is the mother of Jesus...but not the mother of God. Jesus was both 100% man and 100% God how then can the Lord be here with out a body like us?

Also have you forgotten about Jesus being the heir of David....how then can He be the heir and yet have no fleshly connection? He needs to be in the family of David to be the heir.

Jesus only become heir of David by the Law -

I say she has no blood connection because she did not pro-created Jesus.. how can i say that?

Let's go back to biology - a baby is formed when the two major cells (sperm and egg) unite. But since there's no sperm cell in the process for Mary is a virgin (nobody has touched her not even Joseph) so her egg cell is not being used. So theres no blood connection here, since Mary did not contributed anything. Not even a single egg cell.

Why did Jesus flesh were formed in the womb of Mary - i say it is a miracle for since it is the Holy Spirit's work that conceived the flesh to the womb of Mary.

sperm of the Spirit huh... lol... well your accountable for that...

ahmm... Can you prove that the Spirit has sperms? do you say that the spirit is the one who touched Mary?

Indeed God can raise children from the stones - He even raise up Adam out from the ground(no sperm involve)

this does not prove that Mary has blood connection - The Spirit would not need some sperm thing to form a flesh... God can create something out of nothing...

Mary become the mother of Jesus by virtue of the law, and by the law...
