we are used to insults from our younger sibling .
buddy we're not siblings at all.

The false god of Catholicism is the "we all worship worship the same god" of religious pluralism.

The true God of the Bible can only be known through Jesus Christ.

My gosh the theology is horrendous.

That's nothing but sentimentality and frankly lies. The ignorant eat it up.
all you have to do is cue the sappy music at the right time and it's just so heart warming.

sorry folks I dont believe the OP knows what the gospel really is.
Lets explain to him cos I dont think he even knows. After making so many threads evading the topic.
I believe that the OP certainly does know what the gospel is and find his posts and forum decorum to be spiritually uplifting. He is also witty and quite amusing.

I dont hate Buddhism. But it can be dry cold and Godless. Dont knock what you havent tried.
the meditation when done properly is a lifesaver for some.
Buddhism is a distortion. It attempts to take certain tools encouraged to engender self reflection and ascetism and make them a means of salvation apart from Christ, Just as certain Christian sounding sects would attempt to make good works a means of salvation apart from Christ...and others would attempt to make a one time profession of Christ a means of salvation apart from any effort at running a race.

to my knowledge Buddhism does not pretend to offer salvation. there is no saviour.

Correct, not in that term. Enlightenment, nirvana, whatever term from the eastern religions that you would wish to apply.

And if you are still a Catholic, I can assure you that you are indeed a pagan
We must not, indeed cannot, determine whether a person is saved based only on their denominational membership.. You would probably conclude that I am unsaved if you judged me by that criteria. Don't even think of asking. If you go to a Church where the people are mixed up, then consider it an opportunity to help them along.

"During the years that followed, he dove completely into self-denial and meditation, and decided that this practice would lead to peace and help with suffering. He also believed that through self-denial and meditation, a person could eventually achieve a god-like state of ‘Nirvana’. " https://www.dare2share.org/worldviews/buddhists/

The impression I have is Buddhist are trying to reach salvation or reach God, but their arms are too short.
God through Jesus reached down to us.

Jesus is true, then we have one shot at salvation, and those trying to get there via reincarnation misses the boat.
If Reincarnation is true, why waste time with so many visits to this life, when one can gain salvation via Jesus.

I think He probably does, but still, many that are viewing these posts might not.

Jesus is God. He created everything. He made the iron in the nails that wicked men used to nail Him to His own trees. He came down from Heaven to endure this willingly so that He could freely offer all men salvation from the sinful state that we have all been born into since the sin of Adam. It is free to us, but we must choose to surrender completely to His will and His way for us. It is safe and ok to do that right now because He loves you and knows what is best for you. We are so fortunate that our maker is so good and kind. He wants to be your Lord, Saviour, and best Friend today.
