I really don't like that we no longer have the option to accept or reject friend requests. Now anyone can attach themselves to our followers list, and we have no choice to allow or remove them. This really is kind of dangerous, especially for the kids here, since many who attached themselves to our lists have been scammers, trolls and/or predators. There are people I don't even know, like or want on mine!!

Would it be possible to implement a way to accept or deny friend requests, such as there was on the old site? I know that myself and many other ladies here don't add men to our lists until or unless we've interacted in the forums for quite awhile, yet now that there is no option to reject them, SEVERAL men have added themselves to my list. And I don't like it.. AT ALL.. I liked it much better when I could decide who I accepted requests from. I'm sure others here feel the same way. This "followers" malarkey is for the birds. I mean, this isn't Fake Book, people. We don't need weirdos following us..

It's likely part of the software the site is built on. And that software does not work well with customization. I'd guess chances of something that embedded being changed is pretty slim.

But don't other social media sites use this same software? THEY have an option to accept or reject friend/ follower requests.. So if their sites have that option, then THIS site should have that option also.

It is an odd system. I was thinking about it the other night, wondering if I should reciprocate for the people that have "followed" me. I suppose I just don't like it being called followers enough to interact with the system.

Hopefully people don't draw too much from it, I don't have anyone that I'm following but I do like friends.

There are literally dozens of different commercially available platforms for forums with different user abilities/options. Whether the option for users to block followers is available in this software and just not activated would be a question to direct to RoboOp since he is the only person with access to that part of the Admin panel.

Ignore does appear to be functional on my profile. I will try it if someone creepy does follow me around. I don't reveal too much about myself on the internet so I usually don't have too many issues.

In order to ignore a user you have to go to their profile and click on the ignore button. The only thing that shows on your profile is the list of users that you have on ignore.
