You know you would understand scripture much better if you separated the ones pertaining to salvation from those pertaining to discipleship/walking in the Spirit and living as a new creation.

So the only real way to know if we are a true believer (if our faith is genuine) is whether we live in victory over sin, correct? And by that not practicing it.
1 John 5 -

9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God that He has testified concerning His Son. 10 The one believing in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one not believing God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning His Son.

11 And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 The one having the Son has life; the one not having the Son of God does not have life.

13 I have written these things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

1 John 3:9-10 sums it right up.
1 John 3v9-10
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

So then if someone is sinning (practices it) they are not saved. Y/N ?

How were these people "walking" (and were they "saved" or not)??

1 Corinthians 3:1-4 -

1 And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual [per prev chpt], but as fleshly—as to infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, for not yet were you able. In fact, now you are still not able, 3 for you are still fleshly. For where jealousy and strife are among you, are you not fleshly, and are walking according to man? 4 For when one might say, “I indeed am of Paul,” but another, “I of Apollos,” are you not fleshly?

The Holy Spirit coming into us is anointing not baptism

It says that is a baptism by the hand of God and tells us I was the HS. So how can it not be baptism if the spirit (the Hs baptizing us into him and his death)
Amen, I agree

1 Peter 3:20-22
In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,
and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand--with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

The baptism that saves us. This is all symbolism of the repentance from sin, the dying to self and this world, the cleansing of Gods washing through Jesus's blood, and the resurrection in Christ.

One part cannot be removed, it is a whole, to the praise of the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Romans 8
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Hence Paul's warning.

So is it water baptism or spirit. It is one or the other it can’t be both

Here is the whole piece.

Galatians 5
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [d]adultery, [e]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [f]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [g]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Translation: Awake to righteousness and do not sin. Because I want you to have salvation.
I am awake to the righteousness of God, and I have salvation. I encourage you to admit that you are and always will be a sinner saved by God’s grace through faith.
