You cannot substantiate your view through the Scriptures and you are leaning towards the teachings of men, men who interpret the Scriptures to fit a view that they want to teach and want you to believe. God was clear in what he first spoke and no man should go into the Scriptures trying to interpret God's word otherwise they will distort the word of God. Again... GOD WAS CLEAR WHEN HE FIRST SPOKE!

One more thing, the Scriptures clearly states that a believer can betray the faith.

Who are you following the john mccarthurs, the john pipers? Why don't you let the Spirit of God enlighten your mind with a true understanding of God's word, what God made clear when he first spoke.
Believe what you want GENIUS.......my stance is scriptural........And I am following no man...so...like par for the course...a working for salvation loser has nothing to offer but false accusations........

Good luck in the "many group".......see how that works out for you pal!

Very few people who teach salvation by faith + works would come right out and say that "works earn their salvation." I was once in a conversation with someone who attends the church of Christ who claimed he did not teach salvation by works, then afterwards, contradicted himself by making this statement - "It is works of obedience that help to save us and not works of the law or works of merit." Without him even realizing it, he is teaching that works help earn our salvation, even if it's only in part. Now I'm not saying you are doing the same thing, but was just making the point that many works-salvationists don't even realize they are works-salvationists. I have heard all kinds of sugar coated double talk in the past from works-salvationists who set out to justify "their version" of salvation by faith + works by trying to pass it off as salvation through faith, not works.
What Ralph and the other jokers cannot grasp....IF 1 thing must be done by man to maintain salvation it is a WORKS based false theology.

JESUS 100% maintains it or it is false and of the devil.

Water baptism is one type of baptizm
HS baptism is another type

the first type is man baptizing (immersion) in water

the second type is God himself baptizing (immersion or into) the death, burial, body of Christ. Where our sins are washed away. As mentioned in Titus 3 as the washing of regeneration of the HS,

the first type is commanded by God for all children if God after they are saved as a testimony,

the second is an act of God that occurred at the moment of faith to save a lost soul and immerse them in Christ

again EPH 4. ONE baptism. Period not 2! One saves. One is an act of obedience of a saved sinner
I agree, we are baptized in water and baptized into the Holy Spirit. Is there more to say?

1 Peter 3:20-21
In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Luke 3:3 - And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Now was this baptism for "in order to obtain" the remission of sins or for "in regards to/on the basis of" forgiveness of sins received upon repentance?

Also, in Matthew 3:11, we read - ..I baptize you with water for repentance.. Now was this baptism for "in order to obtain" repentance or for "in regards to/on the basis of" repentance?

Being water baptized "in order to obtain" repentance makes no sense whatsoever and places the cart before the horse. Believers are water baptized AFTER they repent and not before.
AMEN....Water IMMERSION is but an outward sign of an inward ACT by faith.......it is to the N.T. what circumcision was to the Old...Abraham was saved and justified by FAITH long before he got "whacked" which was an outward sign, picture of his INWARD conversion....same rings true with Immersion....it is OUR outward testimony of faith, a picture, a painting of the OLD man dying, being put in the ground with Christ and RESURRECTED a new CREATION in CHRIST JESUS.....it neither saves and or helps salvation...it is but a WORK of righteousness with NO bearing whatsoever at all ON the salvation and justification we ALREADY ETERNALLY possess by FAITH

Water baptism does not save translate 1 peter in context.

You know you would understand scripture much better if you separated the ones pertaining to salvation from those pertaining to discipleship/walking in the Spirit and living as a new creation.
Until WD-40 humbles himself and opens his eyes he will continue to walk oblivious to the truth and find himself in the many group at the end.....

And what are the consequences for those who claim to believe in Christ but are found in this willful practice of sin that you describe above?
"Claim" to believe is the key word here and "practice" does not merely mean temporarily stumble. It's a continuous, willful, habitual lifestyle.

All day? When have I denied this?
you asked if a person practices sin are they saved
John answered you yet again you deflect

It’s a waste of time. You are unable to hear
John said it I believe it. The passage you just posted does not answer my question. Next
These clowns can do nothing but conflate, misdirect, misquote, embellish, falsely accuse, twist, used deception, deceit, PREVARICATE, distort, mislead, concoct, skew and deny truth..........it is rather disturbing and sickening how they devalue JESUS, the truth, his power, his promises and drag his sacrifice through the stinking mud of self works and self glory.........

Here is the whole piece.

Galatians 5
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Key word is practice such things. Lines up with 1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin.. Also, in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, we read - Do you not know that the unrighteous (unbelievers who practice such sins) will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Verse 11 does on to say - And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

We are saved by grace through faith.
They absolutely despise the simplicity found in Christ.......How can they not see that their dogma places them in the many group that come before JESUS boasting of what they have done and expecting to enter....any and all that EMBELLISH faith with self effort to keep it or maintain it will not make the cut...there is one correct message of salvation and when one embellishes it they VOID IT and it's power to save!

There is a narrow gate and narrow path. There is no other way.
You cannot separate the parts of the gospel, because they form an eternal whole, that takes time and following to see.
What do YOU believe the gospel IS and what do YOU believe it means to BELIEVE the gospel? (Romans 1:16)

They hate the unmitigated, biblically based fact that God’s grace is unearned, freely given and irrevocable. They simply hate it.

When a person is saved they are saved. There’s no staying saved or maintaining your salvation or losing your salvation, you’re simply saved. It’s a one time occurrence that lasts forever. What is it about that basic elementary concept that you fail to understand?
I see one lacking ocular insight gave you a red x.......Their worst day is coming.....and it will last eternally
