Indeed. The Book of Matthew in chapter eight shares with us that Jesus healed a Centurion's servant. The man's faith was so genuine that Jesus did not even have to go to his house to do so, and in fact the Centurion said he did not feel himself worthy of receiving Jesus there.

If Jesus would heal the servant of an officer in the Roman army and due to his faith, I can believe Jesus would still lead those who attended His crucifixion to faith.
The Roman army regularly crucified people and must surely have tired of the gore. But Jesus' crucifixion was different and I do believe that that would have had an affect on those in attendance at what they thought was just another killing of one Rome's laws thought worthy.
I have a copy of Risen in my DVD library. Very good film. Deeply moving. And it was quite unique in sharing the perspective of a Tribune, ranked higher than a Centurion in the army, at his evolving levels of fealty.
If I keep it up I'm going to watch it again this weekend.
Especially after that trailer re-run.
And I loved the horses in the film. Beautiful. And the actor that played our Lord was ideally suited, given his appearance. Wonderful casting all around.
