I post to several forums. A couple of them are heavily trafficked by antitrinitarians. I noticed we have no communication when I point out obvious trinity passages and proofs. So I began offering a simple test to see if they could spot the trinity in scripture.

I ran a Logos search to list all the scriptures that mention the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in one way or another. To my surprise, none of the antitrinitarians could see the Godhead in any of them. After several tries I realized the Spirit of Antichrist had blinded them entirely. So I realized trying to debate with them using scripture was a dead end.

Here's a sample of the test a Logos search provided if you want to check your skills.

One of the problems is the term "Trinity." I believe the first written usage of the word is found in the works of Ignatius of Antioch around AD 110. This is, of course, why the term isn't found in the Scriptures. The authors of the Bible didn't need a name to describe what is clearly understood from the Tanakh, the fact that there is one God and Father of us all (Mal 2:10), that he has a Son, the Messiah (Ps 2; Da 7:13-14), and that His Spirit was present from the beginning (Ge 1:2).

The word Trinity not in scripture?

The corresponding word in Greek is "Τριάς" (Trias), meaning "a set of three" or "the number three." https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

“For there are three [Τριάς] that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7 (KJV 1900)

I also have evidence the Johannine Comma was in older manuscripts yet, still waiting to be uncovered.

This clinches it for me...

John 5:23 (KJV) That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

coupled with...

Acts 5:3-4 (KJV) But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

True. You can show then 100 Scriptures, but that makes absolutely no difference. This includes the Modalists.

Trinity or Father, Son, Holy Spirit was in the beginning and will be in the end. For who denies this from plain as day scriptures isnt even worth debating. In fact much of scriptures about Jesus wouldn't make any sense if He wasn't God incarnate.

This is simple core Christian doctrine, if one was to twist or divert this, then much of core Biblical theology doesn't make any sense.

This might help also.

Trinity…..1 john 5
7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

I absolutely agree with 1 John 5:7. His understanding is exactly what appears in the Tanakh. The term "trinity" or any other word that someone may use to describe the oneness of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is just not necessary when you understand the concept from the Jewish perspective.

John 14:8-11 (TLV)
Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Yeshua said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time, and you haven't come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own; but the Father dwelling in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe because of the works themselves.

Why don't you let God be God without these limitations and quantification? God is neither one nor two nor three in quantity, He is a spirit.
One simple question for you:

Q. Is Jesus one person and one God by Himself or is He God only when He is with Father and the Holy spirit?

You all heard of the Jewish concept of agency?

Its related to when Jesus was doing things 'by the hand of the Father' and when He was talking about being 'one with the Father'

The concept is along the lines of the agent of someone being 'as if they are the person'

So it shows Jesus' deity.. equality with the Father

3. The Son is God (YHVH).
4. The Holy Spirit is God (YHVH).
5. These three are distinct, coessential, coeternal Persons. They are not sock-puppets; they are distinct Persons.
The Jewish understanding of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is all that is required.

1 John 5:6-12 (TLV)
Messiah Yeshua is the One who came by water and blood—not by water only, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. for there are three that testify—the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are one. If we accept men's testimony, God's testimony is greater—for this it is the testimony that God has given about His Son. The one who trust in Ben-Elohim has the testimony in himself; the one who does not trust in God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son. And the testimony is this—that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. The one who has the Son has life; the one who does not have Ben-Elohim does not have life.

I see it as the one being God.. manifesting Himself in three images/expressions.

There is probably problems with this view but I find it difficult using the term 'persons' because it makes me think of seperate beings. Anyway.. Jesus is God, so is the Father ..so is the Holy Spirit

Amen! There is one God in essence/nature yet distinct in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
