In my experience, the prayers I usually hear from people are a bit lengthy (I go to a Baptist church). Usually the prayer involves praying for a list of people, requests, or even world events, and praising God. I once prayed with a friend and she spoke for 30 minutes. Her prayer was more like a conversation with God (such as, she might describe her medical test results to God for five or more minutes, such as my blood count is really low, feeling weak, every day a struggle, etc.)
When I pray, I usually thank God for giving me xx in my life, or helping me in xx way, or I also pray for my family or close friends. However my prayers are rather short. Sometimes I do have a conversation with God. I also bear in mind that God knows what I want before I ask. I was told I am praying the wrong way by a missionary. Her prayer does not even ask/request God for anything, but instead she says things like "God you are amazing, you are faithful, etc." and other praises for a long time. So her prayer is basically only consists of praising God. She said I need to shift my prayer from asking God to praising God.
I realize people pray in a variety of ways, but isn't the standard The Lord's prayer? I know we should spend quite time with God (Jesus), but usually that involves reading or meditating/being in His presence, not really prayer.

5And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 6But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9So then, this is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
10Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’b
14For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.
