In bible in Genesis say that God said that it wasnt good that the man was alone so He created the woman and she was a helper suitable for the man.
And i was thinking about that, what if each woman has specific characteristics to be "the suitable help" for an specific man, so i was thinking that for example that if i like music then i could be suitable help to a man that likes music, if i like to listen then i could be suitable help to a man that likes to talk.
What do you think about that? and
How do you think will be that man depending of your characteristics (if you are a woman)?
or Wich characteristics you imagine that woman will have (if you are man)?

I like this thread!

This correlates to what I was going to post in "what characteristics put someone over the top."

But, since you have started this I will make use of this. 'From such a thing, such a thing comes.' -Nena :D

I like that about men and women. We are so good for each other. As a person who loves to travel to strange places and meet strange people I would like to be with someone who is adventurous and supportive. Someone who can be a voice of reason and sensibility. A woman who gives good council and has enough experience in life that I know I can rely on her opinion. I like curiosity and I think it makes for a good mate when the things that I find to be beautifully fascinating, can be enjoyed by someone I love too.

But that is just ME and I'm sure there are lots of people who have lots of opinions about this. :)

Have you ever read 1 Corinthians 7 (Passage: 1 Corinthians 7 (ESV Bible Online))?
What do you think about that?

This what I meant in another thread. It seems that relationships work better when the man/woman compliment one another rather than being too similar. Their strengths and weaknesses seem to balance out and it brings out the best in both of them. Though there are certain undeniable areas in which there needs to be compatibility (i.e. faith, intimacy, ethics, children, etc.).

As Liz said, one might be a good listener, the other might like to talk.
One might be a dreamer, the other a bit more practical.
One might be outgoing, the other a bit more introverted.

Those who have been married know that there are certain areas that can easily become issues. Knowing, understanding and appreciating one another's strengths and weaknesses in these areas can go a long way in not permitting small issues to become large ones.

years ago i was looking for a man that was similar to me, but now, i think that maybe is better if i find someonte to compliment one another to grow more together

Not necessarily but I was make sure you were aware of the passage, I suppose.

I'm not in it now at all, but I am praying , based on things God's had me do in my past, to long term , or maybe medium term or, so be it God's way, short term, if God so bids, plan what I feel God's got me thinking of doing. Plan for what?. I plan to go to seminary and be a pastor Or educator, get m.a. degree Or phd. I am praying for how I can best do it , and, I am not sure God's plans for it happening, but I have let Him know that I feel I can best bring glory to Him with a helper who knows how to spark my ways and hers too even more important than my ways. 'Course, God knows what is best but speaking things is good, the knock and the door shall open, verse states God likes us to let our thoughts be known to Him, and many other verses tell us this proactivity too :). More than any other thing, I want a helper who is God's choice for me and this next part might sound weird, but I want her to complete me, to best help me bring glory to God. :)

The first man had two components, viz.:
  1. Moist soil from the ground and
  2. A breath of "life-giving Spirit", a.k.a., the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, making of "a suitable companion to help him" could not apply a completely different pattern. The image of God, i.e., the Spirit, the first man and woman shared in common bonded them into one indivisible body sustained through "the tree of life" (Gen. 2: 7-25).

Christ's death on the cross has by far greater application, on a global scale, unless Christians (like the Jews) continue robbing it of its divine power and wisdom (Matt. 19: 1-12).
