Is it just me or do you also find your 'closest' times with the Lord is at night? I find during the day, it is very difficult for my heart and mind to 'draw near' to the Lord in communion. I know it shouldn't matter but it seems the way it works out...with me anyways.
Thoughts?

Anyone want to lodge a guess at why some of us 'draw close' at night, and some of you in the morning?

I am one of the night people. Maybe it is because I am single. Now that I am older, I don't feel alone at night anymore. I like to just sit in bed and talk to Him. The quieter and darker, the better. Thinking of His love and His bigness strengthens me so. I sense that He is near me and enjoys our time together as much as I do. Being alone with Him in the stillness of the night is so wonderful !:)

I talk to God all day long, including when I'm at work but I do enjoy my quiet time. Like @oyster67 I enjoy my solitude with God when I go to bed at night. Yes, in the stillness of the night is the best of times. Very much quality time.

Well for me I THINK believe it should be mornings. Yet.. there's this point where I am awake yet sleeping. And to hear/see from Him its so clear.

So i think it can be any times we let go of this world. Hes not some light switch that we turn off or on. Hes always on. Always with us.. always morn night noon. Our angel..always there to do HIS commands. Just toss off to HIM the cares of this world. I LOVE this story of this man of God before my time and I am 58. They went for a walk and the man side in the middle of the walk.. can we stop? I just want to pray. Raise his hands and praising the lord and started crying. I believe there are those that walk like this every moment but... are very far and few and in between.

Well ..they will NEVER talk about them selves. You would never know it.. unless you were right with them. Never about them. I BELIEVE always have.. you can never get close enough to our GOD.. our FATHER! it will never end.. oh.. man I LOVE THIS.. thanks for asking about this.

Christ says that the Father never leaves Him alone, and he plainly tells why.
For I always do that which pleases Him.

I like to share with you all what I have come to learn about the Lord. It may sound off the wall but please here me out.
Jesus gave himself many titles to relate to us .,...friend, brother, helper, counselor, ECT.
Sadly some of us only reference him as Lord. Therefore they fellowship with him only as Lord.
What I have discovered is that if you truly believe he lives and is right by your side always then treat him as such.
My routine is greeting the Lord in the morning giving him the day to do as he wills, favorite praise songs playing I discuss what plans I have, concerns I have, but ask if he has plans for me. I take him to work with me and find myself having conversations with him on many levels. In short it's just like going about the day with your best friend right with you. You laugh, joke, what ever.
IMO fellowship comes in many ways. Treating the Lord as if he were there in the flesh is exactly what he wants.
Abraham was called the friend of God. Do you think that all of the dialogue that transpired between God and him was in prayer or was it a friendship that kindled out of fellowship?

Maybe men of times past stayed up at night and women woke full of sun shine.

Proverbs 21:9,19
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house

For me it is more about where I am, rather than when, if that makes sense. As a teen we were told to find something, that when we see it, we think of God. We were told to stop what we were doing and say "I'm here Lord". It took your from thinking about him to being present with him. For me I picked clouds. I can be wrapped up in my day but when I go outside and see the clouds it almost always takes me into his presence.

The Bible teach us that God wants our first fruits so it just might be that early in morning should be God's time :) but each to his own

Anyone want to lodge a guess at why some of us 'draw close' at night, and some of you in the morning?
Less "world" background noise?
The concerns of the day behind us at night?
Or in the morning- not right in our faces yet?
