The link is to another forum website, is to show interesting discussion about Yeshua's/Jesus's command to sell all your possessions and give to the poor. To be a True Disciple you must obey this command.
Jesus spake this word to a vain, unbelieving & covetous man without understanding, who asked for a way to 'earn' life by the work of his hands, to have as a possession.

it is not a command to those who believe Him.
if we believe Him, we know nothing on earth is our possession but His.

i don't need to follow your links to another site to read another discussion in order to know its a thread full of misinterpretation and error; you've told me enough in your synopsis. thanks

Matthew 19:21 King James Version (KJV)

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

@dcontroversal, We suspect you are a Satanist pretending to be a follower of Messiah/Christ. You must sell all your possessions and give to the poor to be True Disciple of Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ.
"We" ...the cult of gaviriachristian?

The only "satanists" on this thread is the making the statement above who denies Christ.

One is not saved by "joining" you need to get deprogrammed and get saved by trusting Jesus as Saviour

yes --
let me stumble through trying to clarify :)

the gospel is very simple to state, 'believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved!'
but the implications of this simple statement are beyond us to understand; this is amazing

but the false gospel of works is very complex to state - line after line and precept after precept, list after list of 'do not!' and 'do!'
while it is very simple in implication: earn your way; make yourself equal to God so He has no basis to judge you.
...Agree completely!!
Thank you !

i thought it was you who thinks being sealed upon receiving His word isn't an effectual salvation?
i mean, aren't you saying that doesn't count for anything; that a persistence in good works following after, if indeed it follows, is what counts?

but he is saying that something does happen: that upon placing his trust in God, he is enveloped in the aegis of his Strong Defender, such that no weapon will prosper against him.

that's a very marvelous thing: simple to state, but extraordinarily complex in its implication & manifestation.
No such thing as" believe and recieve." There's a process that needs to unfold.

I'm saying that a Continually surrendered life takes work and effort, courage and endurance. And a Continually surrendered life"is" saving Faith applied.

Any good works that follow are the result of that surrendered life. God's nature flowing through the sealed vessel.

Nope!

That word believe is not in the Greek. Let me insert the correct definition of pisteuo.

Personally surrender your life to God and live a life inspired by such surrender and you shall be saved .

Not my words, the Greek dictionarys.

to "surrender" is to cease from striving, and allow the one you surrender to, to continue unimpeded.

Sounds like you're doing an awful lot of work to be/stay saved.

I sure hope none of that is what is looked at come judgement.

You will fall short. Way short.

Though if the righteousness of Christ is imputed to you, you will be alright.

This is imputed to all of Gods born again children.

Maybe one day soon you will let go of the "faithing" of a man and hold on to Christ and place your faith IN Him.

Cease from striving completely? No. God's Spirit when sealed in us as the result of Faith " surrender" will never. Allow that.

Nobody surrenders in a moment, one time, finished product. It's a process of Christ perfecting the called who are allowing Him to by a continuous surrender.

But I like your post. The hard part is to surrender without any expectations of something in return. If we are expecting something in return for our surrendered life, that would be more of a business deal or vending machine kind of process.

Leviticus 23:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

You must do the Feast Days exactly and painstakingly as demanded by Elohim/God.
There is no need for me and the people of God to do that anymore.
We have been brought near to God through the new way of faith in Christ.
The old way didn't work anyway.

That makes absolutely no sense!

NT Faith applied is the Greek word pisteuo. Pisteuo is a Continually surrendered life. When that is fulfilled, that is placing Faith in Christ.

Unlike "believing" in His word and keeping my life so I can still serve self. Sound familiar?

Amen! John 1:12 is attached with "a personal surrender to Him" in Vine's definition. John 1:12 - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. There is the personal surrender to Him. Yet works-salvationists erroneously take this "personal surrender to Him" to the next level of works salvation. :cautious:

The FRUIT of salvation would be living by or "out of" faith, as we see 2 Corinthians 5:7 attached with "a conduct inspired by such surrender" in Vine's definition, which reads - For we walk/live by faith and not by sight. This is our continued walk with the Lord by which by or "out of" faith believers bear fruit/produce works. So faith in Christ is the ROOT of salvation and "a conduct inspired by surrender" which FOLLOWS and produces good works would be the FRUIT.

I have a Strong's expanded exhaustive concordance of the Bible and Pisteuo #4100 says - to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), to entrust (especially one's spiritual well being to Christ). It goes on to say, pisteuo means not just to believe, but also to be persuaded of; and hence, to place confidence in, to trust, and signifies, in this sense of the word, reliance upon.

*Nothing there about a life inspired by such surrender which follows saving faith in Christ/fruit of faith/good works being mixed in with the definition of Pisteuo.* In the saving sense of Pisteuo, I agree with Strong's. Saving faith is belief, trust, reliance in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. (y)

If we were truly brothers " in Christ," the weaponry Im addressing would be our common bond, our joy to share with each other. If I were to use that to persuade you, it would destroy your current understanding. Force you to choose another path. That's where I must draw the line.

You've made it clear your current path is where you want to stay for now, so be it

I'll see you on the other side!
What don’t you understand about my proclamation of Jesus Christ, and who He is to me and everyone who places their eternal fate in His hands?

Interesting, either you didn't read the entire definition, or are deliberately trying to sidetrack true Faith applied.

Here is the completed definition word for word.

"Pisteuo is a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. Producing a full acknowledgement of Gods revelation of truth."

"this all stands in contrast to belief in it's purely natural exercise, which consists of an opinion held in good faith without necessary reference to it's proof. The object of Abrams Faith was not God's promise ( that was the occasion of it's exercise) his Faith rested on God Himself"

This proves everything that I've been trying to show you !
