She should be upset at her own LGBTQTS community for laying a foundation of intolerance and terrorism in pursuit of pushing their agenda upon society and religious, Christian religious almost exclusively, people who did not, and do not, agree with the LGBTQTS agenda.
The medical industry is not getting paid to practice what fifty years ago would have been construed as malpractice when they mutilate the physical form of a male of female at their request.
The counseling this woman received at the time and as a teenager was necessary as a matter of medical ethics. However, the medical industry knows what they'll suffer if they make too much of an effort to talk someone out of the mutilation that is trans irreversible surgery.
The APA was harassed to the point they altered future DSM manuals concerning Transgender and Homosexuality, so as to say those aren't mental illness nor are they abnormal or unnatural.
Given that, the woman in the article is brave to come out and admit this for herself and to warn others. However, it is guaranteed she's going to suffer enormous blow back from the LGBTQTS community. Without a doubt.
They demand to be tolerated. That proclamation however doesn't work the other way. Certain members of the LGBTQTS community prove they are intolerant, Christophobic, and heterophobic. They're in short, bigots. And dangerous. If you want to be tolerated and think we should all live in peace accepting one another, you don't make death threats against florists, bakers, or others because their belief system or personal choice for what they'll tolerate doesn't conform to the way of thinking the LGBTQTS demand.
