Not implying anything here. Just saying....

The good book tells us about his birth. And then it jumps to an incident when he is 12 years old. Then it jumps all the way into his adulthood when he is about 30. What happened between all that?

Again, I'm not saying this necessarily should raise alarms or cause suspicion. I just find it a curious matter.

Anyone else ever wonder about this? Or is it just me? Cause to be honest, I probably do tend to wonder about certain things most people likely don't even care about. :p

with Holy Spirit now indwelling the believer we can be led in "all truth" just as Jesus said, but we need to keep our minds "stayed on Him" as He instructed.

That's often how the Bible is written. There isn't usually exhaustive detail about matters unless they're it's necessary. Take the first verse of the Bible, for example: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. " so while the writer could go into detail about how planets form by the coalescence of rocks and other material, it becomes more of a side note rather than an expository dissertation on planet formation. There is tons of examples like this. The reason for this, I believe, is that some material isn't within the scope of what the intended purpose of the Bible. Jesus was described as a carpenter and a teacher in the temples. His day-to-day grind probably consisted of those kind of things, I would speculate. In any case, very few characters have a full biography about their life in the Bible. Fortunately we got the important bits needed for salvation which, of course, comes solely through faith in Christ.

I would say there isn’t much writing as He lived a normal life up until His ministry

The Book of Matthew shares about the infancy of Christ and mostly in chapters 1 and 2.
You can seek out in any search engine, the infancy gospels of Christ, and find quite a number of resources to choose from. They are considered the Pseudepigrapha works. However, we know Jesus had a childhood, and both Mary and Joseph were there. Why then are those details omitted in the canon?

The gospels are not biographies of Jesus. They are written to show how he fulfilled the what was written in the OT about him his mission and teaching revealed there as types prophecies and shadows. He is portrayed as the embodiment of Israel. This subject
is too complex to explain fully here. I would suggest that its vital not to neglect the OT. It was after all the early Christian Bible
that the Holy Spirit used to teach the Church before the NT was even compiled.

Things that where not pertaining to His mission on earth.. Unnecessary information.. Not needed information for the Gospel..

If you have a car manuel in your car do you want to read through 50 pages about the guy who published it? What he did at the club or his golf score or what his favourite pizza is? Nope.. You want to get the pertanant information to do with your car and how to maintain it..

One point that may help as well is to recall the baptism, Jesus had done nothing in ministry whatsoever and yet G-d declared "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased". Just the way He lived His life up to that point pleased the Father.

Go and look at the Messianic Psalms (those ascribed to David), and the Visions of Isaiah and there you'll find quite a bit of prophetic truth about His 30 years at Nazareth.

No.

When God does not mention something in scripture that I am wondering about, I stop wondering about it.

And I get back to meditating on what God has revealed.

well not sure anyones teen years are that interesting, even if it was Jesus.
I mean for myself I would be way too embarassed if anyone read any diary I kept back then. And millenials memoirs can be excrutiating to read once past a certain age and they start worrying about who likes who, even in their twenties.

Think about how your christian life started when you were baptised in the holy spirit. Everything before that was just nothing compared to the power you have now. Look at Peters blunders all recorded in the Bible before he received the holy spirit...how about Paul? Before he knew the Lord, he was a terror.

Its enougn for me to know Jesus grew wise and was showd great understandng going about his Fathers business. I dont think the Bible is missing anything of significance or theres a cover up!

But sometimes I wonder about his brothers and sisters, the ones Mary and Joseph had. Aside from James we dont know very much about how they grew up together, and how his family functioned. I suppose it was like any devout Jewish family, back then other people wouldnt have remarked on it because it was family??

He gave us everything we need, remember how we are NOT to lean on our own understanding, but acknowledge Him in EVERYTHING that HE may make our path straight.
Wondering how He lived in the years not describes indicates to me you may be a very young Christian not walking in the Spirit completely.

Sounds like you enjoy eating overcomer's hidden manna samwhiches

The good book tells us about his birth.
After hearing all the things people had said it was kinda has a surprise to read in Matthew 1:1, "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." Kinda makes one wonder why it doesn't say "The generation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God."

But darn me if the beginning of the next Gospel doesn't start with "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;". But in the Lamb's book, it isn't written until the Gospel of Luke that the Angel told Mary is told the holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

And then it jumps to an incident when he is 12 years old.
Some might find it hard to believe that a mother could go a day without checking on their child, but I guess if your child is God then it probably isn't necessary.

After all it is written that while at the temple that "..all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers." Of course later in the gospel of Jesus would later tell the Jews that marveled at the doctrine he taught that it was the doctrine of him who sent him.

However, what did you make of Luke 2:48, "And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing."

The way we twist the scriptures of the Bible that God has provided us makes me wonder why He included so much in them.

There are very few stories about peoples childhoods in the OT. This is why very little is said about Christ's. Everything in the gospels
about him has some link to OT types and shadows. The Nativity stories stem from some of the experiences of Moses with Pharaoh and those of Jacobs journey to Bethel (Bethlehem) with Rachael. The story of Jesus in the Temple is linked with that of the young Samuel who is taken by his Mother to Eli the Priest at Shiloh to serve the lord.

I find myself wondering more about Adam and Eves complete lack of parenting skills when Cain murdered Abel. We know Cain was exiled and Seth was born after, but I just wonder about those boys growing up years before that.

I wonder what it must of been like for Mary to raise Jesus as a child who never did wrong :) , I mean as a mother myself , this is a dream :giggle:...
Also , how Jesus` brothers & sisters felt towards Him , never getting told off while they were sent to time out...
Obviously Mary still had to deal with the difficult years of teens etc , I wonder how she dealt with jealousy towards Him , maybe thinking He was mothers pet , nothing wrong in wondering...

One thing that strikes me as odd is that Mary and his brothers go off to bring him home during his ministry because they think he is mad. It appears that Mary has completely forgotten the details surrounding his birth. Most mothers can recall the circumstances of
an ordinary birth. When did this amnesia set in?

We are told that his brothers didn't believe in him. This suggests to me that Jesus had a perfectly normal life in Nazareth up until the start of his ministry and they thought their brother had suddenly gone crazy
