Our church today has lost much of it's power for good in our world because it is almost universally taught that we can't be perfect so why try. This is an important message in that it is necessary that we know it is only threw what Christ did for us that we reach perfection, but when that thought is taken to it's extreme it becomes "don't try".
Paul explains what Christ asks of us when we give ourselves to His keeping and let Christ in us make us righteous. It is in Romans 7:
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Paul admits that in the flesh he is not sin free, as we all are not, but as Christ asks of us, Paul gives his will to being sin free. Most of these posts, and today's church is not teaching that.

You are right. Telling believers repeatedly that they will never stop sinning is not conducive to producing folks who will even resist unto blood striving against sin (HEBREWS 12:4).

Paul giving his will still never stops the flesh and sin though.... it's like saying you will be sin free once you give your will over to god and be made perfect. Most is also subjective..... if you can discern biblical teachers from non biblical ones you'll see majority teach you will never be sin free and will always fail and fall short, but that doesn't give you a free pass on sin, and obviously they teach how to fight and stop the sin through repentance.
But eventually yeah the mainstream church will stop teaching these things, but that will be the least of our worries, they'll stop teaching Jesus at all, like the the current pope is doing.
Naturally being born again the holy spirit will convict you of sin, and make you repent of it, and stopping it.

I am doing an interesting study of the gospel of Matthew that, for example, explores the OT prophecies of each happening.
It is now exploring John the Baptist and his message to repent and gives the Hebrew word for repent which is teshuvah and means to not only turn from sin but also to return to God. It would be impossible to accept all God's ways and with our will, accept sin.
Even NT from the Greek was written by men who knew scripture in Hebrew and thought of God in that language, so they put down the thoughts given them by the Lord through their Hebrew training.
Because of the weakness of the flesh the person delights In the law of GOD after the Inward man but there Is another law warring against the law of the mind bringing them Into captivity to sin which Is IN their flesh.

That is why he tells us in Galatians (5:24) that they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (because in us, in the flesh, dwelleth no good thing).
“But ye are NOT in the flesh, but in the Spirit [born again], if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you“ [if you’re really saved]. ROMANS 8:9.
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you”. ROMANS 8:11
In other words, if you’re in the flesh, his Spirit is not in you and you cannot be saved. This is why Jesus said except a man be born again, he cannot enter/see the kingdom of God (JOHN 3:3,5).

Right on, Mica. It all boils down to that we are to let the spirit of the Lord within us enter our minds and will to only live by heading for being without sin. We are not to let the flesh take over our will nor give in to such thoughts as telling ourselves not to try because we are made of flesh.

A person that has been born again Can do fleshly things and still be In CHRIST they just wont be rewarded for any fleshly things.
JESUS IS the VINE and we are the branches receiving sustenance From the VINE and displaying SPIRITUAL FRUIT.
It seems to me it is a balancing act. We have the security of forgiveness of any sin through Christ, but we are not to so rely on this security so much we just let ourselves satisfy any fleshly desire. Instead we will our desires to living God's way.
