True, but I do not see how that is a response to what I wrote. John told the crowds that the One Who came after Him would 'baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire.' Jesus referred to that when speaking to the twelve disciples. But that does not mean the words were limited in applying only to the 12 as David-L seems to be arguing. John spoke the words to a larger crowd, and Peter applied the statement of John to the Gentiles in Cornelius' house also.
Please answer if you feel it is okay to discuss the work of the Holy Spirit, apart from the Gospel? There are babies who are trying to understand and any believer in Christ was called to be a witness of Christ, preaching the Good News...pointing all to CHRIST

Sorry, another poster, OldthenNew said Johnś baptism as if these disciples in Acts 19 of a man (that man being Apollos) is okay. Its not. John and Apollos can not baptize anyone into themselves....nor did they die for anyone...and no one would want to be baptized into John, Apollos, Paul, Peter

I do not think we are forbidden from discussing any aspect of the word of God with fellow believers. I do not believe we have to discuss all aspects of it at one time. If two people discuss Noah's flood for 20 minutes without mentioning the cross, I see no reason to accuse. But it is good to be reminded of the gospel.

If we had the full measure of the Holy Spirit the moment we are saved then WHY did the apostles have to lay their hands on BELIEVERS to receive the Holy Spirit?
The logical extension of what you are espousing is that if one never experiences a great filling of the Holy Spirit they are not saved. This is heresy and not sound doctrine. A baptism of the Holy Spirit in addition to the salvation of the soul is not biblical. A filling of the Holy Spirit as part of our sanctification is biblical.[/QUOTE]
NEVER have I said that a person is NOT saved if they are not filled with the Holy Spirit. You are accusing me of heresy, yet it is YOU that are creating the lies that I did NOT say. You are behaving as a Pharisee - they also did resist the Truth because of who their father was.

I didn´t say they were in Christ. I said that this type of ministry, which is on line, and therefore many look and are trying to understand, has to account for and be sensitive to babies (unbelievers as well as believers who have not grown up into CHRIST)...that is what I am conscious of and that is why I am a bit uncomfortable about this discussion...
We are all talking at each other and it has to be made clear that it is FAITH in CHRIST, in the GOSPEl, which puts us in a right relationship with GOD in order to and prior to the Holy Spirit sealing us and working in us to glorify THE GIFT of GOD, which again, is CHRIST JESUS...the one and only GIFT of GOD...

Where does the Bible teach that the believer has the full measure of the Spirit when he is saved?
Paul commanded the Ephesian believers to be filled with the Spirit. Why would he write that if it were not possible for them not to be filled with the Spirit?
Why would the apostles require that candidates for the seven be full of the Holy Ghost if all Christians were completely full of the Holy Ghost? Why point out the Stephen was full of faith and of the Holy Ghost if all Christians were equally full of the Holy Ghost?
