My mother was a nurse, never once mentioned a doctor that was a pervert. But she tells of a lot of males that were perverts. So let's not tar all people because you know three whole doctors you deem "perverts".
Good afternoon! :)

You both brought the same point “some men can be perverts” and that’s what God is trying to protect you from (“if you can avoid it”).

Points to reflect (but again everyone has free will but there are wise “choices” and not so wise)

- Men think different then women (just look at the sad industry that exists a click away)
- Numbers 5:18 shows just how important Women’s “hair” is and how it’s supposed to embarrass a women when exposed!!! (It shows how far our generation is)
- If a woman goes to a woman doctor (“if possible” and you put in your effort) then what are the odds of perversion? 0%! And if not? There is a probability! So which is wiser?
- It doesn’t take much a male single doctor and a frustrated wife to “accidentally have an affair” in any scenario (how else do you think affairs happen btw??? Can’t happen if men and women are not secluded!)
- If you don’t trust God’s word or the wisdom, then tell me why Billy Graham was praised by the world and set an example when he said “I will never be alone in a room with another woman”? Billy Graham admitted “he is human and so are women and I don’t even want a suspected thought to enter anyone’s mind”! The Presidents took advice from this man!

I pray if you are humble and wise, you will simply reflect on this deeply and see how beneficial it is to avoid seclusion with the opposite sex (aside from your spouse) and how much God loves the marital union to be pure. It takes work!

I hope no one will take a “soundbite” out of this complex point and turn it upside down.

Thank you! :)

Hi there. Awesome question. Let's get to it.

Anywhere from Adam and Eve "realizing" their nakedness, Rebecca covering here face from approaching Issac, to Paul strongly emphasizing women to be modest and Jesus telling us not even to "lust" (think about another person in that manner), it is very simply for a wise man to see that even seeing the same sex naked is an issue, how much more than to see the opposite sex if she is not your wife (or kids for parenting purposes).

But this is a great question. Short answer is, that if you have faith and you choose to keep your purity and more selflessly, the purity of others, you will find a doctor of the same sex. You will pray and act in such a manner to honour God. Now, you did all you can and your health/life is at risk? Then of course your life matters more and therefore you can absolutely see a male doctor. Again, everything comes down to intention. If your intent is to treat it lightly and just pick the first doctor, God will record how you treated yourself and the other person. Professional or not, we all are human, we are all 'tempted' and we as Christians do not "place stumbling blocks" in front of others.

Based on this, this question could follow. Should a Christian take a job where he will encounter the opposite sex? This takes even more faith. In short, we need work for money to survive and Paul sets the best example as he made enough to make ends meet and help his congregations. Therefore, do I need a "high end job" where I risk seeing the opposite sex and disappointing my wife/husband?

ok

now we know

all men are perverts...therefore I must have married one. I will slap him silly tonight and tell him to sleep alone

women are silly gullible little creatures that need an alpha male to prowl about growling at other men

all male doctors should never be allowed to even look at women because they are all dribbling and hormone driven rapists with only one desire

we have also learned

that certain men enjoy discussing the perversion of other men while pretending they do not get a kick out of it

oh yes

we are all so much wiser now

I'm honestly not trying to be rude here. So bear with me....

- Men think different then women
Some men do. But if you look at the profession of doctors and see the percentage of "perverts" compared to great doctors it's incredibly small. Doctors do not see the body as sexual, they see it as anatomy.Doctors that make those kind of moves had that issue before they became doctors. As I said, we have pastors that make moves on women.

- If a woman goes to a woman doctor (“if possible” and you put in your effort) then what are the odds of perversion? 0%
You do realize there are gay and lesbian doctors...

And if not? There is a probability!
A very small probability, you're more likely to have someone make a move on you on a subway.

It doesn’t take much a male single doctor and a frustrated wife to “accidentally have an affair” in any scenario (how else do you think affairs happen btw??? Can’t happen if men and women are not secluded!)
Now we're getting into pure fantasy. No one accidentally has an affair, it's a choice. You're either faithful to your spouse and your vows or you aren't. You don't do that by mistake.

If you don’t trust God’s word or the wisdom, then tell me why Billy Graham was praised by the world and set an example when he said “I will never be alone in a room with another woman”?
Trust me on this, he wasn't talking about doctors or nurses.

An excerpt from the Hippocratic oath, the professional code for physicians...

”...I will use treatment to help the sick according to my ability and judgment, but never with a view to injury and wrong-doing. Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. Similarly I will not give to a woman a pessary to cause abortion. But I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art. I will not use the knife, not even, verily, on sufferers from stone, but I will give place to such as are craftsmen therein.

Into whatsoever houses I enter, I will enter to help the sick, and I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm, especially from abusing the bodies of man or woman, bond or free. And whatsoever I shall see or hear in the course of my profession, as well as outside my profession in my intercourse with men, if it be what should not be published abroad, I will never divulge, holding such things to be holy secrets.”

Are there doctors who violate their code of professional ethics? Sure, just as there are other professionals who do. It’s a minority. A small minority. I have to do these exams on occasion in my field. I assure you there is absolutely nothing remotely unprofessional going on.

Majority of the gynae in Malaysia are male. If you are gender biased, then you would have very little choice.
Right, same goes for a lot of small towns in America. Nothing in the Bible against male docs seeing female patients. Nonsense.

It is important to be stop being paranoid about male doctors seeing female body parts. If a male doctor sees your wife's body part, does it mean she is "spoiled"? This does not bode well for guys have actually done more than just look, as in the case of abuse, does it mean that the woman is "spoiled"? I totally understand if a woman is uncomfortable with having a male doctor (I am). However, if I had a male doctor, I would not want my husband to think that I am spoiled for having a male doctor. On a more extreme level, this is why some men want their wives to wear burkas. If a male looks at her arm or hair, she is spoiled.

I am a single female so I can not speak for married men..

My opinion though,

Unless the doctor was a sick and twisted perv, I'd think it silly. Doctors are not providing anything enjoyable. It is NOT even close to intimate, sexual or enjoyable. With that said, I prefer a female gynecologist just because I am more comfy, not because I don't trust male gynecologist.

For those of you who dislike male doctors for female patients, please tell me how those women would have gone to 100 years ago?

Their brains have been spoiled

Some people have really sick ideas about these exams. I have never heard of anyone who looks forward to pelvic exam. Also general immaturity and insecurity abounds. Weak ego is projected onto the imaginary future wife to lord over and gnaw like a bone.

I personally prefer a female gyn because exam is relatively invasive. That being said at this point of life I don't care that much about gyn gender as I did when I was younger. Husband dislikes the idea of me going to male gyn but it's not like it would be a hill to die on, he doesn't have paranoia about male doctors he is more concerned about my own comfort and having a less unpleasant exam.

I think men have better perception that women are delicate so they guard themselves from being too rough, and that male doctors are usually kinder and gentler (as my all friends say). Meanwhile many women get into "bro" mode and rough things up because we are same gender. We only mentioned this once many years ago, it's a preference not Sharia law, and never did he rack his brain about previous or future exams or what if there's no female doctor available some day, of course that common sense dictates that best health care takes precedence... If he treated me like some participants here see women like some second grade creature that should take shoes off and bow to them 5 times a day, first we wouldn't be married to begin with, second there's no controlling in our house and he is the one who wanted it established watching how most people live, so there's no domestic tragedy in the house. No controlling, manipulating, nagging, forcing and so on, by either side.

As for all those who want to go back to Adam and Eve, a little memo it's always good to remember.
What "helpmate" is not: second fiddle to the boss, second grade citizen.
What "helpmate" is: person on the same team.
