do you know what 'in the Spirit' means?
It definitely does not mean being tasered by charlatans, dancing around like dervishes, or laughing like hyenas. You won't find such madness recorded in the New Testament. Indeed, Paul told the Corinthians that if they were all speaking in tongues at the same time, a visitor would think they were mad.

Which means that that is the experience of Christ's enemies in the Bible, not His friends, or His disciples. Had God planned to rescue Christ those men would have been dead right there.
that is your conclusion

the Bible never states if a person falls this way or that way or possibly wobbles, you can tell if they are a Christian or not

you know, if I had fallen forward that time alone, I would have smashed my face on my bureau

I think God knew that

and you should too. people can be overcome by the presence of God

it also does not mean pulling up red herrings because you do not have a clue what the answer to the question is

the worst I have ever done is say the name of Jesus pretty loud

so bad :cautious:

you would not have a clue how to behave since you have never participated

that, IS the point!

do you know what 'in the Spirit' means?

hint: doesn't mean reading 5 Bible chapters a day
I would be interested in your understanding of the term. It is used at least two times in the bible. Rev 1 and Acts 4 are the two I am familiar with.

Participation in Charismatic meetings could be dangerous to your mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. Not to mention all the false doctrines which are also promoted. Christ expects Christians to simply worship in Spirit and in truth. So if truth is absent, one cannot expect the Spirit to be present.

Let's take the case of Benny Hinn, an icon of the Charismatic Movement.

Benny Hinn’s Nephew Discusses the Excesses and Errors of His Uncle’s Ministry

...While in college, Costi reveals the lavish lifestyle his uncle kept while traveling the world to preach his prosperity gospel...

...He recalls that his uncle would promise that everyone would be healed at each gathering, but confesses that was never the case...

...He remembers his uncle’s unfulfilled prophecies as well...

...“[Costi said] One of the cruelest lies of faith healers today is that if you just have enough faith, God will heal. He [Costi] begins to commentate that God is sovereign in healing,” he says...

let me break it to you gently since you have not been paying attention

Benny Hinn did not fill me with the Holy Spirit

I have never nor would I go to see Benny Hinn

I have actually warned people about him myself...even on this forum

we all agreed many moons ago, that Mr Hinn is not an example of biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit

you are really coming up with some goofy things here

That is characteristically confrontational. Accuse me of not agreeing with the bible? Really you may have an unorthodox understanding of the two passages but the scripture is fairly clear on how the phrase in the Spirit is used.

Yes, declaring the will of our Father it is all one in the same ! Its his prophecy he puts on our tongues. We can say the words as planting the spiritual seed of new born again spirit life. But he does the work of breathing into us strengthening us . Just as he did with Jesus. Jesus did not murmur like some. He knew it was the father working in him to both will and do the good pleasure of God.
So... are those who speak "the new tongue, the gospel" falling backwards or engaging in self-edification?

such a tell
His entire position is self-defeating. I'm just wondering if he'll see it, and if he does, if he'll admit it.

Not a fan of Benny Hinn or any other big time TV preachers, I am a fan of the Bible teaching the continuing gifts till Jesus returns and we see face to face with Him.

All the fakers wont change that.

But with that being said would you rather have a charismatic christian or an unbeliever in your hands? Do you got any idea how MANY people have been saved through Pentecostals evangelizing in a Usain Bolt type of speed?
Say what you want, but I would rather a person sits in a Pentecostal church and gets to know Jesus and accepts Him as His Lord and Savior and strives to live a holy life than an unbeliever. So for that reason even with all the false doctrine, I would rather see someone attend a worldly (my opinion) Hillsong meeting than a worldly secular rock concert.

you must have been laughing when you wrote the above because you major in telling other people they do not agree with the Bible

you can do better than that

or maybe not

I don't read his posts

in some posts he disagrees with himself...as you point out...and in others, there are no road signs

Well if your view is not orthodox then I can understand your reluctance to explain it.

Plenty of those around . Are you receiving visions, dreams or out of the body experiences? How can you see into the hearts of others?

You can see everything by how someone posts. A person is exactly what they think and in turn writes down for others to read.

I have watched this video before. And though I do not believe that everything on this video is similar to kundalini, I do however believe that nothing on this video is of nor represents Yahweh.

I do have a question for those who believe all Charismatic ways are not representing our God.

Whether you are Wesleyan, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Catholic, or the 20 thousand other Denominations, have you ever witnessed a person run in your Church?

Not fall down, not speak in Tongues, not raise their hands, not get super excited, but just what appeared for no reason just get out of their pew and run the aisles?

I showed you Matthew 24 where God Himself declared these things would be happening by both false and good prophets. That however leads to YOU knowing who the difference is. But it has nothing to do with the fact that signs and wonders and speaking in tongues will be active.

They are active mocking God shown by those who make a noise and fall backward. Are you looking at foundation of tongue in Isiah 28 ?.

Once you establish the foundation .Then its easy to see who mocks who with stammering lips. The the law pertaining to it in 1 Corinthians 14 becomes clear. That God is bringing new prophecy as tongues in all the languages of the world. But those who would rather obey the traditions of men keep on mocking God with the same oral tradition of mankind. Make a sound without meaning and fall backward. They know why they are falling backward "slain in the Spirit" they just do it proudly as a self edifying tool .I did it. . and then marvel as a wonderment... Whats the purpose certainly not edifying God.?

It not that it has ceased it never started.

Jesus said there will be BOTH good and false prophets who perform miracles, signs, wonders. But in your opinion, are there "no" good prophets doing this, only "false prophets?"
