there are people far more qualified to research than you or Blik

Easter is not about eggs and chickens. it is about Jesus rising from the dead

be persuaded however you wish

it seems everything is pagan to some people while those with a clear conscience before God still celebrate Jesus at Easter and remember Him Good Friday

and Christimas, celebrating His birth

like Paul said, don't let people condemn you, but it seems some people, like yourself, get all caught up in things that are not really the trouble

Paul even said it was ok to eat meat sacrificed to idols...does your conscience condemn you Blain?

4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. I Corinthians 8

I do not offend others in what I do and am totally aware some have a weaker conscience...such as perhaps yourself
You have taken the ties to the fertility goddess out of Easter, I wish you could tell God to change the word Passover to Easter, also. God looks at our hearts and most people don't know where the word Easter came from, many have a heart of gold at Easter.

When Easter was presented to the world as law by Constantine he said it was because Jews celebrated Passover and the Jews were evil, so they had to change it. Also, he didn't want the celebration of Christ based on the sun and moon.

For me personally, I like the idea of following the Lord and not man. So much of church doctrine was to make doctrine separate from Jewish practices, and I feel safer following the Lord only, not as a rebel but just following Him.

Firstly you don't know me well enough to decide how much I qualify to research things I am not consciously weak either. Easter is supposed to be about the ressurection of Jesus but the world has made it about a glorified bunny who hides eggs to find. I celebrate things like Christmas and easter for the reasons it is supposed to be just because it may have pagan origins doesn't mean we have to accept it as such. The enemy loves to corrupt everything holy and when easter comes around everywhere you look there is the easter bunny cholcaolate eggs ect.

I only researched it's origins because of interest as I love to go into deep studies about topics that peek my interest it has nothing to do with anything else. You act as if if I am saying his resurrection isn't what it's about at all but as I have said that is what it is supposed to be about but the world has made it otherwise, I don't disagree with you I was only making a point

the whole New Testament
You are reading in the whole new testament of scripture that it is telling us not to celebrate that Christ saves? I don't think so.

Now, instead of making blank statements that I am wrong without giving scripture reasons you are going back to attacking me as a person! Don't you read scripture?
This is a perfect example; you have twisted what I said into a "personal attack". It is a criticism of your actions. If it were a personal attack, it would be phrased as, "You are ..." this or that.

As for "scripture reasons" how about, "Thou shalt not bear false witness"! Don't assert that someone has stated something that they have not stated! Don't paraphrase the words of others, because you consistently get them very wrong. Just quote them directly, and stop using the phrase, "So you're saying...".

LOL!...I know you are not an expert in history and I know you pretty well...the kind of comments you make. even though you have not been here in a while, I certainly remember your beliefs, so maybe take a seat

YOU decided to tell me what I was doing this Easter...YOU decided to tell me how pagan that was and YOU decided to tell me that I should listen to your expertise on this matter because YOU have studied all about it

the world is in darkness. I am not a part of the world and you have no business telling me I am celebrating a pagan anything

frankly, YOU are allowing the 'enemy' to speak falsely about Christians who love Jesus and associate Easter with Him

so maybe just back off of people YOU apparently do not know well enough as to what they do or do not believe and then you cry foul when they call you on it

your 'research' means nothing to me since I have heard from and studied under actual experts who do know what they are talking about

I won't be back until next week, so you can get as huffed up about it as you want

LOL!

you practice some sort of alchemy wherein what people actually say becomes something utterly silly when you try to come back with a snappy answer

this is what I said in post 50

nope

Easter is about celebrating the resurrection of Jesus

you don't have a proper understanding yet you wish to tell others all about it

I and many others do actually know what Easter for Christians is about. you are stuck in the OT and pretend to be something you are not

it is sad the way you try to manipulate a conversation and very futile

I don't recall telling you what you were doing this easter and I never once said you had to listen to me I stated it's pagan origins yes but I also said I agree with you about how we should celebrate it. And if you knew me as well as you say then you would know I don't get huffed up about debates like that as I say all the time on here if we cannot debate in calm mature and Christlike manner then we shouldn't be debating at all. I apologize that I angered you but I think you completely misunderstood my intentions

give it a rest

I am not at all interested in your interpretations

see what you do? you apologize for angering me, but I never said I was angry...that is another thing you and blik have in common...you try to say other people are saying or feeling what you are actually feeling

I am not angry at all. oh I am pretty sure I understand your intentions but you do not understand that I do not see you or accept you as someone that has authority in some way as to tell everyone they are doing it wrong

kindly find someone who is in awe of your great instruction because I am not

you have manipulated this into personal confrontation and I really dislike that tactic

again, if your conscience bothers you, do NOT celebrate Easter but Paul said we should not be in mind of the feasts and holidays and we should not let anyone judge us

that includes ALL who try to manipulate and use words like pagan etc, while they themselves pretend to be Jewish

I think using the ignore button might be best

whatever your conscience dictates to you and vice versa

Paul said do not let anyone judge you with regards to exactly the things you wish to foist on others

Alive in Christ
…15And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. 16Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a festival, a New Moon, or a Sabbath. 17These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ.…Colossians 2

I will take Paul's words over yours

conversation over for me
Well just the way you worded everything seemed as if you were agited you certainly didn't seem very happy. But no I am not one who is quick to anger at least not when something is directed at me. But you don't have to believe what I say I didn't ask you to and I don't understand why you are so irritated at me. If I actually did something wrong then I will apologize for it but so far the oinly thing I did was respond to you in the appropriate manner

If the statement of it's origins being pagan offends you then you shouldn't let thte things people say affect you so much it is going to happen time and time again the bdf.

Easter is used by today's church to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, but it is also not based on the resurrection originally, it was based on not doing anything the Jews did and the celebration of the goddess of fertility. We have the rabbits and eggs for this. Do you think that we should not know of this? What about God telling us not to copy pagans. Do you think the pagan celebration has been eliminated completely? Do you think it should not be spoken of at all?

It seems to me that God's ways of celebration would be superior to the way men have decided to do it. I should think I should be allowed to voice this without it raising such backlashes and attacks.

The joy of the feasts are a shadow of things to come, so do not judge me for enjoying the holodays the Lord gives me.

You say I am trying to foist off on you a celebration and feast you don't want, and heaven forbid. If you don't want to celebrate Passover you most certainly have my permission, please go ahead and ignore it.
