When a Christian dies, are they immediately resurrected and live in heaven with God?
I was not thinking in terms of this virus, but I also think choosing "Life" is by accepting Jesus, Who is Life.

It can be a last minute decision, but not exclusively. I've been in hospitals numerous times for non-life threatening issues and part of being admitted is being asked if you want to be resuscitated in the event of a problem.
Some people may be in so much pain and no hope of recovery that they'd rather not be kept alive in the event that they die.
They often will ask you a second time before surgeries.
I think it's to protect the doctors and nurses by removing the choice from them and putting it in the hands of those affected. This helps prevent lawsuits as well.
Yes I agree with Dino246. I have found that in many occasions that family members will approve of the resuscitation of a loved one but in most cases the family member is feeling the lose and hurting before the death of their loved one and they don't want to let go even though the person dying is ready to go home. My mother for example ended up with her kidneys not working anymore and she did have a DNR order. Even then they gave me the choice of putting her on a support system or giving her what they called "Comfort Protocol". Which is when they will pump drugs into her to make her comfortable and wait for her to die. I knew her mind was dead and she would not want to be put on life support and that she was ready to die. So I choose Comfort Protocol.
I don't believe a DNR is an act of sin at all. Salvation is all about the souls and the choices we make in our lives. The body simply goes back to the dust where it came from.
The soul is definitely alive.
According to the Book of Luke, concerning the story of Lazarus and the rich man, one soul was in hell being tormented and the other soul was in Paradise. If we go by this story, then the souls of those who denied God/unsaved are indeed in Hell

I've always thought that people just go off into eternal sleep when they die, awaiting the resurrection upon Christ's return. And at that time when Christ returned, those in Christ would go to paradise.
But if it is really so that when a child of God dies, their soul immediately transitions to paradise, then yes I would agree that under such circumstances, we should not delay the process.
But then I've heard stories about people waking up after years of being in a coma... so God was not ready to call that person home as yet...
But I wouldn't want to take this decision for myself or a loved one. That's a tough one, so hopefully God will make that decision for me, if God forbid, I was ever asked to choose.
